[Q] Ringtone picker crashed - HTC One S

I flashed back to the stock 4.1.1 with Sense 4+ to my HTC One S and when I was about to change my ringtone I had 3 options to open the ringtone, I selected the first one (forgot the option) and the thing crashed and told me it would report the crash to HTC. I have restarted the phone a few times since and still cannot access the ringtone changer from 'Settings/Sound/Phone ringtone' Does anyone know how to change the program that is opening the ringtone?

Solved my own problem, had 'Sound Set' disabled in my Apps and that's the program I needed to select ringtones.

Really weird ringtone bug.

Everything was fine until I realized I cant change my custom ringtone anymore. Whatever ringtone I set the custom one would ring even though it showed the other one is selected. So I deleted the ringtone and then was able to change it.
However only after a little while the phone just stopped ringing, the default tone seems to be silent and whatever I put it wont change. I put back my custom ringtone, rebooted, then deleted all the custom ringtones again and yet I am unable to get my phone to ring.
I have tried setting a ringtone through playerpro music player as well but to no avail.
The notification sound comes as normal. I am running stock unrooted 4.0.4. What should I do?
Figured out the problem. There were some specific contacts that did not have a ringtone assigned to them and my own second phone was one of them from which I was doing the testing. I was using a profile scheduler app previously and in that I had put some of the contacts on the whitelist to allow them to call me even on silent mode. So it was the app which was controlling those contacts and even after uninstalling it the settings hadnt defaulted.

[Q] How to reset contact ringtone to default?

Hello guys!
Last night, I set a custom ringtone for a contact via 'People'. I noticed that the effect it has - Calls and Whatsapp notifications from this contact now uses the same custom ringtone which I set yesterday. When I tried to set it back to 'Default', I noticed that there's no 'Default' option in the list of ringtones available. The ringtone which was default can be selected but that would results in Whatsapp ringtone to use that one too instead of its own default ringtone, which is a different one.
Appreciate it very much if someone know how to actually reset contact ringtone back to default? Its driving me nuts!
Thank you.
In settings--->sound--->phone ringtones set it to sense simple

[Q] Problem with notification sounds

Ok, I need a little help, as this problem has me stumped.
I wanted to set a custom notification sound, so I copied 2 new mp3 files to /sdcard/media/audio/notifications. Normally this should allow me to select those sounds as notification sounds from the sound settings, but this time it didn't work (I have done it successfully before). I then proceeded to open the files in ES File Explorer, selected Play and Set as Ringtone, Notification Tone. That worked and the sound was set as the default notification tone. BUT, here's the kicker, when I now go to settings - Sound - Notification Sound, on the screen where you can set the Default notification, Messages, Calendar, Mail and Notice, I am no longer able to select any tones for each of these categories. When I go into Default notification, where I used to get a list of notification sounds, there is no list anymore, and the Apply button is greyed out. Same with the other notification categories.
I've tried selecting a different notification sound through ES File Explorer, and that changed the Default again, but I still can't get a list to load in the settings screen. I've already tried clearing data and defaults for the ES File Explorer, Music and Android System under Apps in settings, but that didn't fix it either. I've rebooted just to make sure it wouldn't correct itself, no luck. I'm stuck. I would like to have the ability again to set these different categories of notification sounds. Can anyone help?
I ended up restoring a backup to fix this issue. Problem solved.

ringtone bug

sometimes ringtone sounds does not show up....... rings like in silent mode...... I am using CM 13 Nightly..... Any solution guys ??
same
Same problem with me also, smbody plz any solutions
Hey.
Go to settings==>system profiles==>
Check if it is selected as silent or default. Check it to default.
Even in default there is silent ring mode. To change it, go to its settings and scroll down to system settings where you can find the ring mode.
I too had the same problem. Couldn't solve it and the store where i bought the phone said i had to replace the phone's ringer. I accidentally solved it myself the same day.
Hope this helped.

Question Wrong Ringtone Plays

I am stumped. S22 Ultra recently replaced due to hardware issue. Used Cable-connect Smart Switch to transfer all data and settings,
Android 13, OneUI 5 All s.w up to date
Situation. Assume Default ringtone is X
Desired Ringhtone for ONE contact is ECHO
Other Ringtone is WHISTLE
RINGTONE selection is via Samsung contacts App as Google Contacts odes not support contact-specific r/t selection,
For some reason the transfer of settings was incomplete. For ONE contact alone, I wish to have ECHO as the tone, instead the Phone plays WHISTLE, and I don't know why, ECHO is an OGG file visible in the Ringtone folder and plays correctly via any correct app. And I cannot locate WHISTLE using MyFiles app.
I have tried removing the contact and power down restart the phone. I have not reset the App Cache
UPDATE: I determined that the originator of the wrong ringtone is an old S8 App called S8 Ringtones. It was used to associate the wrong ringtone with the contact. The S8 App is now removed, however the incorrect association remains.
