Transferring the kernel from version 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 - HTC One SV

Tell me, please, what actions are necessary to carry out the kernel, make it work on 4.2.2.
These changes do not give a positive result.
4.1.2.6
BOARD_KERNEL_BASE := 0x80400000
BOARD_RAMDISK_BASE:= 0x81808000
4.2.2
BOARD_KERNEL_BASE := 0x80600000
BOARD_RAMDISK_BASE:= 0x81С08000

Wrong section.
And you can't transfer the kernel from 4.1 to 4.2 until kernel source is out. With ramdisk you can't boot it.

In version 4.2.2 there is no ramdisk? Or something I did not understand?

Ramdisk is on all kernels for all versions. It's a part of the "kernel" with the zImage.
If I'm not wrong, you unpacked boot.img with kitchen (or unpackbootimg) and edited only ramdisk.
I said that will you not be able to boot a 4.2 rom with 4.1 kernel, you have to wait for source code.

What prevents the extract from the kernel 4.2.2 ramdisk and add it to the my version of kernel 4.1.2 (my zImage)?

ramdisk - quite simply unpacked and going back. and does not contain anything interesting, except for startup scripts. or not?

In fact ramdisk contains services runned when turned on the phone, and you can edit it by unpacking it.
Except this you cannot edit the zImage - real compiled kernel. So, like I said, you have to wait for zImage (kernel) source code.

I have not yet been updated, but it does not interest me before the 4.2.2 kernel source.
I can install myself 4.2.2 without official release of this update.
My kernel starts at 4.2.2. But beyond that - a problem. Bootloop.

Thank you. My One SV will come in next days. And it's an italian non-LTE device. I think I will not unlock bootloader until I will get Sense 5 update. After that I will make a backup of whole system, kernel, etc.
Do you have too an non-LTE device?

Glad you join the One SV family! You still have your DX?
But notice: S-Off (if you want) is at the moment only available for ICS or JB 4.1.2!

[ROM][S4][JB 4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 for Ville

Hello, since CyanogenMod cannot be officially build and the official ones are outdated, I thought it might be helpful for someone to build and release it.
So i started syncing the repo and compiling, and right now i'm running the lastest daily build on my Ville.
This is just CyanogenMod. This is exactly how the official one would be.
Instructions
You need a custom recovery!
- Download ROM and GApps from below links
- Reboot into recovery
- Flash ROM
- Flash GApps
- To solve tearing, flash a custom kernel
If you're S-ON
- Extract boot.img from the ZIP of the kernel you're flashing
- Reboot into bootloader and select fastboot
- Connect it to the PC
- Run fastboot flash boot boot.img (where boot.img is the path of the boot.img file if it's not in the same folder)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Downloads
ROM - Get one from here or here
GApps - Download
CyanogenMod suffers from tearing. To fix this, you can flash a different AOSP kernel, like Bubba Kernel.

Hi,
thanks for the work! I also tried to build latest CM10.1 yesterday, however I failed to extract all the required blobs from my device. May I ask, which ROM you used to extract the blobs from? The latest officially build cm10.1 is lacking 3 files here....
Thanks!

When I run extract-files.sh I get:
remote object '/system/bin/hci_qcomm_init' does not exist
remote object '/system/lib/hw/gps.default.so' does not exist
remote object '/system/lib/libgps.so' does not exist
remote object '/system/lib/libloc_ext.so' does not exist
I'm not sure whether that's actually a problem or not, but to me it looks like at least GPS will not work...
My build also didn't boot, I couldn't load the adreno drivers due to missing symbols...
Did you do anything other special?

If you get those errors while extracting files from your phone i don't think that the branch you used matters.
Maybe it could be a driver issue or something similiar?

What do you mean by driver issue?
The files are clearly not there in the last officially built nightly, I am using cm-10.1-20130312-NIGHTLY-ville.zip.
So I guess either
- you are using another rom to extract from, or
- you pulled and build another branch of cm10.1 (which doesn't require those files for some reason) than I am trying to build.

To pool boot.img you need to be unlocked with custom recovery or root access.
adb shell

We have an upload!
I'm going to release a version tomorrow but if you want to clone it and zip those files up, and release it, go ahead
I have a lot of stuff to do, I put too much pressure on myself
I'm also releasing another ROM, it's source-based, but I have yet to build it. Off to that we go!

Tbh i never pack it like that
I am using cm source for compiling a kernel
Also you set the boot size is too small...
Anyway what's the different between fastboot and flash via recovery
The result is same .-.
