SO when i first started using the phone the persistent search bar on the home screen would say. "Tap or say Ok Google" something along those lines. And every time i would press home from an app or menu or w/e the little microphone would do a small animation.
I then started playing with the Google Now easter eggs where you can say different Hot Words to activate it and now the "Tap or say Ok Google" is gone and the little animation is also gone.
Its not a huge deal but does anyone know how to get it back?

Is there a way for LauncherPro to snap back to the "center" home screen after a lock? It's leaving off where I left it and I'd really like to always land on my normal home screen. TIA.
should be fixed by going into settting and setting the default page to center or what ever number page is your center..
Maybe you can try the Launcher Pro forum

Same Question I had
That was the same question I had after the new update. As in we got optical scrolling so how about being able to push the optical d pad for home screen!
You can do this with WidgetLocker. It is a paid app, but I have it and like it a lot.
I have WidgetLocker, really like it a lot and did exactly what I'm looking for (pre-LauncherPro).
Example... if I'm on my middle home screen and swipe left, hit an icon for, say, Handcent, open a text message and type away. I then lock my screen, come back to it later and unlock. It will take me to the left screen that I left off from. If I hit the Handcent icon it will take me back into the message that I left off in.
Before I put LauncherPro on my screen I would have done the above actions but the result would be that when I unlock my phone it would always snap back to the center home screen and if I open Handcent it would always open to my list of conversations, not inside the one I left off in.
I realize both small, but I'm trying to figure out if LauncherPro is worth having as a result.
Thanks.
I notice this too. Swipe to the right, play Angry Birds for a while then hit the Home button to go back home and it takes you to the page you left, not the "Default Screen".
The "Home Key Action" setting doesn't have anything to tell it go back to the default screen, so maybe we're outta luck.
Hi, I'm having a very weird problem on my phone. For some reason, all touches within Material apps seem to "register" twice and display the touch animation twice. This makes every button press in the app appear to flicker as the touch animation occurs twice quickly. If you press and hold a button, you can see better what is happening - the initial touch is displayed around the button, and then a second touch animation slowly emanates from the center. This makes all Material apps look and behave awful, with the animation flickering around everywhere. The strange thing is, it's only in Material apps and the notification/quick settings panel. Older apps and the nav buttons don't exhibit the behavior.
I've attached a quick screen recording so you can see the problem. I press some buttons normally and then press and hold so you can see what's going on. I don't know when this started but I don't believe it was like this when I first got Lollipop. Any suggestions?
Did you change anything is Settings/Developer options?
Hi guys,
so (as a musician :angel I noticed instantly that when you are listening to music and tap that home button or recent button the music gets interrupted slightly, just for a split second but enough to be really annoying (amazing speaker on this phone btw, wasn't expecting that). It is most apparent when music is playing and you press the recent button repeatedly.
Anyway, I tried to find a solution and found out that it's caused by the "now on tap" feature. I guess as soon as you hit that homebutton it starts scanning the screen or something.
Solution: You have to change the default setting for "Assistance & voice input" which you can find under Settings/Apps/Advanced/Default app settings. I use screen off and lock for this action but maybe it's enough if you just disable the "use text/screenshot from screen toggles here.
cheers
I tried your fix, but without luck. Whenever pressing the home button I get a stutter in the music. Did you do anything else besides what you described?
Hm well I completely disabled now on tap? Maybe that?
No luck
Well... some luck....
I'm on Google Now and whenever i'm on the home screen pressing the home button, dragging down notification or using the previous app menu i get a stutter in the playback. But when using the Huawei launcher music works flawlessly. So it seems to be Google Now Launcher related.
So it's partly the launchers fault. I see. It works with Nova launcher though since that's what I'm using and since I disabled the home button now on tap feature I don't have any issues with playback.
I'm having trouble finding out how to add a shortcut onto the home screen.
In Chrome I want to add a shortcut for a website as a home screen button. When I click the button "add to home screen" a notification popped up for a very short time and I could read it. It won't pop up again and I don't know what it wants me to do to solve the problem.
The same thing also happened with Google. I want to add Google weather to the home screen. In Google I searched weather and then tapped the option button, and click the add to home screen button. A quick notification popped up and disappeared again. I tried to add it over and over and nothing happens, no error notification either.
What options on permissions do I have to set?
Please help.
Sorry, not an answer to your question but as it's also home screen related, am I correct in saying there's currently no way to set which panel you want as your home screen? For instance if I want to have seven home screen panels but set the middle fourth to always return to upon launch?
I know I can use the app draw but I liked for instance, the ability with EMUI to be able to organise my apps/widgets so I could say, quickly swipe left from the home panel to see all my gaming apps grouped together, or quickly swipe the other way to see others easily.
So this is my first Samsung in a long time and in the past (up to my Pixel 5a) the picture in picture always has a square like icon so you could tap right at the screen to go back to the app. This is extremely important for me when driving and using the nav. However I've noticed that this phone (as well as my friend's S20+5g) have a "enlarge" arrow icon in the corner. Maybe I'm just not used to it but it requires a much more precise touch and it is absolutely infuriating. Is this a Samsung thing and is there anything I can do to change it back?
