Does anyone know any of those boot ani that you can find for lots of phones? I know for example the Z Ultra has one for it.
Obviously they are edited to show the specs of the phone but yea.

It's very simple to create Bootanimation...
You have simple txt file desc.txt in which you can set resolution, loop animation and first animation.
You have great tools for creating animations...
I have few of my own but just can't find time to create new ones

Wow, my post was badly worded.
What I meant was.. Some boot animations have this bios boot animation reading the specs of the phones etc. So I was wondering if someone knew if it existed for Z1 !

Honani bootanimation. Thanks for share..

Those bootanimations don't really read the specs for the phone, they are made up of images just like all bootanimations. You could just take the ones already in existence and resize the images in the .zip, change the wording on the images and then put it on your Z1

Save and put bootanimation.zip in system/media

Yeah...just download.

Use Google search, not XDA and you'll find it without any problems.

Just use Google and find resolution for your phone.

Why would I want a bios bootani for Nexus on my Z1 ?
I've googled and there are lots of bios bootani but how does that help me. You can't just edit the text from the png like that so it's pretty useless.
I could wipe the current text and redo all 100+ pictures but thats lots of work, hence why I asked here first.

If you want to built your own Bootanimation, use that pngs and and programs for PC - it's damm easy.
If I or someone else have animation we would post it but we don't have so - try to find it.
You have Google and search like we all do.
On that first link you have animation for 10-15 devices - maybe there's one for your resolution - don't search for your phone, search for your resolution.
And there's animations for many phones, not only Nexus.
Bootanimation is bootanimation - diference is only on resolution. - I thought you know that.
Download for other phone, edit pngs and build bootanimation if you don't like text on it.
You have tutorials on YouTube - and it's very easy to do that.

I asked if anyone knew if there was a BIOS bootani tailored for Z1 , not some random bootanimation.
It's time consuming which is why I asked first instead of redoing one.
So all in all, I don't want a bios bootani for another phone on my Z1, because that would defeat the purpose.
I've googled and I guess the only solution is to edit one . Sorry for being so confusing at the beginning.

I tried both of these and they both didn't work. I tried other bootanimations and they worked fine. I'm on a Nexus 5, but that shouldn't matter. I'd really like this to work on my device as I can't find the Xperia Z1's stock Jelly Bean bootanimation either. I need that one, too. Thank you!

Thanks much appreciated!
no problem, if u need help making one just let me know
can you look at this please and see why it wont work..
Process is totally different to the g1 as the boot animation resides in a different place and is actually a collection ofpng images.
I haven't been able to get it working either i have tried rezipping the files after editing. Tried dropping the images into a zip without unzipping. Alwaysr results in a black screen. Maybe one of the guys who have got it going can help?
its not different for a g1 using a 2.1 rom.
problem is you have a folder called bootanimation within the zip, it should just be bootanimation.zip with part0, part1 and desc.txt
and the images are compressed within the zip, the zip should be set to store only

U are right, some of these bootanimations are from another devices but there are others that fit in sensation screen.
I like this one in particular.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/68213162/bootanims/fkapple+18resC.rar
You have a very large collection of boot animations, but you really should make .gif files out of them and post them here so everyone can get a preview of them. Also for all those that want to see what they look like without having to install them on your device, just download the bootanimation and use Recognized Developer despotovski01's Boot Animation Factory to preview it on your computer. Or you cann just extract the files and use a image viewer to rapidly flip through the files. And for the bootanimations that are not scaled for the Sensation you just need to re scale all the images and then follow the instructions in the OP of despotovski01's thread to re zip the bootanimation then install it.

Gingerbread theme based on Xperia S and ICS

I've been theming my Xperia Play a bit lately. I was using the Xperia S theme (which I got from jjkkyu), but I noticed that, although I dislike ICS's abstract theme, some of it (the not so abstract bits) look better than Xperia S's theme. Namely the context menus/popups and the toast. So I began incorporating that into the theme. I've also made the folders of Xperia Home and the the menus (those that pop up upon pressing the menu key) look like that.
I never liked how Xperia S's dock looked, so I made a simpler (and IMO better) looking one myself. The launcher is also modified to not display theme choosing options, because Sony themes are pretty useless, especially on a not-Xperia-S phone, because they only seem to change the background. And it only has 3 screens/panes/whatevers. That's easy to change, though.
The menu icons of some Xperia S apps were designed for a white background, but I prefer a black background, so I fixed that everywhere I could notice it.
I've also made the battery icon display the battery percentage inside of it. The clockopia font is surprisingly easy to read, even in very low resolution.
I was also dissatisfied with the spinner, so I made another one and I think it's marvelous, even if I say so myself. It's two spinning gears for the big spinners and one gear for the little ones.
In case any of you are still using Gingerbread, I present to you Gingerbread Theme Based on Xperia S and ICS (it's a working title).
You don't actually have to read any of the above, it doesn't list all of the changes, anyway. It's just that the original post of some work would look very weird if it didn't say anything. I suggest you just look at the screenshots, which can be found in their entirety in a zip attachment.
Installation:
0. Before you do step 1, it would be wise to make sure a file manager is in your recently run apps
1. Uninstall Home.apk (sometimes this needs to be done, sometimes not)
2. Put the contents of framework.zip into /system
3. Set the permission of all the apks to 644 (rw-r--r--)
4. Move them into /system/framework
5. Put the contents of app.zip into /system
6. Set the permission of all the apks to 644 (rw-r--r--)
7. Move them into /system/app (move SystemUI.apk last)
8. Reboot
Note: The zips aren't flashable. They're just zips.
UPDATE: A flashable zip is now available here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ns4ka5244xb4bfo
Made by xda-developers user techdevilisnowmonster.
This theme is mostly just a modified Xperia S theme, so to get a full Xperia S theme, you should install jjkkyu's theme before installing this.

Frankly, I don't know. It's not very dangerous to try, though. The worst that can happen is probably a boot loop, which can be easily fixed by using flashtool, if you've got a locked bootloader. You only need to flash loader and system and you don't even lose any configuration, all that will be different is that the system apps will be restored.
I suggest you find out what people say for other mods where you have to replace framework-res.apk (if anything should cause trouble, it would probably be this file).
It looks pretty nice. Good work!
What I usually do to restore if anything goes bad is open the zip and replace apks inside with my current apks and rename it restore!

Probably not, as if it changes the framework it will most likely bootloop. You've probably tried it by now and already may have found that out though.

[MOD] Offline charging animation for Xperia J/ST26i (.rle files)

Hello Everyone.
I would like to share with You piece of my work.
This is a converted graphics from unknown source (so if it yours write to me on forum and I'll put you on credits).
My work was only find where files are and convert new ones.
So here are a screenshot and CWM package as attachments below.
Tested on ICS (.75) and I think should work on JB (please confirm).
Edit 18.07.2013: Works on JB, tested on AVD Rom Stock 4.1.2.
Edit 26.07.2013: File updated, read post 14 and 15 for more information.
Edit 11.08.2013: 3 more animations in Dropbox folder, for Xperia J please chose 480x854 folder.
.
To developers:
You can use it for free but just give mi a shout if you are interested.

Many thanks for DooMLoRD and his graphics converter without it this wouldn't possible (theard).

This is really easy, research took much more time than preparing it self.
On DooMLoRDs thread is a file called boot_screen_logo_creation_package.rar just use it to convert prepared previously files.
In my Xperia J files are located at /system/etc/chgani/. Check on your phone if there are at the same location or search for them.

About the .png images, do it have to be exactly same size as stock image, or can we make it bigger, maybe filling up the entire screen? Too much black surrounding it.

I really don't know. Converter available on DooMLoRDs theard and usage is extremely easy.
convert_image_to_rle.bat filename.png
You get two files .raw and .rle. Rename rle files from ca01.rle to ca07.rle and copy them to /system/etc/. And that's it.

I tried one of those and I had exactly the same effect. Did you check size of image? I think it might be to huge.
...
I checked it already and seems to this might be the problem. Maximum size on HDPI device is 480x854 and animation 2 size is 540x960.
In that case you have to resize your graphics and convert them again.

I checked it already and seems to this might be the problem. Maximum size on HDPI device is 480x854 and animation 2 size is 540x960.
In that case you have to resize your graphics and convert them again.

[BOOTANIMATION] Android Lollipop (Xperia M2)

Hello everybody!
I've just "ported" the bootanimation from the Android Lollipop Preview from Nexus 5, I've resized every picture one by one so that they match the screen resolution of our smartphone
Also, I've created a new bootsound, that combines the old Xperia Bootanimation and the song that Google used in the intro of the I/O Keynote of this year

Demo video:
Download: MEGA / Dropbox
Instructions: Move to /system/media and give permission RW-R-R
Hope you enjoyed it, and if so, hit the thanks button
Added demo video to OP, so that those who didn't tried it yet are able to check out how it looks like

Sorry, I think that's not possible, check that some people, like JanM RS and Ben Ling, have already tried with Sony's SDKs to make a theme for Xperia Themes, but it didn't work because it needs the SuperUser Mod, so let's see if it's still necesary to root the device when KK arrives, or if we are able to use it at 100%..
BTW, check this post, it's a request for CyanogenMod to bring official support for our device, you might be interested, maybe, if they bring us support, we might have Android L rom's in the future :fingers-crossed:
Thanks man!
Thats look nice i guess,, so i'll try to port to mine..thank u..

Yes. U need a rooted device for sure.
Upppppp (so that new ones can check this amazing bootanimation )
Cool bro! Keep it up
Works great on my Xperia M2 Dual:good:
works fine on D2305, it's a bit blurry at the edges but the resizing must have messed it up
one kool tip for people who are paranoid about changing the boot animation and bricking their device is to:
1)be rooted ofc
2)IMPORTANT!!!: RENAME NOT REPLACE
3)now you can move the "new" boot animation to /system/media
4)now navigate to /system/bin
5)find the script "bootanimation" it shouldn't be "bootanimation.sh" or anything else just "bootanimation", may be diffrent for other devices but it should be consistance across all android devices
6)if it shows the new animation then done! :victory::victory::victory:
7)else, go back, delete the "new" one and rename the old boot animation to it original name "bootanimation.zip"
8)check all the contents of the "new" one and perform a MD5/hash checksum on it, then take it from step 2 again
i'll personally keep another copy of the boot animation on my PC so i can adb push it if all fails
