I've noticed on my phone that the front camera lens isn't centered in the hole cutout. Anyone else have this? Thinking of rma'ing it for it and a few other issues.

Mine is also off centre I'm sure you and I wont be alone with this issue.
It still works, right?
If so, this seems a bit overly nitpicky. There are people with much worse defects.

I've JUST received my infinity in the UK from Amazon.de (great deal by the way), but the top left of the screen protrudes quite significantly from the housing, much more than the right. Presumably this is a fault? Has anyone else had to get a replacement yet, and how did it go?

In the Nexus 7 forum, a fix for screen lift has been found. It appears that it often is related to the screws under the lifted area being tightened too much. Since the Nexus 7 is made by Asus, it seems a fair bet that they might have similar issues. This fix also seems to remedy some instances of light bleed.
Just noticed today my camera lens has a fine scratch running across it. Its about a hair away from the shutter thankfully. Didn't think this thing would scratch that easily...Ive had a case on and haven't even dropped it once since I got it on day 1 of release!
Anyone else in the same boat as me? Now I'm pretty worried I will get another one across the lens area and it will cause my camera to be useless...and I already know vzw won't replace the phone for something like that (not that id want one of the junk refurbs anyway)

You can replace the camera lens for almost nothing. The cover you see when you take the battery cover off has the camera lense embedded in it and can be replaced in 2 seconds with a small screw driver. The cover is like $5 I think.

Hmmm...if I could find one around that price is probably buy it! I can only find the camera module itself for $35...do you have any idea where I could go about finding the cover?

I can't seem to find it but I remember it was like $5 off a spare parts site. Maybe somebody else will chime in.

I got a tiny one.

No scratches. My back of my phone case is about 5mm deep, so fortunately it protects the lens.
Didn't know u can replace cover tho. Good info to file away for later

That's good to know it can be replaced. The back cover from Verizon goes for about $8 also, so now I'm not too worried about scratches.
Thanks for the link! I guess color doesn't matter since you don't see that part anyway!

+1 to OP. Glad to know I have options. Fortunately the bad scratch I have stopped just short of causing any issues. No clue how it got there.

I wouldn't buy that one. I just got one and it doesn't match perfectly on VZW version. Notice the open hole towards the bottom. Also bottom inside parts doesn't allow it to easily sit flush. Screw holes match up though. The ebay one is the bottom picture.
If anyone knows of a way to get a VZW version let me know. Seems others may know of other sites? The actual fix is easy. Just need the part.
My problem is worse.
Ouch! Thanks for the heads up.

I got the extended battery more for the protection of the camera than battery life. The extended cover has a nice deep hole to protect the camera, speaker and flash. It also helps a tiny bit with sun glare on certain pics... a very tiny bit.
Greetings,
I have a question regarding the protruding camera. When the phone is laying flat on a desk, I assume the desk has direct contact with the camera bump? My previous phone was the htc desire, and it also rested on the camera bump, which, as a result, showed in more noticable tear at the lower part of the camera bump. So will this be the case here too? Is the phone always resting on the camera bump?
Seems like the bump is not going to wear. Don't worry about that

I would just put a case on it and stop worrying.

My S2 has a raised camera too, looks like the same design, after 2 years its gone from black to silver from the wear n tear

I look at the Nexus 5 & I cringe at its potruding camera( sticking out camera ) I'm wondering if there is a screen protector for the camera lens...

Hello guys, let me explain my situation. I own the white 32gb nexus 5 since day one.
I dropped my phone yesterday and, as a result, the screen is now broken and there is a huge damage on top, beside the microphone.
I was looking for replacement part and I guessed if I could assemble the black matte frame with my white back cover.
The new phone will be black earpiece, matte black sides and white soft back.
Would you guys suggest me following this path?
I'm used to manipulate electronics, working on this phone doesn't sound like a problem at all for me.
I would like to point out that the Nexus 5 has it's screen glued. This makes replacement difficult.

Can be done, though

Yeah, there's actually a guide but my account is to new to post it. Op, check out ifixit. It has a great Nexus 5 teardown tutorial.
goo.gl/vzmOQN maybe this will work?

Would you think that this mod is worth?
I'm quite worried about the result.
Do you think the two parts will match well together?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk[/QUOTE]
I'm not exactly qualified to say personally but if you are used to working with electronics, then you can give it a try. After all the screen is broken and most of the other parts are easy enough to fix a far as far as the tear down says. I would personally think that replacing the earpiece would be relatively easy. After all the Nexus 5 has a very high repair ease rating.
