Try to reload the device drivers using the Tools menu on Kies. You may update firmwares using the Odin software (You should be an experienced user to try this).

Hey, guys I hope someone can help me:
I have a Samsung galaxy s , and I want to return to a original firmware so I tried to flash it with odin, but I encountered a problem:
When I enter in download mode and connect the USB cabble Odin doesn't see my device, I am desperate, please someone help me!
Sounds like it could be a driver issue. Check to see if you have the latest Samsung drivers.
Yes I have the latest Samsung drivers
I have a unrooted N8010 running on stock firmware.
I installed the Samsung Kies and all the necessary drivers but when I connect my tablet to the computer it doesn't work at the first try (I get an error about Hardware ID not found...). Although the Samsung Kies software shows on the top left that the GT-N8010 is connecting... but it never connects.
Then I plug out the USB and click on troubleshoot connection and it re-installs the drivers. Then when I connect the tablet again it is recognized by Kies and it shows up on the software window.
My issue is that I have to do this everytime I first connect the tablet. I don't know why I need to re-install the drivers everytime for it to work. Any ideas as to what might be the problem?
Seems to be a common problem, I have same problem, even when connecting without kies to load stuff on my SD card, sometimes changing USB port helps or connect as camera, then back again to MPT. Jim
same here, Moody KIES
Why use Kies ??? join XDA and throw Kies away .

how i can sync contacts with outlook, without kies?!
My galaxy gear is showing the "firmware upgrade encountered and issue. Select recovery mode in Kies and try again" screen, neither Kies3 nor Kies 2.6 recognize my device. Is there anything I can do?
I accidentally deleted the root to my s3 and left it unrooted, im not too sure what else I accidentally deleted but I've been trying to reroot it with it's stock firmware... But its extra hard since my computer detects the device but refuses to connect with it and does not let me interact with it at all (open internal storage). When I start it up, it only shows the SAMSUNG screen and then the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen and then just stays there.... I tried rerooting it using Odin3 but the connection from the phone to the computer failed so now my phone is stuck on the screen where it says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." So i downloaded Kies but again, I cant access the device through computer so Kies says, "Device not responding. To resolve issue, reboot the device." Please Help!!!

The battery died so the only time I see something on screen is when I plug it in a charger or pc. The message I get is "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again." the problem with this is that when in charger or connected to the pc it keeps continually flicking off and on making it impossible to establish a steady connection with the pc. I'm at wits end on this one.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You might need to get a new batery but try booting into download mode. If you can then flash the stock firmware with odin. See this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459734 Make sure you get the firmware for your specific device.
