Easily copy contact phone number? - General Questions and Answers

Hey is there an easy/quick way just to copy a contacts phone number from the dialer or call history? It seems like I have to go to the contact, click edit, go to the phone number field, and copy it. Anyone know of a faster way than that? [Android 4.3]

I also had this problem but at least a year ago. It would be helpful if you post your device or rom.
If you have a Samsung then just click on the contact and long press the phone number then you get the options "delete" and "copy"
cheers

If you're using vanilla People app, as I think you do if you have SuperNexus, tap on a contact and in the overview long press on the phone number, a menu will pop up with the option to Copy it to the Clipboard.

Does Serendipity really not have an 'enter' key?

This should be in developers but it won't let me post there.
Just tried to send a text with my new ROM and was horrified that there's no enter key.
It's also not letting me see any contacts, when I 'create new message' and select the 'to' box I am given no options, but my SIM card is definitely there, being read, and full of phone numbers.

There is no enter key on the swype version on serendipity. And for your contacts on the aosp mms app you have to type in the name our number in the very top box.

You'd have to swap out the aosp contacts app for the samsung contacts app.

Why do you need a enter key? Can't you just use the "Send" button?

[Q] I need a messaging app which shows...

Hello everybody.
I'll try to explain what i exactly need, sorry for my poor English.
This app should tells me, the phone number written in the message is your X contacts number. It should goes to my contacts and if that number is one of my contact, adds its name next to number
My operator sends me message who called me while my phone is off. But i can see only number, not the contacts name.
Here is an example if I can't explain it to you clearly.
Original message;
+90123456789 called you three times and +90987654321 called you once.
What i want to see;
+90123456789 (mom) called you three times and +90987654321 (boss) called you once.
Don't think there's any messaging app for this, I too have this issue but it doesn't bother me, just call and hang up to see who's the caller.
Give go SMS a try

To add a pic you have to add yourself to your phonebook. The voice mail number is your phone number. Just add it in the blank area. These are common things with CM based roms

Ok an dumb question but you did add a pic to it right? To be honest I am not sure other then that as I dont use CM based roms due to signal needs
It never crossed my mind to want to see my own pic on texts...lol but I just tried and it didn't work. I don't think you can on the included messenger. Maybe try gosms? (Its been a while since I've used gosms. You could always convince the person to use an app like gtalk, kakaotalk, or palringo for your messaging needs.
I got your 10 char right here
abso Bacon Mod
Due to security concerns I would advise handcent. Could be an issue with the messaging app and contact apparently intergeation.

I know I do the same thing. I have my pic set up but then I use a HTC based rom and it works fine as long as I add my pic in my phonebook.
You have to add your number in additional settings. Go to settings ->callsettings->scroll down to additional settings-> then enter your phone number

[Q] Send calls directly to voicemail in Jelly Bean 4.1.1?

I have just purchased the GS3, which is my 4th Android phone; and, it has the Jelly Bean v4.1.1. OTA firmware update.
In my other Android phones, I could edit individual contacts to go directly into voicemail.
I cannot find that feature in the contacts edit mode on my GS3. The closest I can find is a setting to add the contact to a 'reject list', which just blocks the call.
Does anyone know if it is still a feature in JB; and, if so...where it can be accessed?
Thanks, in advance.
PJA
When you are in the stock Phone app, press the Menu Key and tap on Call Settings. Tap on Call Rejection and then tap on the Auto reject list. From the list, click on the + sign to add a new number from call logs, contacts or typing the number in directly.
It took me a while to find this also. Hope it helps!
Solution?
Hi there,
Just wondering if you ever found a solution for this? If I've understood rightly the above answer only allows you to reject individuals whereas you wanted to send certain contacts straight to voice mail... Which is what I'm trying to do on a Galaxy S4.
Did you manage it or find an app that does something similar?
Thanks for your help,
Dan

[Q] can phone dialer search from call history?

I use my nexus 5 for work and I receive a lot of calls. I need to look up a call log from a number that was not saved as a contact. Dial up seems to just search saved contacts and nearby places.
Most phones you can dial the number and the call log will appear but the nexus 5 won't do that. Any suggestions?

Just push the clock sign on the left below next to the dialer to see the call history.

I know about the clock but the call history is a huge list since I first used the nexus.
I don't know the exact date of the call so why can I just search for the number in the phone app using the search bar?

I don`t think you can search in the dialer for recent numbers, maybe there is an dialer in Play that has that option.
