Galaxy Tab 2 P-3100.
The battery of this tablet is not getting charged.
If the battery is removed & then Charged seprately, it charges perfectly.
But it doesnt charge when it is in the tab via normal charger.
So i replaced the MotherBoard of the tabet, still the same issue.
Its not getting charged.
i Also tried changing the Cable as well as the power adaptor, but still the same issue.
A red Cross appears at the battery indicator along with lightning bolt.
Pls help whats the issue with it.

Ive been using my s3 for about 40 minutes on CM10. Plugged into a dual usb charger connected to not ip port, which in the past i have used fine. I have lost 5% battery in this time. Current widget doesn't work yet with S3. Suggestions?
Edit - The first time I got the phone after a full charge and discharge, while plugged into stock charger and before anything root, the same problem happened.

From what I heard, the charger can't charge the phone fast enough when you are using it thus the losing charge while plugging in. If you are talking about losing percentage right after you disconnect the phone from the charger, that is a feature, I do not know at the top of my head why it does it.
If charging through USB port (and many car chargers) you're capped at 500mA vs 700+ for wall chargers. You can install a kernel that supports fast charging and you will get 700mA through USB.

I'm having the same issue whether charging from usb or a power outlet. Charges for a bit initially, then drains. Happens with different cords, too. I'll pick it up and it will feel warm, see that the battery is lower than when I plugged it in, then put it down. Then it cools off and starts charging again. Any ideas?
Same here except
i have the same issue, i had stock Touchwiz and suddenly the phone started to discharge while on charging outlet, tried different chargers, outlets, different ports, etc. still wouldnt work, i even deleted several applications and turned off several phone functions, etc. still nothing, then i rooted to CM10.1 and the same issue still presists, the phone charges a bit then discharges weather i use it or not. the only solution to charge it, it seems to be by turning off the phone. i think it has to do with the usb port on the phone as i even had the battery changed and it still would discharge while on a charger.

Hello,
When I charge my Nexus 5, the battery icon keeps on showing it is charging even so the battery is at 100%. Also my USB charger (not the one LG one) indicates that the device is still charging. Is this normal ? Would this damage the battery ?
Thanks
It's normal.

Thanks ! (But i just find this weird as I expected a device to stop at 100%)
I understand what you're saying but it's not a charging icon, it's a connected to power icon. If you were to use something like the dashclock extension it would show that it actually stopped charging once it reached 100%
Thanks for the reply.
The thing is that I have this charger http://www.portablepowersupplies.co.uk/portapow-quad-usb-mains-charger/) and the LED indicates charging (albeit I did not measure the current ).
Nice unit!
Are you connected to WiFi while charging? I had the really bad battery drain issue while connected to WiFi after the 4.4.2 update. I lost about 30% of charge after 4ish hours while connected. Currently I'm at 92% after 3 hours.
The WiFi battery drain could be causing your phone to not fully charge or at the very least make your charger THINK it's not fully charged. No harm should come of it either way but it's always best to pull your phone off the charger once it gets to 99-100%
Thanks for the reply. I had Wifi activated; it might be the reason.
My wireless charger LED didn't shut off when my N5 was charged in a powered off state. Usually it does once the battery is full.
That said, I don't think it's over-charging the battery, as that would be really bad

Don't worry about it. This isn't the 2000s where constant charging is an issue.
Just tried with the Wifi Off. My USB charger then indicates that the unit is not charging.
Thanks for the replies and great help.
Don't worry about it. The charger isn't the thing that determines how charging is handled, it's all done on the phone side. The phone knows how to take and stop taking power.
In the case of the Nexus 5, it most-likely stops charging the battery but continues using the power from the charger to actually power the unit (thereby no-longer using the battery to run the device, but not charging it any longer).
I bought a stock samsung battery for my galaxy s3. I am trying to charge it but it is not moving forward at all. I've powered off the phone, plugged in the battery and then plugged in a usb cord to charge it.
The results are the same no matter where I charge it.
I've tried two different AC adaptors and a usb cord to the computer.
When I plug in the power source, the phone vibrates once, shows the galaxy s3 logo, displays a battery charging status showing 0% charged. The battery is filling up green indicating that it's charging. It will perform the animation of filling the battery twice then the screen goes blank.
I've left it plugged in for a while now but it doesn't seem the be actually charging. I cannot turn the phone on with it plugged into a power source or not.
If I put the old battery back in, everything is fine.
I'm running the latest cyanogenmod m4 release.
The new battery you got is obviously a dud. Replace it

My nexus 5 went to 0% battery one night and died. I tried charging it with 4 different chargers, some with usb some outlet and a wireless charger to no avail. I then purchased 2 new batteries and the phone was able to turn on with the replacement ones. However they would not charge. On the battery status screen it would go from saying Charging (on AC or USB depending on how i was trying to charge it) for 5~ seconds to saying Not Charging. The charging icon was still on the little toolbar battery icon but it would not charge. So those two new batteries are dead :good:. So I thought maybe software issue, I had enough juice to get in the bootloader and flash back to 4.4.4 which would still not allow it to charge. Then I started flashing to other versions and eventually back to 5.1.1 to no avail. I replaced the charging port with one from my brothers nexus 5 and it still would not work. My battery and charging port worked in his phone however.
Now I don't know what to do! This is the first phone I've really had to research about bootloaders and roms and stuff so I'm fresh.
TL;DR: Phone goes from charging for 5 sec to not charge with different software versions (4.4.4, 5.1.1 +more), with many different chargers (including one that came with phone), with new battery and new charging port.
Thanks.
Mine did that with a new battery also. The new battery was a dud--I contacted the seller, who sent me another battery, and that one does charge.

I've tried 3 different batteries including my brothers nexus 5 battery which charges in his phone so I am confident its not a battery issue now.

if the actual USB port is working on ur brother's and so is the battery, i am afraid then u have a bad Motherboard...
theres a Texas Instruments BQ24192 I2C controller chip, that is what regulates charging, such as voltage, etc...
if it doesnt even respond to wireless charging, that may be bad https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+5+Teardown/19016#s53734
that would be my guess....
Well technically it responds to it but it only lasts for a few seconds. Wireless charging and wired charging get a response from the phone by changing it to say charging on ac or usb or whatever but it just goes back to saying not charging after ~5 seconds. Is this still a bad mother board you think? Is it worth it to try and purchase a motherboard or just get a new phone?
Any solution for this? Came later but did come to this problem.
My Galaxy Note 10.1 M480W doesn't seem to be holding it's charge.
It shows that is is charged but shuts down when it still shows plenty of battery left.
Have tried:
New genuine cables
2A (or greater) chargers
USB port charging
Battery calibration apps
Would replacing the battery fix this issue and where can I get a new battery from?
Thanks
