Hey guys,..well Ive got the Cameron Sino 3000mah battery, thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789679
But just found out there also now a 3500mah battery available..so I couldnt help myself and gave it a go.Just bought yesterday so will take a week or so to arrive.
This one as with the other high capacity batteries also comes with a custom back cover..but instead of the all fat ones like the Cameron Sino one the top bit where the speaker and camera are is still slimmer..only the bulge where the battery is is fatter...personally I think that doesnt look as good as all fat cover (not as natural..looks more like an add on) but I guess with this way there's no black edges on the corner of photo's like some people are reporting with the all fat ones.
Anyway..there's a few sellers on ebay selling them but this is the cheapest I found:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3500M-EXTEND...092212?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a0b1d3df4
Ha ha...I see its now USD $13 posted..yesterday when I clicked by now it was only USD $10.99
For me about AUD $11.48..(since current exchange rate is great now the time for us Aussies to buy from the U.S )
I bought it on Ebay for 11 Euro.
Looks good for long trips

Damn,he's now dropped the price again. This time down to USD $10.15! Thats even cheaper than what I paid..come on guys...gotta try it for that price..
I have already got the Cameron Sino 3000mah battery, but at 6.61GBP i thought i might as well order this one. Might well be a load of crap and might not even arrive, but its worth a go
Exactly.
I got the 3000mah Cameron Sino one too but had to try this one for that price.
Plus, dont forget, the back cover is a little different. Only the bottom section is fat,the top, where the camera and speaker are remains thinner so anyone who had complaints of the Cameron Sino all fat back cover making black edges around photos and the speaker a little muffled shouldnt complain here.
(Despite looking a little worse though I think)
Does anyone know how long this battery can hold a charge for?
would it be about 2.2xs longer?
Does anyone know a case that fits this? Preferably one that stays permanently on like those silicon ones?
What i don't get is that all of the extended batteries are so BIG..
Why not make a battery that is about 2 milimeter thicker and a case that only is bigger above the battery compartment..
In other words if you extend the 2/3 mm high hump on the regular cover about 1.5 inch on the SGS, you would have more room to put in a little bigger (2200mah) battery and you would still have a nice looking phone..
I would also like to know if theres any cases available for this size format. And its so weird how the capacity is ~2x more, but the size is 4x more lol.
My god, grrrr more batteries to buy! I'm starting to have way too many batteries. But its sooo cheap!!

Not to mention the the original Samsung 1500mah one.

Hmm.. A li-ion Polymore batter could be moulded to almost any shape and hold just a tad lower amps.. But they tend to be hell expensive compared to brick size li-ions that we rock. Iphones use li-ion polymore batts. But yeh, What i'm saying is taht we COULD get a decent size and shape but it would prob cost 2-3x more. I would love a batt thats say 2mm thick and cover whole back of the device which would maybe give it about 2500mah or more.

Gee,I see the prices have increased. When I bought mine you could get them for under USD$11 posted. As I did.
I have 3500mAh baterry now. It can joice my phone for a week, but it is kinda heavy and ugly, so I am using it only if I have to leave town for a weekend. It can survive even hard usage, playing games, and such. Took it from eBay.
I got mine delivered today. Charging as we speak. I ran across a site that exposes fake batteries and worry if this 3500mah battery is really just a big 2000mah battery now. Heres the site. What I noticed is that these ultra expensive Mugen batteries are so lowly rated. It seems that OEM batteries are best but they don't have a 3000mah battery! Hmmmmmmm

Arghh makes the phone a real brick! I would've been happy with a 2000 mAH if it would keep the thickness down!
Ridiculously big! I agree, make a 2000-2500 battery and only extend the hump on the back only over the whole battery. Should still look real slick and doesn't make the phone look like a lunchbox
Agreed, 2000-2500 would be fine as long as the thickness can be kept down to a maximum of about the iPhone 3GS.
As the poster above said, ideally just make the entirety of the back plate the thickness of the Galaxy S's hump on the lower part instead of sucking inward anmd use the extra space for the battery.
My question is, can the batteries be made into different shapes? Because if the battery can extend out slightly why can't it then flatten over like the SIM card area to use all the space available under a raised back plate?
here's the full link to make the life of other people easier

i will not buy the 1600 mAh one, it is pointless from 1500 mAh stock
however the 3200 mAh i'll consider for sure, unfortunately the size is a little bit ridiculous. it's like having 2 phones stuck together.
at least they include the back plate
too bad it looks horrible, maybe i could put some stickers on it, or paint it with some colour spray
- Edit -
Did anyone catch what's the price for the 3200 mAh with the huge back cover?

Great find, just what i've been looking for. I've searched Mugens website but can't find the battery, suppose will have to wait a few days.
Has anybody tested the life of the battery to check whether it does actually give 2x the life of the stock battery?
Thanks.
I WANT THIS
can't wait.
holy cr*!P that is ugly! however, i could be very tempted with such a battery, i previously had a mugen 3200mAh on my Nexus One and it would easily last 48 hours under my normal usage (sometime 3 days).
but yikes that does look really really thick - i wonder if all the empty space at the top of the backplate helps the audio on the phone. i can always kid myself
i knew as soon as i ordered a zenus flip case somebody would release an extended battery pack. maybe i should just get into the habit of carrying spares, or an external USB powerpack ... but an extended battery is just so convenient.
will have to think hard about this one!
i can use all that empty space to store like 100 micro SD cards to take my entire DVD collection + my entire Audio albums collection LOL
or simply store an extra 1500mAh battery inside as a Spare!
I am now a sad panda.... $99!
http://www.mugenpoweronline.com/product_info.php?products_id=790
still debating... imagine all he things I could hide... I could store my entire sdhc collection with that....
i love how they always do their best to hide the "thickness" - it's like we're all obsessed with size zero phones when in reality a size 16 can be fine ;-)

Edit: actually thing I most dislike is the "5 megapixel" text around the lens hole. why?! who cares! trying to pretend it's a compact camera perhaps
99.00$ and you can have such ugly brick... No, thanks!
$99 is a bit much....
and the thickness doesn't help in the decision better
i got 2 authentic G7 1500mAh battery for only a quater of that price
it's easier to take some extra batteries in your pockets, than carrying a huge thick phone

yeah, this is an excellent idea!
more than enough space to fit in an AAA battery + LED light
this is definitely something that i would get. the thickness would not bother me, as i would only use this when out hiking, and would switch back to the normal battery/back at other times.
$99 is a bit much though. i think i would hang on for the price to come down a bit.
it would be better it the battery was shaped differently to have a larger surface area once it gets past the plastic surround where the battery sits in the phone. that would allow the same 3000+, but should shave a good few millimetres off the thickness.
lol i wish they went with something slimmer, something around the same thickness of the bump at the back. even if it can only accomodate 2000 to 2500 mah
Makes it look like a brick. Add a high wing spoiler with gold Mugen badging then we're taking.

The 1800 mah batteries for the Epic Touch work great too. Samsung-branded OEM batteries have been much better than any of the 'compatible' batteries. Amazon has them for about $15

Check out my battery reviews in my sig to get an idea, I believe that the fat 3500 batteries have value that CANNOT be beat! (as long as added girth isn't minded)
A solid slim battery would be the OEM 1800mAh battery from the Epic Touch (just MAKE SURE it's true OEM and not a knock off that just looks like it... there are certain tells such as listed model numbers and other markings)
I find my OEM Samsung 1800mah to be substantial. Lasts the day and that's all I need I suppose. I can't stand fat batteries.

Yeah the 1800mAh batt is my favorite slim batt for sure just wish they were as cheap as the fat batts so you can choose between thin or capacity. I don't believe they deserve to be more than $1 in difference for the price/ performance to be on par with da fatties

I bought what appear to be OEM samsung 1800 mAh batteries from Amazon and they weren't stellar performers. i think it might be possible that these are seconds or b-stock or something. I had the stock 1400 that came with my phone in rotation and I just didn't see a big difference with the 1800.
However, I just bought Anker 1800s and those things have impressed me. 2 batteries and an outboard charger for $20 is a helluva deal, too. I am gun shy about buying the ones that are marked "samsung" now due to the negative experience I had. Your mileage may vary.

You may have bought a counterfeit in OEM's clothing. Can you get some pictures up of your "OEM" samsung 1800 batts??
I hear good things about Anker batteries but haven't had the pleasure of using them nor testing them. Would you want me to analyze yours?
I just bought this battery a week ago and feel as though it may be a knock off. It only gets about 8 hours of life before dying. How can you tell if it's a fake?
I guess I could have resized...oops sorry!

Hmm...that does appear to be genuine...
Maybe they sent you some used ones or possible "new" ones that have sit unused in the warehouse for too long. Would you like me to analyze them for ya?? (or any other batteries)
As you saw my dad hadn't had his for longer than 6 months and his 1800 battery dropped from 1800mAh to about 1500mAh average.
Have you fully discharged and charged them a couple times. They might need that.

I was expecting to see a MFG date on it like my two (3 year old) factory batteries I have. After a few days of using the 1800 I went back to them since they at least make it through the day. They've had a few charge cycles or more.
The first day or so was rough since the phone was reporting 15-20% power and then would just power off. I'd turn it back on and it'd say 5% or something. Admittedly when I put this new battery in I deleted the battery stats file so I attributed this initial behavior to that.
I was planning to return the battery if it's worth my time/money since I got it fairly cheap on ebay (doh!). I should have read these threads before shopping there for bargains.
How would you go about analyzing batteries? Need to send them to you?
Is a very good option.

Did a quick search on the kinps brand, apparently some galaxy note ii users said it was pretty decent so what the hell, it's cheaper than getting the zerolemon which costs quite a fair bit to ship out of the states.
Also, if it isn't close to 6300mah, I can always talk to the seller

maybe itll be just fine for you and that would be great, and i hope it is, but im quite confident in saying its not going to be 6300mAh.
if you spent $4 more, you could have bought a recognized brand like a hyperion 5200 mAh, and gotten better then rated specs. with a knips, or the OP's MPJ, they are one or all of the following:
1) purposely mislabeled capacity to deceive unsuspecting buyers
2) a recycled cell (not good)
3) manufacturing origin: China (Parts and assembly)
imho, i would have spent the extra $4 for quality.

I second that. Hyperion and Anker are the only two trusted double-capacity aftermarket batteries I would consider. 3x capacity - Zerolemon is a king. Every other brand claiming higher capacity just puts a fake label which in a lot of the cases you can remove (label that is) to read the actual battery marking. Samsung is very good at putting max size cells into OEM footprint, so anybody claiming more than 2600 mAh with original footprint is lying. The same with double capacity extended batteries, it's nothing more or less than double amount of original, so don't expect anything higher than 5200 mAh. Anything else will be a lie and you might not even get 2600 mAh or 5200 mAh out of these. Stay AWAY from any "Golden" labeled batteries. I got one of those for my N2 (labeled as 4200 mAh with a footprint of the original N2 3100 mAh). After external measurement it turned out to be slightly bigger than 2000 mAh. And I read the same reviews from others about these Gold batteries.

The thing is, those brands aren't readily available to the majority of the world. For instance, shipping for Anker and Hyperion batteries alone would be too expensive. For example, it costs me around USD55 to get a Zerolemon shipped to AU.
There are plenty of reputable Chinese brands out there too if you knew what they are.

WHERE I BUY
A backup battery means a lot to me as my Galaxy S5 is running many apps, even though battery life on this phone is already an impressive part. Just received mine with a small bag, unwrapped and put it in. It seems a little larger than stock battery, ensuring a snug fit.
The 2800mAh to 4300mAh bump isn’t there for sure but there is still some increase. I’ll update soon after 2-3 times charging cycles.

After I fully charged it 3 times, it seemed to do great. This is my moderate to quite heavily day yesterday. With almost same usages (no auto brightness, average web browsing, bunch of streaming videos, texting, calling and etc.), stock downs to 20-30% by the time I went to bed and the new battery I'm at about 45%.
EDIT: Do not expect seeing any dramatic changes. Normally improving 10-15%, and there are several times, depending on my usages, where it up to 15%-20%.
6+ hrs on screen is my best by far and this is including 4-5 hrs of idle and light/moderate using, and only 1-2 hrs of heavy browsing, texting, etc. Have been also skeptical and hesitated about whether to pick up this without many reviews but on second thought, I can be the first and share my experience if that’s a real good. YMMV, I am not thinking about if they are spending money on promoting the well-knowness for their company, as far as I can tell, it is working fine on MY GS5.

wondering the same thing. This battery doesn't seem too expensive.
I'm really interested in a real capacity test of this battery

It shouldn't seeing how it can use the original back.
I also to would like to see the stats on this baby because of the no extra bulk.
where did you get it?
I was about to post about this same battery! I ordered it on Amazon for about $5. I hope it is better than the stock battery! Here's a link if interested.

Interested to see how this battery works For long term use. Wonder if it effects the phone any?
Oh sweet, Thank you! =)
These batteries don't hold quite the charge the OEM batteries do, but it'll last a good 8 hours. I ordered a pair of these batteries and I'll see how long they last (Hyperion batteries have a good track record with my phones).

Nope, so I bought 3 of them. at 6 dollars a piece, and no shipping, even if i get one thats semi-decent it's better than no spare are all and I was making my way through a battery and a half per day on my S4.
*UPDATE*
4300 mHa Battery
I'm a very heavy user of my smartphone. When i had my Galaxy S4 i was going through a battery and a half per day. When i saw these batteries i thought i'd give them a try. I though 6 bucks, each, bought 3 of them for the hell of it. So in the old phrase of you get what you pay for is absolutely true in this case.
These batteries even say "Long Lasting High Capacity Li-ion battery" and are a 4300mAh battery, where the stock is 2800mAh. So in theory these batteries are 45% bigger than stock and should give me relatively 45% more time in operation of my smartphone on a single charge.
What it has given me is a great deal less. My S5 on the OEM battery would last from when i unplugged it at 6am to usually 5:30 or 6 at night before I hit the 30% alert. I just checked and my phone is currently 4H 50M 06S in and I am down to 38%. This battery as it sits is a complete waste of money.
Now as they were only 6 bucks each I did buy 3 so I will try the other two over the next couple days but if they are the same, then my suggestion is do not buy this product.
I just went with this one. Guess we'll see. I'll update a couple weeks after it gets here. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JIL7C5S/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Makes sense, yes After all, no matter how advanced the phone is: the more advanced, the more battery eats.
Hum... I don't know if this battery i sreally a 4300mah...
Someone test the battery recently ?
I'm using this "brand" ( well, these printed labels ) since the S1 series.
They may not be the full 3800Mah capacity, but they always give me a full day of operation ( depending on the use offcourse )
I'm not able to test the capacity-claims ( because I don't know how )
All I know is the length of operation.
On the S2 and Note1 the power was slightly smaller, my order is coming in a few days
Will report back

I can't wait for ZeroLemon to release theirs. It was worth every millimeter of extra hugeness on my S4.

It is the same dimension so I assume 20%~ more.
I ordered this one the other day http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JB5OGWS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 shipped out today shall see how it goes.
I know posts have been made about this, but I just couldn't make heads or tails out of most of them. Ok so I don't care about things like wireless charging. Water- resistance retention would be considered a plus, but it is not mandatory. I'd like an extended battery which increases battery life of my s5, and if the battery is thick and requires a new case, that's OK, as long as the case is sturdy and preferably protects the phone.
Concerns are quality of battery and battery life, and price. I looked at some listings like ZeroLemon and Anker and they are way too expensive for me. I live in Malta (europe) and the price combined with the shipping cost was more than I am comfortable spending.
Any contributions are greatly appreciated, Thanks
The mpj extended power, same size battery...
http://www.mpjbattery.com/mpj-4300m...900-g900m-g900a-g900t-g900v-g900r4-g900p.html
I have not received mine yet.
MPJ is crap, honestly. There are hundreds of posts in this forum documenting it -- you simply can't stuff more energy into a battery that's the same size as the OEM one, and only charge a fraction of the OEM price.
The Anker 7500mAh is 27 quid on Amazon.co.uk, and that's probably the best you'll do in getting a legit extended battery -- everything else is "too good to be true."
In the States, I've used Hyperion and Aukey, and they're pretty good.
Good luck!

But the oem website says it's almost 5 stars!! /sarcasm
Its 20 bucks, hope it works out.
I have the 7500 Zerolemon in my s3, it's been there 2 years, still holds up all day. I'm upgrading to upgrade and to have a 'newer' spare aka the s3 will be my new spare. Not because the s3 is not any good, it's actually pretty good. It's downside is the lack of dev now, and products online. Anyway, zerolemon is awesome also.

I hope it does for your sake too, Clues. I too love ZeroLemon (I had a GS3 with one as well, the battery outlasted the phone!), but the OP said he'd checked the prices for ZeroLemon and Anker, and they were out of his range.
So, I Googled "websites to shop Malta," saw several references to UK Amazon, and took a look at the brands and prices -- the Anker 7800mAh (I mistakenly wrote 7500 earlier) is a lot less than the ZL offering, and the UK versions of the the same "no-name" batteries are about 2/3 the price compared to a top-2 offering (the Anker).
And with the no-names, you're basically paying for a short-term solution, as their battery life usually falls off a cliff after 6 months.
27 GBP = ~$40 USD, the same price this battery sells for in the States, and it comes with an 18-month warranty.
Simply put, I think that this is the best option for our Maltese OP.
I’ve got both of 4300mah &8200mah from them and don’t think mpj is crap. They work just fine. Regular one is basically on par with stock battery if not better. The one adding noticeable bulk held much longer when compared to the other or stock.

hey thanks all for your post, esp. you minister of etc for your thoroughness. The price of 27 GBP applies for UK residents, I have to pay extra for shipping, in total 33 GBP, but that's ok. When I made this post, I didn't have a job, now I do ^_^

Bought one awhile ago, didn't notice any difference over the stock Samsung battery.
I think you can't go wrong with zerolemon to be honest. Bought the S5 8500 mah extended the other day. Had 62% when I put it in my phone for the first time on Tuesday. Today Sunday it still at 8% (wondering if it will ever die) lol

Theres also a bunch of these on eBay :http://www.ebay.com/itm/4200mAh-Gold-Battery-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S5-i9600-G900V-G900A-900T/191656494905?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D777000%26algo%3DABA.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D35696%26meid%3D90f6e5dc9da9432cb5d949df4c707991%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D261539639358
But will these provide any improvement over the OEM, be about the same, or would it make it worse than the OEM battery?

I have one of these batteries, its about 2/3 the capacity of the stock battery.
I bought it knowing it was not going to be as good as OEM. My wife also has an S5 and easy access to charging, so a lower capacity doesn't impact her. I just borrow her OEM battery when I need to carry a spare for travelling.
The MPJ seems to be working fine after 4mo.
I'd like to post some results, whats the best way to show battery health/history?
Honestly if you have multiple devices you might want to go with a power bank. They're less money, have bigger batteries, and work with multiple devices (you won't be looking for a new one when you get a new phone)
Good Galaxy S5 Extended Battery
I just upgraded my phone, but on my old S5 I used an extended battery from Gorilla Gadgets. I used to get around 30-40 hours of battery life with normal use.
https://gorillagadgets.com/collections/samsung-galaxy-s5-accessories/products/samsung-galaxy-s5-5800mah-extended-life-battery
bought a standard anker replacement and one day got over 5 sot and then the next for 2 lol!!!!! crazy difference.
Go with the Hyperion 5600 mah
VZ S7 EDGE ONYX
I use my S5s for playing Ingress. So, long days walking around with the GPS.
I have found the S5's battery life to be pretty good.
I simply bought a couple of the Samsung spare battery kits with the charger.
Normally one battery lasts most of a day running Internet and GPS a lot.
Carrying one extra is usually enough for that last little bit of security.
