You can turn off Light Flow battery notifications.

Yes! Mine is acting weird. It will sometimes just decide to not charge even though it shows it charging. Battery stats don't make sense. Battery graph shows it charging while unplugged and discharging while plugged in.

When I'm charging the banker battery, the notification will go green so I think its fully charged. But I've noticed that when I unhook the cable and use the phone for a while, then plug it back in, the notification light lights green. So I'm wondering, does the light turn green for the banker battery at a certain level even though its not fully charged?
Should I let it sit on the charger a couple more hours after the light turns green?

Charge it til it turns green, then turn the device off and charge it for another hour with it being off and it will be fully charged. This is known as bump charging, but does decrease the long-term life of your battery if it is done too often.

+1 to that!
try this: charge battery until the LED turns green. Unplug & then wait until your battery is no longer showing 100% before you try to plug it back in. Mine will show 100% for a while before going down in percentage.
I thought android phones showed green at some point in the 90 percentile range? So if your at 98% it will still be green.
From what I understand because of the old battery the phone thinks that the capacity of current battery is the same. So unless you rooted your phone and wiped battery stats, you are not reaching the full potential of your battery. Unless you turn off your phone and let the hardware judge when the battery is full.
So I currently have a Nexus 4, and I'm waiting for my new Nexus 5 to be shipped to me so I can give the Nexus 4 to my wife.
I have two LG WCP-300 wireless chargers for my N4 and about 80% of the time you take it off the charging pad a wakelock keeps the CPU from going in to deep sleep. I then have to reboot the phone.
Does the Nexus 5 still do this?
If it is fixed, did KitKat fix the issue (i.e. will the N4 be fixed too) or is there some sort of hardware change in the N5 that fixed it?
Thanks!
I think the short answer is "no", but here's the long answer...
I've never had the wakelock issue that causes the phone to drain like crazy after it's been removed from a wireless charger, but the problem I do have is the wakelock keeps the phone from sleeping while it's on the charger. So my phone fully charges in a couple of hours when I go to bed, but by the time I grab it in the morning the battery has drained to 75 or 80%. Luckily I haven't had the issue where this continues to be a problem throughout the day.
I upgraded to KitKat yesterday (from factory image, without a wipe), but I had the same problem overnight. I kind of doubt it will help, but I'm considering wiping my phone to see if that will fix the issue. I'm hoping that whatever bug it was in 4.3 got fixed, but my lack of a wipe let it creep into 4.4. Unlikely, I know, but I can hope. Sorry for the bad news.
No wakelocks with wireless charging on my N5 to date, but I've only been through a couple of cycles since I got it on Friday. How often does it occur with your N4?
Yea, Google fixed the issue. I had it bad with the Nexus 4, but charging the Nexus 5 using the same Orb I have absolutely no issues.
haven't experienced this wakelock issue myself yet. Just got my wireless charger yest and works fine.
I had the wakelock problem with my N4 but have had no issue with my N5

I have zero wake locks with the N5 since launch day. Wireless charging I use every day. No issues ever.

OK - I've started using my Nexus 5 full-time and I'm using the wireless charger - a LG WCP-300, which should be high enough quality to be a "reliable" charger for the N4/N5. I'll report back if I have the same issue I had with 4.3 and the N4, as the results here seem to be mixed.

same problem here with nexus 4 and no change after updating to 4.4
the problem is 2 part
1) fast drain if the phone is left on the carger when fully charged
(if removed when full it will discharge much more slowly)
2) charging never restarts no matter how low the battery goes unless the power to the charger is interrupted
or the phone is removed from the charger and replaced.
forcing a reboot with tasker does not restart charging
I put the charger on an outlet timer that turns it off for 1 minute at 6am.
that restarts the charging so I can wake up with a nearly full charge.
this works. if you set the timer for 1-3 hours before your normal wakeup
time you're gonna have a nearly full charge when you get up because most
of the time the charger will not turn off for quite awhile after 100 charge is reached
and it will stay at 100% until the charger turns off (charger light turns to green from blue).
there may be other chargers that don't have the same problem.
mine is the round flat charger you see on ebay that comes with different color rings for about $22

I'm using the same charger, but I don't think this is charger specific. My girlfriend's S3 (which I think is on 4.2.1) charges perfectly with several different wireless chargers using an add-on wireless charging receiver.
Clever solution, btw. But it would be great if this would just work the way it's supposed to. :-/
Hi everyone
My nexus 5 won't charge. That is, it says it's charging, but sits at 0% and won't budge. I've tried 4 different USB cables with the stock charger and the Nexus 7 2012 charger.
I'm running stock 4.3.3 with towel root and SuperSU from the play store. I was using the phone normally today when all of a sudden it switched off. It didn't say "powering off", it just went black. I probably had about 12% battery left at this point.
I plugged it into the stock charger and USB cable and the notification light started flashing red. I left it like that for about 5 minutes, booted into the bootloader and reset the phone, after which it seemed to be charging. However the percentage just dropped from 12% to 0% in about half an hour - despite being "charging" and the phone being left alone apart for some minor WhatsApp-ing.
Anyone experience anything similar or have a solution?
Thanks!
Switch off the device completely and put it on a wall charger for an hour or so and then boot it up and see if it has charged or not?

-- this is "normal symptoms" of fully discharged battery
plug your phone to charger for about 10-12 hours
I have same symptoms...
but the battery is not discharged
phone vibrates when i press start button///and after that it starts to blink red led...
It was tested in other phone and fully charged.
That happened after the display+digitizer replacement.

Thank you!
This turned out to be true in my case.
I am using a Nubia Z9 mini BTW.
I was using my phone after about 5 days of it being kept idle.
The red circle light started flashing when i plugged in the charger.
But i let it charge for 5 minutes and i got the 1% charging symbol.
The phone has been working fine since!
Cheers!!
@wladimir_tm So when the phone is completely discharged it needs to be charged for more than 10 hours, is that what you are saying? Phone battery got over while on call. Now it's almost 8 hours since I've been charging and nothing has happened so far.
I have a same problem
I m now using red magic 5g .. i was playing pubg ..I forgot to plug charger.. after 1 % mobile turn off … when i was playing pubg .. i try to turn on after plugging charger but can’t .. i plug charger but only red notification light blinking.
I noticed that when I plug my phone in to charge when powered off, the battery percentage is always lower then when I turn my phone on. For instance it was just at 25%, then when I powered my phone on while still plugged in, the battery jumped up to 47%. Any reason why? Does my battery needs to be calibrated or something?
No idea why this is happening but no, your battery does not need to be "calibrated"
