[Q] Uh oh. Tried New ROM but... - General Questions and Answers

I have rooted my Xperia Arc S. Used Titanium Backup do remove bloatware. Added ClockworkMod recovery. Started phone in recovery mode and attempted to run the .zip file on my SD card for the CyanogenMod ROM. My phone went to reboot in this new ROM, but it shows the SONY logo on my screen, and it doesn't do anything more. It is just stuck on that. I took out the battery and put it back in, but I get the same thing. The SONY logo only.
Any suggestions? Did I just fry my phone?
Thanks\

broke my lg ally HELP!!

hello, i think i broke the phone... I recently was trying to install a ROM with the ROM Manager.. i did the flash and did the install from the SDCard ... selected the backup current rom option and proceeded.. it look like it backed up everything and was installing the ROM.. once it rebooted, the phone just keeps rebooting.. it shows the LG logo and then goes to the Verizon logo... and it re-starts again and it keeps cycling on that.. PLEAS HELP!!
Ah, you have given more information than I got here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951997
So I think I can give you a clearer answer.
Boot into the bootloader. Steps to do so, according to a quick peek via Google, are to hold SEND and MENU while powering up the phone. (My phone is different). From the bootloader, you should be able to select Recovery. From there, you should be able to restore from the Nandroid backup you took. For other options, such as Fastboot, see the link in the thread I referenced.

[Q] Boot issues after installing CWM recovery

Hey there XDA! I thought I'd root my P920 a few days back, which went smooth, no issues and I was enjoying my newly rooted Optimus
I wanted to get a new kernel for it, so first thing I did was install CWM, Then clicking on 'Flash ClockworkMod recovery' in the app, which then flashed a CWM recovery if I'm not wrong. The final thing left to do was rebooting into the recovery, which I did by clicking 'Reboot into recovery'
Now waiting for the phone to reboot into recovery, the LG logo came up on screen, and stayed there for some time, which is normal behaviour as it takes a bit of a while to boot up for me, but then something odd happened, the logo disappeared and the screen blacked out, leaving the phone off. Immediately noticing this, I tried to boot the phone up as I normally would, but again the same thing occurred, logo appears, then phone blacks out and returns to an off state.I repeated this a few times, but to no avail.
These are some things I tried:
Normal booting multiple times
Normal booting after battery pull
Normal booting while charging
Normal booting after removing SD card (this resulted in a blue screen appearing after the LG logo on bootup, though I was impatient and didn't wait to see what would happen so I pulled the battery out )
Normal booting after removing SD card and then battery pull
Normal booting after removing SD and SIM card
Normal booting after removing SD and SIM and then battery pull
Booting into recovery multiple times
Booting into recovery while charging
Booting into recovery while charging
Booting into recovery after removing SD card and battery pull
Booting into recovery after removing SD card
Booting into recovery after removing SD and SIM card
Booting into recovery after removing SD and SIM card and battery pull
So as can be seen I've tried tons of situations
A few times, the screen turned into repeated patterns of static colour, it's difficult to describe but its only happened a couple times, and appeared on top of the LG logo. From what I've gathered, something is preventing the phone from booting up properly, either normally or into recovery, unless the problem is something else entirely. Also I don't have any NANdroid or Titanium backups.
So my questions are, could it be that I need a full charge for it to boot properly? Otherwise what's the problem and how do I get the phone to boot normally? I would prefer that all data on the phone is not erased but if it's a must then so be it.
I really appreciate any and all help I can get here, thanks!
P.S. I'm new to rooting and customising at that level, so please ask for any additional details or anything I was unclear about. Apologies to all for the lengthy first post, thanks again!
AW: [Q] Boot issues after installing CWM recovery
Hi welcome
Girst thing you have to do before flashing or doining something with your phone is a nandroid backup. I do always a titaniumbackup and saved pictures and music manually only for insurence. Next thing, whcich app do you use for flashing cwm?
For your data im not sure if you can rescue that i dont think so.
If i understand it right your are stuck on bootlogo right?
To rescue your phone you can always go back to gb by flashing kdz file with flashtool. Watch here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540163
But in that case you will loose all your data on phone.
P.S. and next time if you want to flash cwm use os_hackings all in one tool. And flash twrp recovery its better and didnt have so much bugs
Sent from my LG-SU760 using xda app-developers app
I used ROM Manager for flashing cwm, yes I am stuck on bootlogo
Thanks for the help! I'll try out what you suggested and report back here if it works

[Q] Help, Xperia X8 not booting

I have rooted and installed xRecovery on my old Xperia X8, everything fine there. I wanted to install Ginger DX custom rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486. My phone is a version which can't have bootloader unlocked, or it will hardbrick, so I needed to install this rom for stock kernel. I got to recovery mode, backed up, wiped cache, factory reseted, and installed the rom, all fine til there. So when I made it reboot, i turned off and got stuck on "Sony Ericsson" screen. I waited some time, and when I saw it wasn't rebooting, I took out the battery, and when I rebooted it, it got stuck in the same screen. Also I can't seen to get to recovery mode by clicking "back" several times. Someone please help me, the phone is old, but it's the only one my brother has

[Q] [HELP] GTi8262 > Phone doesn't start!

Hi XDA members, I came here because I'm tired and I cant'd do anything more, I need help
Ok so first I had a Samsung Galaxy Core Duos GTI8262, original, no modified, android 4.1.2, everything all right.
Then I starded to try to install a costum ROM with 4.4. I rooted it, and then I found a CMW Recovery and I had installed it via Odin307, but it didn't work because it was not compatible with my phone, it was crashing all the time and the phone used to make noises, like an engine working or something, and then it shuts down. Then after much search I found here in XDA a costum Recovery Based in CMW for my phone, "CMW based Recovery v6.0.4.7".
I installed it via Odin307 under the previous CMW that dint work properly, and finally everething went all right, I installed a ROM with KitCat, then another with Lillicop, etc... then I wanted to try Cynogen, it was in my model devolopment and I installed it, bigger mistake, it didn't recognize SIM card such as Wifi, Bluethoth, etc... no conections. I get tired because with all my Download mode started to get stuck, so, I could not install another ROM, so, angry, I went to based CMW Recovery and I formatted EVERYTHING, until get to the point where there wasn't ANY file in SDCARD0, I tried to make factory Reset, didn't work, so I turn the phone On and the logo "Galaxy Core Duos GTI8262" stays there forever... the phone doesn't start.
THEEN... i downloaded the stock ROM here in XDA to my model (I'm Portuguese (Portugal)), and tried to install it via Odin207. I was waiting that the Download Mode got stucked again but I tried it in the same way, because I didn't knew what to do more. BUT, instead of get stuck, the Download Mode only stays for aprox. 5 seconds, then the phone shuts down... SO > nothing in SDCARD0 (and the CWM Based doesn't have the option to install anything in extSDCard I dont know why...) and Download Mode crashes... without pay nothing, WHAT CAN I DO PEOPLE?
Please help, sorry my English...

Sony Xperia Tipo Bricked (AOKP ROM)

I am quite new to flashing ROMs and I was really excited when i managed to successfully flash a ROM on my Tipo, it was the AOKP milestone1 ROM and it was pretty good but every 10 seconds an error came up saying "Android Keyboard has stopped working". So today i decided to install the Alienware KitKat ROM it was going well, i transferred the zip file to my SD card, managed to boot into recovery, delete phone date, cache etc and install it. However when i tried to reboot the phone after installing it the pink notification light and the capacitive buttons would light up for 5 seconds and then turn off, but i can still go into CWM recovery mode. So I tried to flash the stock ROM back onto my phone through Flashtool but even that didn't work for me, it kept on getting stuck.
Does anyone have a solution for me. I'm quite saddened by this my phone right now is useless.
Disregard...
