Since starting to use my Nexus 5, I've noticed Google Now seems a LOT less useful than before.
Compare the beginning of the list of cards currently on my Nexus 7 2012:

With the cards on my Nexus 5

Am I missing something obvious here, or is this a massive step backwards? Anyone else seeing this?
It's not just the options, I'm seeing obvious differences between the two devices in terms of cards appearing.
Running both devices in Australia, both with language set to English(UK), both with Google Now's language set to English(AU).
My Everything Else has 16 options. Try clearing data from Google Now and starting over.

I have never seen anything remotely like that in my Google Now!
I think Google just made all of them baked into the KitKat version. everything is based contextually on your usage. So everything is considered on but won't show unless you made a search for it. Example would be if you search Big Bang Theory, it would bring up TV episodes. They're just trying to trim down the fat in the settings.

My Nexus 4 was like that but my Nexus 5 seems to only want to tell me the weather so i have turned it off.
I'm noticing it too. None of my packages are tracking through Google now on my N5, but were on my N4.

It's what I'm hoping is true, but I still suspect (fear?) that I'm missing out on things I otherwise wouldn't have.

Don't know if any have tried it, but it works on cm7. You can't search for other artists (apparently, when google found out about the leak, they shut down the servers..(for both down load and streaming).
But the app by itself is nifty enough to make me want to use it instead if the native music app. It has a nice iphone-like flow-search (or whatever that's called).
Check out my screen shots below. I dont have much music on my phone now (so no cracks about the sound of music track I have in there), but you can get an ideas of what it looks like.
I would upload it for you guys, but I don't know where it is on my phone. I installed it, and then opened it immediately. When I tried looking around on the SDcard, I couldn't find it anywhere.
But just search here in xda under "honeycomb music app leaked" or similar.
Edit : I don't think it works in Froyo.
Edit: anyone know why these screen shots are blurry? they look fine in my gallery....??? [when I try to upload them to this thread, tapatalk takes over--(which I presume is the xda app), so I think something is getting screwed up st that point.. And I am not near a working computer at the moment

Then how come its not used in any roms? Or at least more frequently used. I have been playing with it for 2 days, and it is a fast nicer music app them the old one.
How long ago was this originally leaked? From everything I have read (which could be wrong I guess), this music app is for honeycomb and is going to be part of google's anticipated entry into music to compete with the iPhone/iPod. It can't be that old.

it works on stock MT4G
I've had this on other android devices before but never this bad. Under network usage, the top item is consistently "0". Clicking on it results in FC. I just went to CM7. I dont think the issue came back until I reinstalled all of my apps. I used a network monitor when I was stock rooted and never saw anything unusual. Anyone have any ideas? I have a feeling it is killing my battery.

Bump. I have the same issue. If I click on the item labeled 0, it force closes.

Can you give me a list of all of your apps? Maybe we have a culprit in common.
Bump.......
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
I have the same. I believe it is all non system apps lumped together as I don't have any of them listed like I did on my n1. I think the system isn't representative of individual app use for data or battery. The battery history normally lists apps associated with a specific uid if you press each. My theory is something in the framework isn't registering apps independently but grouping them together creating false readouts.
[EDIT] I do see individual apps on network use so I want to strike my theory. Now I'm just back to puzzled.

Sorry, been too busy to check back in on XDA for a few days. I could post a list of apps, but my original observation was during the couple of days after I did all the factory wiping / calibrating to fix my battery life. I didn't have any non-stock apps installed at the time.
The 0 is still there, and still force closes. I was hoping some more people might have insight on this, but it doesn't seem to have caught on.

Let me present to you with a Sjly Chinese market. Also it's only in Chinese language but you will get the hang of it in no time.
Now here are the features of this market.
*all up to date useful apps from play store are available for download, free and paid (even those apps are available which have been removed from play store)
*auto installation of apps (for rooted phones only)
*apks of downloaded apps are saved on the phone
*we can choose which version of the app to download
*app updates are also available
*the app updates for most of the apps are progressive ones, means just the updated part of the app needs to be downloaded (***best feature***)
*while downloading any app, download speed is shown and download can paused/resumed
*and many more...
Enjoy this lovely Chinese market and it would be a delight if anyone could translate Chinese text on buttons.

Why would the Chinese care about your Google account? Seems more likely the US government will be doing the hacking on that.
So after a brief stint with iOS, I'm back using a Nexus as my daily driver. But there's one single, essential iOS app I have yet to find a replacement for.
What makes Fantastical great is having the half month, half agenda view on a single screen. So far, haven't been able to find an Android app that does the same thing. Even tried combining widgets (which would even be ideal), but it's hard to find widgets that size well with the stock launcher.
Am I missing something? Anyone know of any decent alternatives?

Just grasping straws here, but could it be related to the carrier allowing it or not? I don't have the option either BTW. Try switching sim cards if possible.

Switching SIM cards didnt help. It's something with the phone. I'll try version 4.3 of Google +, but there must be something else going on here! So strange!
Hangouts missing? Sounds more like a solution than a problem.
