Hi
Having a strange problem with my nexus 5. I used my nexus 5 for a couple of days using wifi with no battery drain. When my micro sim arrived I popped it in and suddenly the battery started to drain in standby, I would say around 4% an hour. It drained over 30% overnight with mobile data and wifi switched off.
I proceeded with a factory reset thinking it may have been an app, but the drain was still there.
I then removed the sim card switched the wifi on and there was no drain, only 1% per two hours.
Is this a common problem or does anyone think there is a problem with the device?
I live in a good signal area, and nearly always get 4 bars. The battery stats suggest over 30% of the use is phone idle and mobile standby when the SIM is inserted, these drop signifcantly when no SIM is inserted.
Appreciate any help / advice. Thanks

Various people have had similar problems as you, and have reported that flashing the stock factory image has fixed their battery drain issues. You can find it here, I believe: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507861
Gotta flash it in Recovery, CWM or TWRP..
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I just find it weird, that it only drains when the SIM is inserted even with mobile data switched off. Maybe its a hardware problem, I wondered if anyone had a similar issue, might ask for a replacement from google.

Anyone else have a problem with your battery draining extremely fast? My battery goes from 100% to 38% in 2 and half hours on standby.. And I've noticed my WiFi and Cell signal constantly drop and reconnect all the time now. It just started within the last week, I don't know what's going on.. Is this a common problem? Any help or input would be appreciated.
If your phone loses signal your batrery will drain very fast.
How to solve it?
Flash another radio or switch to another carrier with better coverage.

I normally have great coverage, it's my WiFi that's the issue, but for some reason the last week it constantly turns off then turns back on.. I don't know why, normally it never constantly drops n reconnects. I'm gonna try wiping and reinstalling cm11 see if that helps

Hi
I few days ago, I posted at 13 hours standby, 7 hours SOT photo which was great, as I had used the phone at full brightness 1-2 hours and a lot of music playing.
But suddenly, I only hit 4 hours, with 14 hours standby time.
Normally I get 4-5% drainage when screen is off over a whole day (GSM battery monitor), but today I got 29% drainage from screen off.
I have not installed any new apps. Any idea what this else could be? My cell signal is almost always 3-4/5
Thanks in advance
I have experienced the same thing at least twice!
I think it might possibly have something to do with having used WiFi tethering and turning it off. Only reason I think that might be the issue, is it was something I did both times. To be clear the abnormally high battery usage was not when the tethering was on but after I turned it off..
Try restarting your phone and see if this helps.
Japultra, it did for me both times . Avoiding tethering has also worked

I noticed that restarting the phone helped too. I was experiencing high drain on idle and restarted my phone and turned off LTE and assumed that turning off LTE had increased my battery, but after leaving LTE on and not experiencing high battery drain, I believe it was the reboot that suddenly upped my battery life again. I'm not sure why this happened, as it doesn't anymore - I haven't restarted my phone in several days. I don't know why it doesn't happen anymore as I haven't really changed anything I can think of that would do this, but I'm getting GREAT battery life now from the phone.
Samsung said the android it self, especially 5.0.2, is the main reason or most of those problems and that 5.1.1 will fix most of those.
We just have to wait
Like this? Can someone fix this without uninstall the app?

i know there are a lot of other threads out there, but I haven't found one that talked about the problem deeper and has a fix. anyways, I'm experiencing a serious battery drain where I charge my phone up to 100, unplug it in the morning, go to school and leave it in my pocket for 2 hours, and it ends up being 70-80% and the screen on time isn't even on the battery stats because I've barely used my phone to have it show up. As im typing this on my phone, ive even lost 2%. Is anyone experiencing something similar and is there a fix for this? At 33% now, according to the battery usage, cell standby is at the top of the list with 10% and screen on time is 25 minutes . Thanks so much
Please post some screenshots of battery stats and someone may be able to help

My phone is the same way. Even with the latest update that made cell standby way better where it sits at 1-3% my phone drains like crazy. It's been off the charger for 3 hours and 1 hour of screen on time and it's at 57%. They need a bigger battery in the s7.
Check to see if you have a VPN app installed, Firefox, Candy Crush (or other King app), or a weather app. Many use mdnsd that eats power. King apps send data all the time. And there may be some adware that you have that is eating power. Hope this helps...

Battery Drain
I have had the same problem. With the earlier update I had the issue with (what I consider) excessive drain caused by cell phone standby. With the latest update cell phone standby has taken a back seat to Android System. Here is a screenshot from today. As you can see Android System has more than twice the percentage of anything else. I reset the phone a couple of days ago but that had absolutely no effect. Went to a local Verizon store to complain which naturally went nowhere.

I did a factory reset in recovery wiped cache twice and rebooted I have had much better battery. 20-30% higher when I leave work. I also kept WiFi calling turned off not sure if that was the drainer.
Hi XDA,
I'm having some problem with my Huawei Mate P7,
Recently when the phone is in standby, it can drain the whole battery from 100% in a night of standby(while sleeping).
I've reset to factory hoping that would fix this, same problem. I updated to latest Lolipop thinking that would help, same problem...
When the phone is in Smart Power mode and I'm using it while on, the battery hardly drains. It's only in standby it seems to happen. Even not installing any apps except FB it dies.
It seems to be in the stats, 80% power usage is wifi/3g modules.
Any idea what could be going on here? Am I forgetting a setting? Is the battery a problem?
Thanks
Are WiFi settings are those?

Yip settings the same as the screenshot Except mine is "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - Only when plugged in"
So I charged it to 100% yesterday and left it switched off, plugged it back in and it had lost 40%, sitting at 60% remaining...with it switched off from 100% battery.
Starting to think the battery is dying Attached pics of usage..brand new software, reset, no apps installed, running on Smart Optimization
same battery drain. Updated to 6.0 and the problem is gone.
4.4 was fine. But all 5.1 had the same battery drain issue

Thanks for all the assistance all, I think the battery is just going bad, it takes forever to charge, leave it charging all night sometimes and its still not full tried multiple chargers too
Can't get more than 6 hours out of it it seems tried all suggestions including upgrading to 6.0(made a difference with speed much quicker now though)
Anyone got any other suggestions??
How good is your mobile signal?
If it's trying to use 4G and searching for better signal it could chew the battery. It's much easier on battery running on 3G.
Hi, I just got my U11 and using it for 5 days now. I notice that when I leave the phone at night, the phone lost battery around 10% everyday. From the battery stats, it said Cell standby is the most hungry one. Anybody found this issue?
I noticed it too, 40% battery usage was cell standby... ?
I'm seeing this too but I still get over 30 hours with up to 5 hours sot.
Guess cell standby is not draining battery, the rest just uses so little that this comes out on top.
Computed power use was 400+ mAh...
So what? I get 40 hours uptime and 7 hours SOT. The mAh reading is an estimation.
I also get standby or time without signal drain occasionally. running an unlocked sprint version on metropcs. hopefully htc releases some better radios in the near future.
Similar battery drain here for cell standby.
I'm on 1.27 stock rom.
Dual SIM with two SIM card active.
Any workaround?
Me absolutely same.. One screenshoot is on wifi second on mobile data.. Stock rooted ROM but same on unrooted
Someone has tried with Oreo firmware? Same drain?
