I received my EC Technology 2800mah for my S4 last week, bought from Amazon US for a very nice price of 9$ only
It's not NFC ready.
It has the same dimensions as the stock 2600mah from Samsung though with an extra 200mah and a few grams more,so yes it fits perfectly your S4 with the original battery cover.
So +200mah really make a difference?
Yes!
At least with me it lasted about half a day more than with my stock 2600mah battery.
I used Viber for about 50 mins,WIFI was ON for at least 6 hours, screen brightness was on Auto +5 (highest auto-brightness),about 30 mins of GSM calls,1 hour of Whatsapp, music in car with BT and screen half of the time ON for 1 hour...

Could you continue testing for a few more days and post back? 200 mah is a 7% increase in battery capacity and you are reporting 12 hours of additional battery life. Although this loses NFC functionality, this still sounds to good to be true, but in case it is true, I want one!
Opteka makes a 3000mAh replacement that works great. NFC support is lacking. I bought a Note 2 antennae for NFC to stick inside the battery door. NFC issue solved.

Yeah, I know. I have it. You can try but my NFC doesn't work with that battery. I tried. I got the Note solution. I got my battery directly from Opteka.

So do you actually notice a difference compared to stock battery? How much screen on time do you get on average? Also, zerolemon or opteka?
I got the Opteka because they have a two year warranty and I know them from their camera equipment. I haven't really checked the screen time. Before the battery I could get through the day if I was careful. Now it doesn't matter. YMMV

I too have the $8.99 Opteka from Amazon. It weighs 44g, the same exact weight as the stock battery. I don't see how they can squeeze an extra 400 mAh reserve capacity without doing this (and I don't think they're capable of doing that - I'm sure this is just a relabeled core). Furthermore, my real life experience with it after a few charges shows no improvement over stock, with similar usage pattern (checked with Better Battery Stats). If anyone felt an improvement over stock, it's very possible that the stock was a dud or the usage pattern is different or it's placebo. But take this with a grain of salt - I'm not discounting anyone's experience with Opteka, it's just my own direct observation.
I already ordered a Qi receiver with NFC antenna, so I'm returning the Opteka and going to try ZeroLemon next. Might be difficult to close the battery door with the ZeroLemon and the Qi/Nfc plate, but we'll see...

Hey guys,..well Ive got the Cameron Sino 3000mah battery, thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789679
But just found out there also now a 3500mah battery available..so I couldnt help myself and gave it a go.Just bought yesterday so will take a week or so to arrive.
This one as with the other high capacity batteries also comes with a custom back cover..but instead of the all fat ones like the Cameron Sino one the top bit where the speaker and camera are is still slimmer..only the bulge where the battery is is fatter...personally I think that doesnt look as good as all fat cover (not as natural..looks more like an add on) but I guess with this way there's no black edges on the corner of photo's like some people are reporting with the all fat ones.
Anyway..there's a few sellers on ebay selling them but this is the cheapest I found:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3500M-EXTEND...092212?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a0b1d3df4
Ha ha...I see its now USD $13 posted..yesterday when I clicked by now it was only USD $10.99
For me about AUD $11.48..(since current exchange rate is great now the time for us Aussies to buy from the U.S )
I bought it on Ebay for 11 Euro.
Looks good for long trips

Damn,he's now dropped the price again. This time down to USD $10.15! Thats even cheaper than what I paid..come on guys...gotta try it for that price..
I have already got the Cameron Sino 3000mah battery, but at 6.61GBP i thought i might as well order this one. Might well be a load of crap and might not even arrive, but its worth a go
Exactly.
I got the 3000mah Cameron Sino one too but had to try this one for that price.
Plus, dont forget, the back cover is a little different. Only the bottom section is fat,the top, where the camera and speaker are remains thinner so anyone who had complaints of the Cameron Sino all fat back cover making black edges around photos and the speaker a little muffled shouldnt complain here.
(Despite looking a little worse though I think)
Does anyone know how long this battery can hold a charge for?
would it be about 2.2xs longer?
Does anyone know a case that fits this? Preferably one that stays permanently on like those silicon ones?
What i don't get is that all of the extended batteries are so BIG..
Why not make a battery that is about 2 milimeter thicker and a case that only is bigger above the battery compartment..
In other words if you extend the 2/3 mm high hump on the regular cover about 1.5 inch on the SGS, you would have more room to put in a little bigger (2200mah) battery and you would still have a nice looking phone..
I would also like to know if theres any cases available for this size format. And its so weird how the capacity is ~2x more, but the size is 4x more lol.
My god, grrrr more batteries to buy! I'm starting to have way too many batteries. But its sooo cheap!!

Hmm.. A li-ion Polymore batter could be moulded to almost any shape and hold just a tad lower amps.. But they tend to be hell expensive compared to brick size li-ions that we rock. Iphones use li-ion polymore batts. But yeh, What i'm saying is taht we COULD get a decent size and shape but it would prob cost 2-3x more. I would love a batt thats say 2mm thick and cover whole back of the device which would maybe give it about 2500mah or more.

Gee,I see the prices have increased. When I bought mine you could get them for under USD$11 posted. As I did.
I have 3500mAh baterry now. It can joice my phone for a week, but it is kinda heavy and ugly, so I am using it only if I have to leave town for a weekend. It can survive even hard usage, playing games, and such. Took it from eBay.
I got mine delivered today. Charging as we speak. I ran across a site that exposes fake batteries and worry if this 3500mah battery is really just a big 2000mah battery now. Heres the site. What I noticed is that these ultra expensive Mugen batteries are so lowly rated. It seems that OEM batteries are best but they don't have a 3000mah battery! Hmmmmmmm

Depends on which battery you bought; I'm guessing it was an aftermarket one - there are lots of 'em flying around only some of them are better than the stock one.
Don't just believe the mah they state on the battery.
i'd check this thread, a lot of good stuff written on buying high mAH batteries of places like ebay.
Thank you for this post
There are some people who have had unpleasant surprises when changing battery
I was wondering about batteries made in China.
I will focus on a battery where there will be a good return, like your 1800 mah stock ;-)

I have a chinese battery (otb original) and, when it's some hours power the phone with that battery, is like if I'm making long press on home key, and constantly jump the window with last open applications. As if it were a charged capacitor...
Many of the batteries you can find on ebay etc are fake. The mAH is just a sticker and easily printed
A fairly good/simple way to test is to weigh the batteries. If the new battery is lighter, it almost definitely is fake.
Another way is to peel off the sticker. Usually the manufacturer will print the actual capacity on the aluminium thing under the sticker (I peeled off the sticker of a 2.99 battery that was '1500' mAH - said it was 1000 underneath).
Is this too good to be real? I think they have less capacity. Anyone bought 1800mAh batteries from ebay that really are 1.8Ah? It would be nice if the saler ship worldwide.
I am looking to buy an extra battery, the current one holds about 8-12h of (heavy?) usage, Wi-Fi always ON, 3G/2G depending on the signal, most of the time full brightness, 20min-2h games or movies, 20min browsing the web and a few calls, at most 20min and frequently looking at the clock.
I bought an anker 1800 from amazon, as far as I can tell it's genuine

but automy is perfect with it !
From what i've read mugen are very credible for extended batteries, as are momax. Momax make a 1800mAH (to my best memory) which is the same size as the normal, or the 2700mAH battery which is a little thicker, but apparently gives a very good battery life
I`m using PolarCell 1800mAh and I`m very happy with staying power.
I have been using the Zerolemon 7500 mah battery for about 2 weeks and I am blown away about how well this battery preforms. It has lasted me 1 day and 21 hours with still 20% of battery left. This battery comes with NFC, TPU case, and great customer service. Overall, I love this extended battery!:good:
Here's my video review:
What was your screen on time and all that jazz?
As I've said in the past.
There are only really 2 options I think people should consider.
1) Stock with swap outs with Samsung charger and battery.
2) Zerolemon 7500 mah battery.
I've been very happy with my ZL 7500 MAH battery. Don't have any glaring issues that stick out right now that I have to mention. The only drawback *MIGHT* be the weight, but I don't find a problem with it.

So there is actually a space between the battery and the speaker which allows for the air to reverberate.
Capacity wise...wow, but I would rather carry an external charging pack than destroy the aesthetics of the phone. Not for me but if you travel regularly, it will be perfect.

The bigger issue with battery exchange is the type of protection that you're looking for in your case.
If you have a case like a defender or any other rather case that is rather time consuming to put on and remove, then battery exchange is not exactly ideal solution.
Also having another free floating item in your pockets is rather not ideal either.
Most people would rather not have to carry 2 items when they can carry 1.
Granted for some aesthetics trumps function, so to each their own.

I've been using this battery for a while now it's flawless!
The single downside (apart from the obvious weight and size that people seem to argue from the get go)
the sound isn't as loud as when using the stock battery, however the space between the bottom of the battery and the handset itself has enough room to fold a piece of card to ensure the speaker is kept clear and thus the sound reaches the bottom ports in the case as desired, this may not sound pretty or a particularly advanced method, but it works and you can't see this method with the case on anyway.
Give it a try I assure you, you will notice the difference!
As for the only charge once a month on the instructions... I contacted ZeroLemon...
To allow the battery to fully drain to 0% once a month, the other times charge from 2%
Click to collapse
I always charge around 2-5% and allow it to die fully once a month.
The other thing you can do when using this, assuming you're rooted...
Two apps; Android Tuner & BatteryCalibration
Android tuner > Battery Manager > Calibration > Manage > Edit Current Battery > Name: ZeroLemon Capacity: 7500
BatteryCalibration will tell you exactly what to do. However, Android tuner has been the more accurate of the two methods.
* In both methods ensure battery is full (100%) before doing this.
Hope this helps.
Make sure not drop your phone with this battery, if is so heavy, when my phone dropped to the floor, it likes a rock, cracked the phone screen to pieces.

There are tradeoffs. They may not have wanted to add the few pennies cost.

It took mine about five or six cycles before it started getting better than stock. I think mine started off about 2700 or so. Not I'm getting about 3100 out of it.

It's not about physics. It's about the phones ability to recognize the cutoff voltage of the battery, no it doesn't gain actual capacity(actually, per every cycle it loses capacity). It just gives the phones software a frame of reference for when to shut down at a critical point. Early in the batteries life the phone has to learn the limits of thay battery. That's why our phones store battery stats. I should have worded my response better, but that's not ignoring the physics. The reason that Zerolemons have a higher capacity is strictly because they are larger, albeit slightly, than the stock batteries. They don't use special cells that have more internal energy available to them. This is a slight illustration of what I am talking about. I didn't take any screen shots when it was registering less than 3k, but after every cycle it would increase the frame of reference that the phone is using.

It took a few cycles before the Opteka battery behaved better than stock. Now waiting for the NFL antennae. But 3000mah is pretty cool.

I haven't seen any thread on this so I decided to start one. I've been using the zerolemon 3000mah(what they marketed it as) batteries after my stock one bloated and gave out. Well, the problem is the wall charger that they come with is very low quality. So I've been looking at the official samsung battery kit and was wondering if it will be able to charge my stock-sized zerolemon's too.
Those who are using it, feel free to comment and discuss. [emoji2]
It works great!
I've been using it and it works great it lets me keep my battery in good health getting a full recgarge and discharge it charges the batteries really fast as well althougj im just using the stock battery im sure you wont have a problem charging youre larger size you just may not be abel to close the door on charging kit which isnt much of a problem

Lol. Hope yours isn't a chinese knockoff then. They are cheaper and I've seen ppl posting pics of their entire charger burnt up with the battery inside. [emoji33]
Haha
Lol haha no sir it actually had the samsung paperwork instructions with it so its definitely not a knockoff I would be upset if that happened

That's good. Coz samsung sells it for an exorbitant amount.

Great solution but heave and thick.

I did consider that. But yeah I don't think I'll prefer the added size of that thing. Just enjoy swapping batteries and getting them charged up quickly more.
Plus I don't live in the U.S so I would need to pay extra for a forwarder to ship it over. Enjoy that massive battery life, buddy. [emoji1]

I have a 5800 mah battery, it lasts 3 days at best. My original battery barely lasted 1 day. I am pretty happy with the battery but the phone is defenseless against falls:crying:

Get a tempered glass screen protector on it and you'll be fine. [emoji41]
UPDATE: Alright in case anyone is interested, I managed to get the s4's extra battery kit at a pretty cheap price (usd39) off my local seller. [emoji16]
And good news to those of u using aftermarket stock-sized batteries. They DO work with the external charger. I'm using zerolemon's and the charger gave off a flashing ember initially when I tried to charge it. But after awhile of fiddling with it I got it to work. [emoji1] It charges almost as fast as plugging your phone directly to the ac. Now I don't need to plug my phone to the wall ever again.
