Hi. So a few weeks ago I rooted my Nexus 5. I had Google Wallet up and working fine before. However, I forgot to go in and disable everything before rooting. The problem is that when I tap and pay it always says "payment declined" and just doesn't work. I was reading that this might have broken the secure element or something. I've called and been in touch with Google to see if they could help me out buy that's not really going anywhere. Does anyone have any method of completely clearing out the Google Wallet cache or something? I can't even uninstall the app as it's built into the phone or ROM. Any help is much appreciated.
Go into settings, apps and clear it's cache, may have to clear data too

If I remember correctly you need to make sure that you authorize the phone to make payments even though you have broken Google's security. This is if I remember correctly it might be under Google settings. This thread may help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696909.
whenever I try to add a calendar event using a voice command in Google Now, it will get to the final confirmation screen and then error out.
This was an issue with 5.0.0, and remains an issue after I updated to 5.0.1 via OTA. Unfortunately I never tried to add calendar events with voice commands back in KitKat, so I don't know if it was a problem in 4.4.
I've tried many times and get the same result each time, regardless of whether I am on WiFi or LTE.
Google Now works fine in every other way. For example, if I use a voice command to start navigating to a specific address, there are no issues with that.
Here's what happens after I say the command. Everything looks fine at this point: http://imgur.com/8wpP5oc
However, as soon as I press the check mark in the bottom right corner, this happens: http://imgur.com/pOJkufp
Any ideas on a fix? Thanks!
Are you blocking/disabling anything regarding Google Play Services/Google Search?

Can you elaborate? I just recently upgraded to 5.0.1, so most of my settings are at defaults. I don't think I've gone in and specifically uninstalled/blocked anything related to Google search yet.

Try clearing the data of Google Search/Google Play Services and maybe try removing and readding your Google Account.
If that doesn't work then make a backup then reflash factory images.
I finally got around to completely re-flashing my phone via fastboot. I am now on a completely clean install of Android 5.0.1. I've even gone back to stock keyboard and launcher in case Nova or Swiftkey was causing an issue.
However, still no luck. Getting the exact same error as before when trying to add a calendar event via Google Now voice command.
Any ideas?
I have a Nexus7 (flo). I have never been able to get Speech-to-text functional. I think the device came with KitKat, but I've upgraded it all the way through to Marshmallow without getting the damn "Voice Typing" function to work. I'm using the google keyboard, and everything has been stock up until now. A couple weeks ago I flashed to TWRP and CM12, and it still doesn't work. Here's the lowdown-
Google Keyboard is properly set up with my native language.
The microphone icon on the keyboard is shown, but there is no result when it's pressed, long-pressed, or tapped repeatedly in anger.
I've tried several suggestions involving deleting any cache or app data via TitaniumBackup and TWRP.
There is no voice typing option in any of the menus.
I have the following Google-related apps installed:
Google Play Store
Google Keyboard
Google Contacts Sync
And the following Google services:
google backup transport
google account manager
google one time init
google partner setup
google play services
google services framework
Unfortunately I don't know what services or components are required for google voice typing. It didn't work when I had absolutely *everything* from google installed (as it came on this device), so any advice is greatly appreciated!
hello everyone,
got the same problem as artician on my i9100 under CM12. I installed the gapps pico.
Is another gapps version needed? If yes which one?
thanks a lot for anyone's help
Yeah I still haven't heard anything. Not even from Google.

By the way, I am also experiencing some loss of wifi connection. I need to switch off, and then back on the wifi of the phone to reconnect to my router.
Do you also have this problem? (I'm running the CM12 20151116 SNAPSHOT version)
cheers
I use Google Voice as my main phone number and I never had a problem just installing the Google app and having my calls routed through it, but on this phone a get a "Call Not Sent" error. I searched and it seems this is an issue with other Huawei phones, but didn't find any solution. Any ideas?
Can anyone test to confirm it's an issue? Would flashing a Gapps package help?
maybe, cuz flashing gapps package would make them system apps. just make sure u have enough space left on your system partition...

I deleted some system apps and installed open gapps mini. No luck, still getting the same error. Is it possible to replace the phone apk (not dialer), or is that too tied to the hardware?
I've been using the phone for a couple days now, and I'd hate to give it for such a small (but fundamental) bug...

please explain
i still can't figure it out
Actually it may have been a fluke... I placed one single call and confirmed with the other party it was my Google voice number. Now it isn't working again.
I think I may have fixed it. I copied in some telecom files from AOSP. So far I'm like 5 calls and 2 reboots in and it's holding. I'm going to try to update to the new L-29 OTA, root and then follow the same process. If it works, I'll post the ROM. If it's like what I'm on right now, it's a very nice mix of EMUI and AOSP since most of the Huawei stuff is gone, except some of the handy features, and all the Google stuff is loaded and working.
maybe you could also include a howto, which files to add where so that others may cook up their own emui/aosp mix

To be honest, I'm really not 100% sure, I kind of brute forced through the testing. What I do know: replacing a couple telecom framework and binaries from the 6P factory image (figured might as well use this), and installing Google voice as a system app, I have gotten it to work every time (for me) as long as it is set to prompt for every call. If set to "use Google voice for all calls", it breaks. My guess is it's a timing issue (emui telecom not giving Google voice the time it needs to make the connection).
I'll attach the ZIP file with all of the telecom components I used (NOTE THAT USING PRIV-APP COMPONENTS -IE TELECOM.APK, SEEMS TO CAUSE A BOOTLOOP).
Also, here is a link to my TWRP backup of my current system. It is 152 with a full Gapps package, Google voice as a system app and the telecom components Frankensteined in. Hopefully it will work on your devices, but just in case it bricks it I won't be giving out my address, least I get picketed

Still no real solution. The ask every time trick works without having to do anything with making Google Voice a system app and it only works 90% of the time.
Can anyone else confirm this issue? I'm discussing it with the vendor I purchased from, they're claiming it works perfectly

This is an old post with little activity, and yet I have this same problem. I have tried all the app setting and permissions, the battery setting etc, but the Mate 8 seems incompatible with Google Voice. The app install fine, sets up normally, and incoming calls to my Google Voice number work. It is just dialing out. All dials get the message "call not sent" and the dialer screen returns to befor the call was placed. The log also does not show an attempted call. I have tried alternative dialers from the play store, but none work. Has anyone solved this, or are there just very few people using Google Voice with this particular phone.
I've been having this same issue and have had the best results just setting it to "ask every time", no other tricks needed.

This is broken on the mate 9 as well
Anything on this? i just got a mate 8 and am having the same damned issue.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Google app, clearing cache in app and on phone. Retrained the voice in Google app a dozen times. Nothing is working. Side note: my SIM card is still installed in my old 5T. the 7 Pro doesn't have a SIM card. Not sure if that is a factor. Assistant works fine. *UPDATE: "OK Google" will launch when prompted when display is locked but it won't answer or respond to whatever I ask it. "OK Google" will not launch or respond when phone is unlocked at all.
I'm having similar issues but mine stops responding once I connect to my car stereo... And doesn't respond even after disconnecting until I reboot.
7 pro?
Same issue OK Google will NOT work on the One Plus 7 pro for some reason on my end
Did all that was suggested , Clear Cache , Clear Data, Disable Google, Reboot, then Endable google, retrain my voice
But still on the home screen when I say OK Google nothing happens
Anyone have a FIX for the Oneplus 7 pro? Thanks

I'm assuming you are rooted using Magisk? See my post here:

Not rooted. Using Nova and I restored from a Nova backup if that matters.

Interesting. Sorry I can't help then. I had the exact same issue but was able to to resolve it by adding Google Framework to Magisk Hide. Since you're not rooted, this doesn't apply. Maybe try resetting to factory and see if it works before restoring any backups?
rooted, with custom kernel and custom launcher. OK Google works like a charm.

Just did factory reset and ok Google is now working. It hasn't finished restoring, however. I'll report back once it has. What a pita.
UPDATE: OK Google is working fine after Factory Reset, (PITA), and full restore.
That is what I was afraid of ,doing a full factory reset
If anyone has another solution that avoids that please let me know
Thanks all
Mine seems to work when the phone is awake however I have noticed that for some reason the Google pill widget does not show the 'ok google' text that normally shows up on my other phones.
Using stock launcher so not a 3rd party problem.
Anyone else notice this?
Not entirely helpful here other than to tell you that I'm not experiencing the same thing. ?
Full factory reset as a solution, lol. C'mon guys
No better solutions? Are we the only unlucky ones here.
The similar issue I have also come across on my phone and believe me, it was very irritating situation as I am not getting any way to fix it. Even I was not able to understand why it was happening but after searching a lot, I have got some solutions given in one blog. So if you are also coming across the same issue like "OK Google Not Working" then try the below solutions:
Solution 1: Restart Your Android Phone
Solution 2: Force Stop Google App
Solution 3: Clear Cache of Google App
Solution 4: Turn Off Bixby [For Samsung Users]
Solution 5: Make Sure That OK Google Command Is Enabled
Solution 6: Check Microphone On Your Device
Solution 7: Turn Off Adaptive Battery And Battery Saver Option
An old one here but have you installed any third party notification app like notifybuddy or plus beat? Ok Google won't work with these installed. The only notification app that doesn't interfere is AOE.
I have noticed a similar issue with voice-to-text being terrible and when this is happening OK Google does not work although it could be problem that happens even after OK Google is working but the voice to text is terrible at recognizing words. After android 10
