It's not that easy as you think.
I mean Kernel development is very hard and you need alot of knowledge.
Let see if we can make a fully working CM10.2 build and then maybe I will make CM11.
BTW if you want a Custom kernel for GPU OC look for Guides on XDA.There are many of them.

If you want to enhance you videocore gpu u can get enhance gpu from Samsung Galaxy S Dous 2
This Phone Has enhance gpu
You can port it to S2 plus

Over at PROJ: Overclocking the Adreno GPU on Snapdragon Devices they were trying to achieve to overclock the GPU to improve performance.
I've decided to open this thread for dedication for software porting/improving for adreno GPU on all Snapdragon chips.
1st thing we require/need to start work is:
Any source for the adreno/gpu drivers that are currently being run on our devices.
Its been mentioned that Acer liquid has same gpu running on lower cpu clock and achieving greater results.
Open source 3D driver for Snapdragon @ CodeAurora | Site Source
Acer liquid GPU drivers and source
Require Acer Liquid dump of adreno libegl files
Acer Liquid Kernel Source | Source site
Benchmark Acer liquid | Nexus One = Desire | EVO4G | Incredible
From there we should be able to improve our drivers from other devices but i think its a good start to look at the Acer Liquid since the source is available iirc.
That should be what we need for a start.
If i'm missing anything please let me know and i'll add it.
I'm posting this here because our devices have the same chip/gpu so its pretty much a win/win situation and we are searching for devs to lend a hand
To make this easier and keep information managed/organised it would be best to post in the original thread i created in Nexus One development forum located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741322
Reference threads
Nexus One porting thread | Incredible porting thread | EVO4G porting thread
Cone on guys any new information about this topic. Have any progressions been made at all?
Sent from my HTC Desire CDMA using XDA App
Sounds interesting
If you read the original post he refered to , you will see that they have hit dead end on driver path and OC the GPU is impossible (iirc an insider from qualcom told them so as well)..search to find more...
I was looking for a program to overclock MTK6516 processors, from china smartphones with Android, but didn't found anyone witch works.
Somebody knows some program or would like do develope it?
I want this too. I've tried many apps like SetCPU and No-Frills and none of them work.
Most chinese Android devices like the Hero H7000 have pretty decent specs at a pretty damn good price. However, they all use the god damn slow as MTK6xxx CPUs.......
Want something like this too!
Would be nice if one of the developers can write us something
You can't overclock from an app before modding the kernel to allow oc
And to mod the kernel you'ld need the kernel source
kernel unfound since we do not know the brand and manufacturer
Is hard to find it since there is no brand for it and i had been finding it since i bought a Hero H400 android china phone.
Mine CPU is mtk6515 too ~
Anyone tested to root the china phone before?
Thanks.

I've rooted my Gooapple 3G and tweaked it a fair bit and removed the bloatware and managed to get some speed increases that way, but still waiting on Kernel source to be able to do anything more.
The X10 Mini runs the same Qualcomm msm7227 processor as the Gooapple 3G and its widely reported that 787mhz is possible and stable with the X10, so would be nice to have that extra horsepower but until someone comes up with the source it aint gonna happen sadly.
I wonder if its possible to take the hw drivers etc from the Gooapple and merge it with the X10 Mini Source and create a hybrid rom for the Gooapple??
hi thebtman,
You are from Malaysia so this Gooapple 3G.
Need you to give commend on:
1) Camera 5MP?
2) CPU?
3) RAM & ROM?
4) Internet setting for this phone tested?
Any chance in finding an overclocking app for this type of kernel? I've rooted mine, a Star A8 aka Plum Velocity (present on gsmarena) but all the apps told me that is not for my kernel
If you don't have the kernel source, but your phone can be rooted. You can make a Overclock module and load it

And how exactly do you do that?
Why is the kernel source required? It's not that hard to decompile the kernel and hexedit some parts, I just fail to recompile it since I don't know the cmdline for those mediatek processors

Are you referring to this link: [git.omapzoom.org]?
It's already been mentioned here: [forum.xda-developers.com].

Hi ,
I have and old msm7225 device , and development on xda has stopped . obviously everyone have bought a new phone ( me too ) , and nobody cares about it .
since i am not using it as my everyday phone , i want to bring a new kernel for it . It currently has a 2.6.32 kernel , and i want to port 2.6.35 or .38 .
i have some knowledge about kernels ,i have done some additions to the current kernel and i can fix most of the compilation errors that i will face ( i've tried it before ) , but i don't know what it needs to make it boot .
i don't expect a full working kernel , just boot and screen working , and then i'll start to fix the rest , one by one .
thnx

For that you will have to patch your kernel upstream. Search for upstream patches of the specific kernel from CAF.. or some other devices must have patched it... who's source you may find on xda or on github.
If you are looking to port kernel 3.x.x .. then HTC Explorer ( which has Msm7225a ) also runs kernel 3.0.100 so you check out its kernel source that is probably the closest device you will get apart from HTC Golfu
There are no guides as such. Basic knowledge on C/C++ is required as well as good knowledge on the linux kernel and you will have to read in depth its documentation.
http://kernelnewbies.org/ is a good site to gain some knowledge on the subject.

htc explorer has msm7225a which is armV7 with adreno 200 . msm7225 is armv6 without gpu (like htc buzz which has 2.6.35 kernel ).
I am not a total noob in kernels , i can port some features and fix some problems on my existing kernel .
but i want to experiment , on new kernel
Hello friends
last days i'd successfully compiled kernel for GT-N7100 and its work great
added cpu governor
1-but how can compile new gpu driver and use it in kernel?
2-how can identify hardwares to use different driver like wlan?
3-some kernel have extra features like changing gpu freq.how?
Thank you

Hi @juan503.
Congrats on your working kernel!
Since we here at XDA Assist merely point you in the right direction, we do not provide tech support; I cannot answer all your questions.
There is however quite a few threads on how to add features to a kernel, and what you don't find in them you can ask there.
Check these out:

Good luck on your development!
