yesterday i have a problem that my phone not ringing while i recieved a call and sms ,then i check in setting>sound>notification and noticed that all ringtone dissappear and only showing silent option to be choose,so after doing some researxh in my phone, i have found the solution , this is because media storage is disabled/freezed . the solution ;
1) open link2sd
2) in the search box type *media storage*
3) if it freeze long click and select unfreeze
note : if ur media storage is damaged or missing i think u need to flash rom or maybe u can install other person media storage .

I can see the sounds in ES file explorer but they don't show up under the ringtone select or notification selection. Just all of a sudden disappeared. They don't show up in the Music Player app either.
Anyone? The LiveProfile sound is there but none of the rest. They are all in the same directory.
I'm still having this issue. The sounds returned for a few days but then disappeared again.
what is your question ? you want set "your sound" to be a ring tone or notification ? is that what you asking ?
try copy your sound file to /system/media/audio , you should see few folders , copy/paste to "alarms" (clock) , "notifications" (like SMS arrive) and "ringtones"
They are there. I can see them in Es file explorer, even play them but they don't show up in the music app or in the ringtone selection list except for one.
I flashed back to the stock 4.1.1 with Sense 4+ to my HTC One S and when I was about to change my ringtone I had 3 options to open the ringtone, I selected the first one (forgot the option) and the thing crashed and told me it would report the crash to HTC. I have restarted the phone a few times since and still cannot access the ringtone changer from 'Settings/Sound/Phone ringtone' Does anyone know how to change the program that is opening the ringtone?
Solved my own problem, had 'Sound Set' disabled in my Apps and that's the program I needed to select ringtones.

Anyone else having issues with the S6 ringtone and message alerts?
I copied a folder called media to my S6 when I first updated to 5.1.1 and I could select my ringtone and message alert tone from this folder, but yesterday it went back to default and now i can't select anything in the media folder, coincidently my video folder i used to be able to see is now not showing in the video player but is there if i browse my files??
Is there a cache clear for the system ringtone notification app?
Tried uninstalling a bunch of apps related to audio video, and cleared my files cache no joy!

after upgrading to lollipop i faced this problem
there is no option for choosing ringtones for the two SIM cards
only one option which already acts for the first SIM and the other one rings with another ringtone which there is no option to change it.
it kills me , i tried every thing but no result.
i need your help pls.
Cant seem to change standard ringtone at all. Whatever ringtone I choose it always rings with the annoying Huawei standard tone.
The only thing which works perfect is to set individual ringtones per contact.
edit: weird, but if you change the ringtone through the music app - it work's. still something to fix by the Huawei devs...
It changed for the first SIM only not for the two SIM.

hey guys i had same problem the only solution i have for you is you can change the ringtone default from each person contact profile . you will find default option and you can change it . and its work and i think there is should some app for ringtone profile default on playstore .
I had same problem, after update to lollipop my ringtones and notification tone has gone too. i did factory reset but its not works. So i checked ringtones file...its 0 file
So i manage to pull some ringtones and notif tones from my ascend p6. And copy to my mate 7.
Since i can't post any links here, maybe i can share the link of p6 ringtone. Just PM me or email to [email protected] i'll give the google drive link to share the audio file. I hope it can help who have the same problem.

Go to settings==>system profiles==>
Check if it is selected as silent or default. Check it to default.
Even in default there is silent ring mode. To change it, go to its settings and scroll down to system settings where you can find the ring mode.
I too had the same problem. Couldn't solve it and the store where i bought the phone said i had to replace the phone's ringer. I accidentally solved it myself the same day.
