There is always H+ displayed on the upper right corner for galaxy nexus and nexus 4.
But when I switched to nexus 5,l've never see H+ again.
pls refer to attached file.
Now that you mention it, I do not believe I have see it either.
I'm pretty sure that Stock roms didn't display H+ on the Nexus 4. I only had H+ on custom roms.
Yeah, can confirm that besides the data indicator arrows, the H+ symbol has been "dumbed down" too... If you want to see it, you need to go to the settings/about phone/status page, here you can see HSDPA+ if available.
Thank you Google (...not!)
neither me
I haven't seen it either, it seems they cut the plus off just to optimize the space

Not sure what's happened but I've been testing out my new XDA Serra and noticed an additional clock on the top bar that I'm sure wasn't there yesterday.
Top right where it shoes the GPRS or HSDPA and signal strength, I now have a box with the time sat on top of what I think must be the battery icon but says 100%.
Is this correct? just that when the time alters the clock flashes to a white box and I'm sure it wasn't there yesterday.
Thanks
I've noticed this but couldn't figure it out. 1x, 3g, 4g, and wifi will show up white in the beginning and then go green. Now, I have 1 bar 4g signal and 2 bars whatever signal right next to it but they have been staying white for a while now. I have throughput all this time so it's not an indicator if the net connection is there or not. Someone have an explanation?
disable background data and youll notice the indicators remain white. green will indicate bg data is enabled and connection to google services(not necessarily meaning data is being transmitted)

Green is when it's connected to Google.
Yeah, but this is happening on it's own. I just saw a different combination, green 4g and white signal bar to the right of that.
the cyanowiz rom seems completely usable accept the signal bars always show that it was no signal even though i have 3 bars of LTE. the data icon is there but anyways its annoying to not be able to see signal strength. are you guys having this issue?
Yes. That's typical of the Skyrocket build of CM7. I change the blank signal bars to dBm value. To do so go to Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Status Bar Tweaks > Alternate signal display.

thanks! i may be able to use cyanowiz now, but if sean is able to get the signal bars working that would be fantastic,
Also, it seems that when you drop to Edge and HSPA your signal bars do start to work, but once you're back on LTE they will disappear again.
No real major disfunctionality there but it is a little bit aesthetically displeasing
Still, an amazing ROM
I've updated to the official HTC ICS release, using the flashable ROMs created on here from the OTA file.
All is great, loving ICS so far.
One thing I've noticed, the little icon on the top bar to show I am connected to a wifi point is grey, with just the little circle bit white , as though it was a low signal strength. This is with it next to the router. Apps like network signal info aren't showing any signal %age at all, not even a 0. It's working fine though, speedtest apps give excellent scores.
When I go into wifi settings and scan for access points, those are correct. My router is fully white, whilst ones around on the street are various levels of whiteness.
It's just that notification icon, and the signal strength in apps, that is not showing.
Any ideas?
Reboot, and then it's back to normal.
Too simple

Are you kidding? As the phone is rebooting I'm thinking did they mean the phone or the router. When the phone comes back on and all my bars are there I'm like could it have been simpler? No I guess it couldn't have.
As it is now, the colors of the wifi/mobile signal bars are white (in the status bar), and if you want to check to see if you're receiving data for either wifi/mobile you have to swipe down and go into quick settings. If you're not receiving data, it will be orange.
Is there a way for the signal bars in the status bar to also show orange? Or another color letting you know instantly you're not receiving data for either wifi or mobile?
The reason I ask is because last night my internet went down for a couple hours. The wireless router was on, thus showing full white bars for wifi in the status bar, even though I was actually not receiving internet. It was only after not receiving any notifications for awhile (including texts because when the wifi/mobile data are on at the same time both go down) when I swiped down into quick settings and noticed full reception for both wifi/mobile but both were orange.
It would have been nice to know immediately via the status bar with a change in signal color from white to orange. Is there something I'm missing? Is it possible to change?
Cheers!

Only way to change colors is themes from theme chooser, xposed modules, etc with root. Normally, no, not on stock unless you do the root. Signal status in status bar is feature of some ROMs as well if you flash but beyond that, no.
