[Q] Seperate ring/notification volume - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know xposed framework would allow this option but I don't believe it is supported for this device yet. Is there anybody else who has figured a way to separate these two volumes? I need the phone to be able to ring at night as I'm on call but not be woken by email and other notifications.
Thanks for any help.

Looks like volume butler will work for now until xposed comes out.

This is a must have feature for me. CyanogenMod has this feature, but is not stable just yet.

App to control phone volume?

I dropped my phone and now the volume buttons rarely works. So is there a app i could use to control the music/call volume?thanks.
Sorry it didnt show the other thread i posted...close this one please.
Volume slider
Yes, there is an app for that, but only if you have a dev-unlock phone
See this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577919
Don't know of one for fully locked phones.

What about one for call volume? This one is good for master volume but for call volume it doesn't work.
Not aware of any app for in-call volume.
I can see how that might be a problem for you if the volume buttons don't work at all.
Maybe you wanna PM the developer for that app and ask for it to be added?
Alternatively, is it that the volume buttons don't work at all? or do they not work well? You might consider taking off the back cover and trying to improve the contact with the push buttons. (Use small regular screwdriver at 45 degree angle if you have one of those 3 prong screws). Don't know which device you have, but if you check the forum for that phone, many have directions about how to take off back cover (mainly for updating memory card)
Hi,
I have the same problem too. This app works like a charm but not for in-call.
I am not sure if the developer could do something about it.
Unfortunately, because I have less than 10 posts, I am unable to reply in a dev thread.
I have tried to send an email, but not a private message, to the developer and he has not replied so I don't know if he got it or not.
I dont want to email him again cause it would be rude.
Anyone has any idea if it would be possible at least?
Cheers
Hi guys,
No answer to my post
Has anyone the same problem?
Would anyone mind to ask the developer?
Thank you in advance
Ok in case anyone is interested in this:
There is a solution to change the in-call volume manually, it s not an app but it does the job pretty well
see this thread:

All credits go to Localhorst86 for finding the tweak.

Question about notifications volume

Where is the setting to change so that when a notification arrives, the volume of whatever I'm listening to won't lower??
It seems like I just noticed this a couple days ago.. Is this from a gravity box update maybe?

I'm pretty sure that this is an per-app setting since it can be implemented by developers ( http://developer.android.com/training/managing-audio/audio-focus.html)
Some apps even allow to customize the audio focus settings. For example PowerAMP lets me choose what to do when a message or phone call arrives for example.
Maybe it could also be managed with an Xposed module but I'm not sure...
Hope I didn't get you wrong

Thanks, its probably per app.. I'll look through individual app settings and see what I can adjust

specific contact never on mute

I like to keep my phone on vibrate when Im home. The thing is, there is one contact that I always gotta answer to. Always. Is there a way for me to get my phone ringing when he calls even if the phone is on vibrate or silent mod?

If you install Lightflow
you can set up a profile for that contact to override vibrate/silent mode and volume/ringtone etc

I don't have CM ROM I use stock, so unless anyone else knows any options for you that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

Alert Slider Customization for OxygenOS 3

Hey Guys,
i guess the most of u know the app "Vibrate Mode" from the Oneplus 2. And maybe u also know this app doesnt work anymore.
It seems like there is a method to get those features by using tasker, but i dont like this, since it is still buggy.
Maybe we can reach a dev, who can bring the "Vibrate Mode App" features back to the Oneplus 3, using OxygenOS and root/xposed.
I think there are really really much people out there, which would like to have the ability to change the alert slider to "all - vibrate - silent".
Since this is the only logical function imo. :cyclops:
Please push this thread to heaven, so we maybe get some dev's to work on this! :good:
Cheers!
I've already contacted the devs that made the previous mods. No reply
Use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nqk.vibratemodeextended
And in settings allow all contacts in alert slider > priority
Works for me

If some dev happens to read this I'd love to have more features with the slider. For example best for me would be Normal - Flashlight - Silent etc.
Let's hope someone does this
There's already one xposed module (Alert slider) but it's old and not supporting op3.
for me VibrateMode works perfectly...

Im also having the same issue (with xposed).
Cmon Devs
Get this App working again... guess the most out there would be willed to donate u money for bringing this feature back.
This shouldn't be that hard for a Coder, since the device sources are out :-/

Same issue. When sliding back down from Silent to All, it remains in Vibrate :\
I can confirm Tasker works, and should remedy the issue of it remaining on vibrate. I'm now waiting for a way to reverse the slider, and I'm sure a free solution will come along soon enough too.
try the beta for oos3. it works for me

I can confirm this work!!! Now just an option to revert.
Are you sure it works? I have tried all the builds and I'm pretty sure this build was the closest as it worked correctly. However, every so often it doesn't go into vibrate mode or doesn't restore the volume level.

Question Separate Ring and Notification volume?

Anyone know how to achieve this? Gravity box used to allow this. I'm have xposed/magisk installed so I'm open to anything.
The notification sounds are too loud but the ring sound is too quiet.
If it was like past versions of Android (8?) and phones, Google made a change to link them as one level. The App that I found that allows for seperate volume and notification control is 'Volume Butler'. It's simple and works well. There may be other Apps that can do this, but, at the time I needed it, it was the only one.

Yeah I searched all over the forums and those seems to be only apps that might work. Not sure how power hungry those apps are constantly monitoring app activity.
I was hoping something smaller that works on magisk or xposed.

This is the app I use to do that. Works great. No extra battery drain with it either.
