Amazing! Give thanks to czechop! Thanks to his new CM10.2! Without his new kernel which updated the wifi and usb driver, we cannot use this rom.

Thanks A Lot!!

Installed right now. It boots. That pig from hell logo guy with yellow blinking eyes is cool.
I'm starting testing. Will let you know ASAP.
[edit]
I don't have good news for you guys not speaking Chinese.
The ROM runs smooth (system itself, I didn't have a chance to test bigger applications).
It has some graphical goodies (eyecandy scrolling, which is still quite smooth).
You have to flash a set of gapps other than this for CM10.2 (I used gapps-jb4.3-20130813-minimal_edited_20130814.zip).
The ROM is Chinese. I mean totally Chinese, which renders it (almost?) unusable for non-Chinese speakers, even after you change system language.
Hardware keyboard uses an app called iFly, used to enter Chinese characters.
It overrides keyboard definitions found in kl/kcm files.
Even though it supports English keyboard, it seems to be rather an addition to Chinese one, thus it is not only not too convenient in use, but also I couldn't force it to support Polish special keys (and believe me, I tried hard).
After you kill, freeze, or uninstall iFly, besides Home, all capacitive buttons below screen stop working.
Plenty of non-standard settings are Chinese only, even tapping blindly in hope to reach some falimiar looking screens didn't lead me to any success. You have to know Chinese (if only I could paste my phone in Google Translate... )
To sum up: in my opinion it is one more exotic ROM, quite pretty, powerful perhaps, but almost useless outside Zhongguo. @zhangyang_haha: Could you please disable Chinese keyboard application (iFly) permanently?

Ok, therefore, maybe I will use AOSP keyboard next time. Thanks for your feedback

I have flashed it and works perfect!!!!!! (just a trick: I have erased ifly of the zip and then i have installed the rom and gaaps with working swipe keyboard) and I'm satisfied with the result. No chinesse at all. Only Spanish. I installed it over Engles 10.2 rom and I had a bootloop. Then I made a factory reset and the phone booted fine and after 3 seconds the language automagically changed to Spanish.
I think this rom is well finished, very pretty and quick. I'm testing it, but I like it by the moment. First impression: We have in this rom the best from Czechop and the best of Engle_Mars.
Some screenshots and greetings.

Sorry mate, no luck here. After I flashed zip with ifly deleted, initial setup crashed and started again, so I ended in endless loop. Maybe I'll try another time, but right now I'm quite busy. Thanks for tips.

Ok, sorry for you.
Don't forget to install rom and gaaps at the same time, because if you delete Ifly you won't be able to continue configuration after booting because you don't have a virtual keyboard needed for it.
See you soon

Tried again. Removed iFly.apk from /system/app in zip file. Boots. Language selection screen appears - I select Polish. Location screen appears (use wifi / gps for location). Whatever I select, Mokee Initial Setup crashes, and loops back to the beginning (language selection screen). My phone is attached to PC - just for battery not to run empty, maybe that's a source of problems? I don't know.

My knowledge finishes here. I made it by installing the rom and gapps at the same time, making a factory reset and rebooting. I don't know if the problem is for doing attached to pc. I did it without being attached to a pc and I was coming from engle's rom.
Try to do it without usb connected and made sure you've flashed gapps.
Good luck

I'm using your rom without problems and is good, but some mates in southamerica (Argentina,...) are trying it but they don't get mobile signal.
They have tried changing basebands with no luck at all. Any idea or help?
Another cuestion... only for curiosity
Is this mokee rom based on Quarx work?
Thanks in advance

Sorry. I don't know why you do not have signal. If i do not have signal, i always change the basebands and then it has signal. Maybe you can try other basebands? :silly: And also, it is based on czechop's work and port from DEFY. You know czechop's CM10.2 is based on Quarx's work

Thank you to all who tested. Now start getting your phones ready for the final build.
Themers:
Check Post #2 for a package of app & framework files. A good majority of the apps are from FRF91 Vanilla Android build so if you have packages that already work with that build then most should work here. Please make sure all packages are compatible. Please use the framework-res.apk provided since it is unique to this ROM. It is much different than the OEM Drodi2 packages.
ROM Developers:
Feel free to use this as a base for your own ROM. Please just respect us and give Matt, Drod and myself the proper credit and a link back to the threads.
History:
Being bored one day and sick of Blur with all the extra services I started to rip the ROM apart. Finally getting it as clean as I can and being forced to have a bit of blur I began a search on how to get rid of it all. I ended up on the MotoDev website to see what I can find when I bumped into the D2 SDK. Shockingly it was a plain vanilla build of Android. I thought why not and tried to boot it up. Ii did ( see first video here[/URL] ) with lots of bugs. The screen res as all off and we had no radio or many other hardware functions. On top of that it ran like a turtle stuck in some molasses. I sent a message of my my buddy Matt4542 and our journey began. From there Drod and I hooked up and now we have this. It has been a long rough week getting this sucker to where it is now. It was fun, frustrating and we nearly killed each other a few times but all ended well since we have a great finished project.
We kind of built AOSP ROM by hand. Some may say it is not a true AOSP ROM but it is. There is no difference between this build and a true AOSP ROM besides any tweaks that the developer may add when creating a ROM from source. We had no choice to do it this way since Moto locked us out of the bootloader (for now and next project). Many of the apps are built from source. About 90% of the app folder is built from source. We added some packages from the D2 that are a bit better and required for hardware reasons. There is NO Blur left in the ROM but for a moto-res.apk file that is required by the framework.
What will this ROM do?
It will give you a true Android Vanilla experience much in the same way the Original Droid (OD) did. It is not loaded with bloatware and everything functions as it should. Facebook will sync with your contacts and you will not have all of your memory being used by wasteful stuff on top of much more. Your phone will run more smoothly and feel a lot faster.
What can you do to help?
The most important thing is to provide feedback. When reporting bugs please be clear and with detailed explanation. Do not say this does not work and leave it that. The more feedback you provide will make it easier and quicker for us to kill any bugs. You may also give us a small donation to help with our continuing development of ROM and *POSSIBLY* get this bootlader cracked. It cannot be done with one device. I have a couple of friends who have experience with low level programming of chips and with their help maybe it can get done. They are Blackberry guys and not going to buy a device just for this. This is nothing more than a promise that it will be tried. I cannot say when and IF it can be done so please keep the questions to a minimum about it. If the project takes off then I will have updates. You can donate to the project by clicking HERE.

I'll be the first to ask - do we need to do all of the wipes if we are upgrading from RC1?
is this the final build?? cause its version 1.0 and are you guys going to provide ota updates?? other than that rom looks AWESOME
Appreciate the hard work guys!
Works great! So much better than the stock D2 ROM.
Cell standby is still an issue
So far so good.
Only two minor things. There is no easy to get to end-call button, which you already know about, and it seems like there is not speech to text support. Not that I really use speech to text, but it could come in handy.
Edit: Nevermind. Might just need to enable it in settings.
Contact Ringtones still don't work
Otherwise, it's gRRRRRRRRReat!
Seems like some bad blood brewing over this ROM on the droidforums page for it. AngDroid/MotoBoy, we all greatly appreciate your work (you too Matt4542! (and anyone else who doesn't get as much time in the lime light!)). As long as you are satisfied with the outcome of the ROM we all appreciate you sharing it with us. Just ignore the lamers that expect you to jump at their every beck and call. It's the first AOSP type ROM for the Droid 2, very first of it's kind for a very locked down phone, which in and of itself is a great accomplishment. If you ever fix anything in Fission, great, if not, I'll continue to look forward to what you develop in the future.
I'm still also curious about your twitter post from the other day, talking about your new Fusion ROM series. Interested to see how that one differs from both stock and Fission.
I am getting the USB problem like I was getting in Beta II. It would connect fine when I first loaded the rom up, and then half the day would pass by and then I can't connect the phone to the computer. Kind of weird. Pretty sure that I can charge from the wall. Just not sure why the USB isn't working.

I wonder if it's something underlying with your phone that's causing that issue. You'd think if it were a common bug you'd see other users complaining about it (as this thread on droid forums is about 8 pages long at this point). Given that it's you, who wrote the tutorials for some of the early D2 stuff, I have no doubt you followed all the steps for installing the ROM. Did you happen to SBF and start stock before going to Fission? I wonder if it could have resulted from flashing over another ROM. Very strange issue though, when I get a good chance to roll my phone up to Fission 1.0 I'll see if I experience the same thing (Thursday is probably a good day to flash, too many phone calls I can't miss between then and now).

How is it an issue? If your phone is on for 10 hours and you use cell for 1 hour of course it is going to eat the greatest percentage of battery use. The issue is the time is off now and then.

We tested this on IRC and it is working for everyone who tested.
if ud like a phone apk like this hit me up with a pm and ill send it to u
Does this ROM contain the ability to link contacts?
The reason I ask is because there are a few facebook contacts of mine that do not list their numbers on their profile but I have their numbers in my phone book. And when I installed Fission RC1, Facebook will list them as a contact but will not show them with the profile and with phone numbers I have in my phone. I recall being able to have that ability to link contacts in the stock D2 rom. Is this feature part of the Blur crap?
It really wouldn't even be an issue if the Facebook contacts were not read-only. I'd just add the numbers to their contact information on the phone then... But I can't. Go Facebook.
Go to the contact u want. Hit menu>edit then hit menu>join then u can pick the facebook contact u want to link it to

CWM recovery | Custom Clean ROM | Tweaks for Android watch phone Z1 (MT6516)

Z1 (brand unknown) is wrist watch phone with Android OS. It was first released in 4/2012 and it is Android 2.2.1. It has WiFi, AGPS, GSM/EDGE, 2 MP camera, mic, speaker, loudspeaker, capacitive touchscreen, display of 320x240, SDHC & SIM card slots etc.
As most Chinese phones it has SoC from MediaTek, MT6516 (armv5).
See my Czech review for photos: http://hodinky.blog.mobilmania.cz/2012/06/z1-hodinko-telefon-s-androidem/
Tweaks/tips for stock ROM (2.2.1)
Market/Google Play is missing in stock rom but it cam be added if you follow instructions on the page: http://www.ibuygou.com/p-z1_smart_android_2_2_watch_phone_gps_wifi_bluetooth_html-3638-usd.html (included in Clean ROM)
Default DPI is 120 however most controls are too small. Change it to 160 which will make all icons sharp. (included in Clean ROM)
Typing on tiny QWERTY soft keyboard is a pain, Flit Keyboard makes entering text much easier. (included in Clean ROM)
To enter engineering mode, dial *#*#8787#*#*
ADWLauncher EX works even better if you (see):
Disable all animations including scrolling homescreen
Disable dockbar and use swipe up instead (included in Clean ROM)
4x3 icon layout for home screen and 5x2 for drawer (included in Clean ROM)
Use something like Extended controls for toggles
Use No Lock if you don't need swipe to unlock feature.
Remove alternative Chinese markets and Chinese network account/sync providers from /system/app (included in Clean ROM)
Creating flashable dump
Use MT6516 BackUpTool for dumping your stock rom.
Use MTK_Rom_Studio_1.0.0a for converting dump into flashable format.
Flashing
Basically you need the driver: "MT6516_YuSu_USB_VCOM.inf" and flashing tool: "SP Flash Tool v1.1110". All tools can be found on the internet when searching for "MT6516 flash tools". The only necessary tools reuploaded can be found also here. (I'm not sure about the legality of these tools though.)
You have to use 32 bit Windows (I only tried XP in both VirtualBox and VMware but it could work with 32 bit Vista or 7).
Power off the watch, connect it directly to PC (no USB hub or extention cable) - new device will connect for few seconds - use it to install the driver. Unplug watch. (You may retry that few times because the watch disconnect within few seconds) Open flashing tool and select files to flash (I would recommend not to flash anything other than boot/recovery/system/data/logo), hit start and quickly connect the watch - flashing will start automatically.
Recovery
First build of ClockworkMod 5.0.2.8 seems to be working however all its features were not tested yet!
Recovery can be flashed with "SP Flash Tool" (use provided scatter file).
Rebooting to recovery from launched Android using "reboot recovery" works but I wasn't able to find working button shortcut to launch recovery directly from cold start. Please help me if you find a way!
Custom Clean ROM based on stock 2.2.1
Features
Removed alternative Chinese markets and Chinese (social) network accounts
Integration of Google apps (sync, Google Play, setup wizard etc)
DPI changed to 160 which makes the watch easier to control and the icons sharper
Preconfigured ADW Launcher, Flit keyboard
Includes root with Superuser, Busybox binaries
Minor clean-ups
So far this ROM doesn't include anything power user from XDA wouldn't be able to customize but this ROM is afford to save other users time with experiments.
Important notes:
Backing up your current ROM + data is highly recommended (use the above listed MT6516 BackUpTool)
The seller says you shouldn't do factory reset because of IMEI lost - I can't confirmed that - IMEI is kept even during factory resets so it doesn't seem to be stored in user data partition. BUT backup your current ROM anyway cause I might be wrong.
Clean ROM notes:
The first boot is slow. After the first boot, I recommend not touching the watch for 5-10 minutes because dalvik cache is rebuilding in the background and the setup wizard may lag a lot.
The default ADW launcher is configured to not have app drawer button - swipe up to open drawer
Known issue (to be fixed later): Because of DPI change - Bottom row of button in Dialer is smaller, however all buttons can be pressed
Known issue (to be fixed later): Because of DPI change - Superuser (root) confirmation dialog buttons aren't readable however the buttons are partly visible and can be pressed (press bottom left button to allow root acces)
Known issue (to be fixed later): Because of DPI change - There is small graphical glitch on the lock screen which however doesn't break anything
Flashing recovery is not needed at all. Just make sure you flash both partitions (it will erase all your data on the watch but not on SD). Follow instructions above on how to flash.

CM ROM
WIP, first build of CyanogenMod 7 (2.3.7) booted so I continue testing/evaluating. So far I only used stock kernel but I have source for MT6516 kernel.

Currently on hold.

Sent from my NWZ-Z1000Series using xda app-developers app
Yes, I'm plugging my website, but hey, it's relevant.
I've just reviewed this device at:
http://linuxslate.com/Review_Z1_Android-2.2-Watch.html
Everything in this thread has been helpful, I just wanted to add my 2 cents.
DPI at 160 looks great. Unfortunately many apps will not fit, including keyboard, phone, and superuser prompt. Either find alternate keyboard and set superuser to auto-grant, or switch back and forth between 120 and 160 as necessary.
I like No Lock, but I find the phone wake-locking all the time until I turned No Lock off. I also like the fact that the time is there in big letters on the lock screen. It's very suitable for its watch functionality.
I did a manual backup without rooting (No need for Z4 Root)
Download and unrar MT6516 BackUpTool, but do not install anything.
On the Linux/Mac box, open the gscript folder, and open back22.sh in editor, or viewer.
Connect the watch via USB, and connect via adb shell
Cut, paste and execute each line from the back22.sh file
up to and including the last dd command in the first section - in other words
Code:
.
.
.
.
dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd11 of=/sdcard/backup_/expdb.img
Obviously, you don't do the comment lines.
exit the shell
Code:
exit
do:
Code:
adb remount
Install yaffs2image:
Code:
adb push <your_path_on_PC_to>/Install/BackUp/yaffs_back_2.2/gen/mkyaffs2image /system/bin/mkyaffs2image
Code:
adb shell chmod 4777 /system/bin/mkyaffs2image
(Again, the above is a cut and paste from the script)
Code:
adb remount
(for safety)
Code:
adb shell
Then cut and paste the remaining 3 mkyaffs2img commands.
Then:
Code:
exit
Copy the backup_ folder on the SD car to someplace safe.
If you want, you can remove mkyaffsimg:
Code:
adb remount
Code:
adb shell rm /system/bin/mkyaffs2image
Code:
adb remount
It's definitely more steps, but it leaves the system technically un-touched, un-rooted, and even returnable if you should have to.
Some more useful apps.

It can be done, but the MotoActv might be better, because the motoactv has a headphone jack so you can use any headphones you want. On the Z1, you have to use bluetooth headphones or a bluetooth headphone adapter.
I just ordered one of these last week, should have arrived today ... glad to see this exists!
Other than configuration/display-size issues, does everything work, i.e. all hardware? I noticed you had a note about the Wifi driver not being open source, but I assume that more effects if you try the MT6516 kernel. Even if it's a closed binary, I assume you could still load it and use it though. I'm not expecting any leaps and bounds in the kernel department.
As for CWM, is any part of it executed at cold boot? If so, I imagine you'd need to implement some kind of timeout menu that could optionally enter recovery before booting the watch. This is similar to what was implemented on the Kindle Fire which also doesn't have a normal stock recovery mode.
I assume you're still evaluating CM7 so you're not ready to distribute it ... but I do hope to see more from you soon, especially a HOWTO and download links!
I spent many nights trying to make GSM or WiFi working. Except few tweaks I only got the modem to start but nothing more. I have no experience with porting of binary drivers and this device has so many of them. Radio/modem and kernel modules - there are no problems with them but there are just too many dependencies on proprietary libs even from standard android native binaries.
So I'm giving up. At least for now cause I just don't have enough knowledge.
I consider making custom rom based on stock Android but I don't know if there would be any demand. Proper integration of Google apps, Chinese apps/account providers removed, tweaked launcher/drawer settings, tweaked global dpi/dpi of apps that not fit...
To have at least something, I give you very simple app "Z1 Backlight Toggle" apk (attached in 1st post) which can turn off completely display backlight. (Needs root) I use it on my bike when I have navigation running all the time cause it indeed saves battery and backlight isn't needed at all under direct sunlight, the display is readable the same.

That's fine, I understand how frustrating these things can be. But still, can you post information about how to backup / restore the firmware and how to flash a custom ROM? I might try playing with it myself sometime and at least having the knowledge would enable further experimentation.

I have an idea ... if we can get the MTK6516 kernel to build and boot, that's one step. If we can then get Android 2.2 stock to build, and then compare it against an image of the Z1's file system, we should, in theory, be able to identify all the unique areas of the watch's Android setup. If we at least know how to build an identical watch Android from source we should be able to extend that into making Cyanogen Mod work ... or something else. I think it's worth a shot anyway!
Also for an identical kernel, there shouldn't be any need to "port" binary drivers ... ideally they're built-in or load as modules, same as any other drivers.
I consider making custom rom based on stock Android but I don't know if there would be any demand.

You're probably right there will be very limited demand. So I ask again, if you can at least post steps about reflashing the watch, I'll give it my best shot. I just want to be sure I can restore the watch after messing around with it. Which I'm guessing you were able to since you didn't claim any permanent damage. It seems it should be able to go into a factory restore mode which I hope will override any messed up systems.

It really is neat. Kind of limited, but really neat. I think if we can get any amount of control over the kernel and Android version, we can really extend the abilities of the watch. It just needs a chance...

In my opinion there's no problem with kernel, modules or libraries, we can just reuse them. The real issue I think is native android binaries such as wpa_supplicant or rild. We can either use (original) already built binaries or build new ones - but this is the problem... Original binaries depend on proprietary libraries so they "do something" important with devices. Newly build binaries just don't have that unknown functionality. Yes, reusing stock binaries might work for 2.2 but my only target so far was 2.3 since that would be real benefit for us.

Have a look here: http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.cz/2011/02/mtk-hd2-hd9-flashing-tutorial.html
Basically you need the driver: "MT6516_YuSu_USB_VCOM.inf" and flashing tool: "SP Flash Tool v1.1110". You have to use 32 bit Windows (I only tried XP in both VirtualBox and VMware but it could work with 32 bit Vista or 7 as well).
Power off the watch, connect it directly to PC (no USB hub or extention cable) - new device will connect for few seconds - use it to install the driver. Unplug watch. Open flashing tool and select files to flash (I would recommend not to flash anything other than boot/recovery/system/data/logo), hit start and quickly connect the watch - flashing will start automatically.

No idea what he's using, but I'll say that Sygic worked when NOT navigating (doing a route caused it to force close, I'm guessing possibly out of memory??) Using OsmAnd works pretty well ... of course, it's Open Street Map with all the usual limitations.

Sygic 10 works nice with Z1 using 3D maps.
Sygic 12 works nice with Z1 using 2D maps.
When attempting to navigate Sygic 12 with 3D maps enabled,
the Sygic 12 crashes and Z1 returns to Home screen.
Correction..
Sygic 12 works nice with Z1 using 3D maps
only when Autozoom is turned off:
Settings > Map > Autozoom [untick]

That is exactly what needs to be done! If porting the binaries is not possible at the moment, why not go ahead with building with stock android, with proper google account and apps, and removing the chinese accounts.
Once you have tweaked launcher/drawer, tweaked dpi of apps that not fit etc done, it would be almost as good as running CM7. Any improvement would be a big improvement
I sincerely hope that you continue development, the demand for a stock ROM is sure to come as the device becomes more popular, as of now, there is nobody developing for Z1, that i know of.

[Solved] GT-P5100 lagging and freezing

Hi,
I own my galaxy tab 2 since almost 2 years. Moved to CM 10.2 pretty quickly to improve it's reactivity, and it worked very nice for a while... until lags and delays to respond came back, months ago. It now takes some time to switch between apps, or to show/hide the keyboard, to type something.... Happens also during surf (firefox mobile - i use tabs extensively), sometimes causing crash. I moved to CM11 but that did not really solved the problem.
I believe GT2 is not the latest powerful on the market and newer ones would perform much better... but i'd like to try make that GT2 serves a bit longer, since i don't have that much high needs except surfing and reading.
I managed to find answers until then, now i'm a bit stucked. So as you'd guess, any suggestions would be welcomed

On mine, I can tell you that am using OmniRom From XDA based on android kitkat 4.4.4 and it's working very well with me. Try to clean the junk files and boost your tablet using CM- Clean Master
Hope that migh help

I (and several other people) have had issues with Clean Master and similar apps. I do not recommend it.
jrc2 > I took a quick look on slimroms and it looks nice. Dark is my color (ideal to save battery), and the embedded privacy guard is a feature that i'm very interrested in... (I use LBE, which is fine but i thought maybe it slows the system a bit)
Elbadri1 > OmniRom, why not ? Looks close to my current CM experience, and i read it's very stable. I could not find if that rom have also an app manager (privacy guard), do you know ?
I'm less sure about the cleaner tool, i prefer to avoid such apps usually...
Hi guys,
About the app it just was recommended to me by the Motorola customer services for my moto g 2 which had a problem with the internal memory. I usually use it for a quik clean and then uninstall it. Can you please post a link for the issues it's interesting cause i didn't like it at the first but since the customer services recommended it i though that it might be ok to use it.
About the privacy guard i really don't know but i can manage some of the app permissions (not all of them) and chosse to give it access or not. I posted photos for you but am not sure if it's what you need. Anyway can't u just install it after the rom?

It is mostly useless anyway. Recent Android is really good at ram and storage optimization and some tests have shown that it can in fact slow down your phone. If it works for you, great!

Yeah i had the same feeling at the beginning but i had some sort of fake storage size and using the app helped to put everything in it's place.. Motorola clamied that it's due to a lot of junk files but actually when i deleted this junk using the app the problem is solved and that happened on 5.0. 2 android version :/ anyway thanks for your answer maybe it just helped in my case
Hi Elbadri1
Thanks for taking time to send those pictures, much appreciated. Indeed it's pretty much the feature i'm looking for. Looks like it don't gives you control on each app's permission, as LBE does, but it's a start. I guess there's no problem reinstalling LBE if i need deeper control (or if i miss the ad blocker)
I'm still looking at SlimKat/SlimLP, and that feature seemed to gives you control on each permission.

I finally moved to SlimKat 4.4.4 Dhollmen yesterday, as i saw positive feedbacks on that one about stability. Nice ROM indeed, very fast to install, very responsive. I have to say there's improvement on my issues : switching between apps is faster (not immediate though, but way better), and the keyboard show/hides pretty much immediately as expected. This SlimKat installation is young, but since i did'nt had "slow typing issue" as it happened to me on CM11 (typing on Firefox could sometimes became painfully slow, had to kill the app and relaunch to get normal typing speed again).
On Firefox, i still experience lags, long page loadings, and sometimes crashes - especially if i open too much tabs. I guess it's because of my use : many tabs as said earlier, plus my Firefox is set with Desktop user agent - which might be demanding... But that's a 10.1" tablet, i prefer having a desktop navigation style, on many website it's way more comfortable, even if that costs me on the performance side. I wonder if a most recent/powerful model can handle navigation w/desktop UA "at desktop computer speed" - if not, i don't really have any reason to move.
Edit : some Improvements using thoses tricks (cache setting modified accordingly, of course) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280714
It's now close to something great in response, even if it freeze a bit and crashes sometimes when I open too much tabs or pages with too much animations, for instance. But I guess I'm close to what can be done with GT2 modest H/W....
I just passed to SlimLP... Great battery life and great overall experience but i must say am not using my tablet that much.. Just for youtube some medium web browsing and some music that's it. Very responsive compared to my omnirom and way less lag and a much much better battery life
Hi again,
This afternoon i copied files from a computer (windows) via USB. PDF files goes to my SD card without troubles, but xls files blocked (can't remember the message). I had to compress the files on a rar, luckily ES explorer can unzip and the files can be read on the tablet using WPS office. Also, I created a folder on the card from the computer, still trough the USB connection, but when trying to rename it : the explorer freezes.
Is there some kind of restrictions on SlimKat ? I can't remeber having that issues when I was on cyanogen...

Yes, I know where it is. But you need to wait some time. I have other projects. Sorry. It's all about not enough time and financial resources. You can try other my other MM releases. Especially BeanStalk and Temasek's CM13. Try what works best for you.
Plans have changed. I'll bring a SNAPSHOT build soon, with necessary fixes.
Fantastic Alexander
NEW SNAPSHOT BUILD
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224386332
Installation: Full wipe/Flash ROM + OpenGApps
You can use this build for now. I need to do more corrections, so I'll bring my best version soon and will delete this one later.
What will be changed in the future release:
1. Snap video recording will be corrected (not a big deal, you can successfully use Open Camera for that)
2. I'll remove some system apps, (like stock browser) and post it here, so if you really need it, you can just download apk files and install it as user apps. (This is for improving performance)
3. I'll remove screen blinks (Am I only one who see it? Let me know, leaving a comment)
Previous build made by rata** (r3t3ch) was removed. I want to emphasize he made that build. His toxic behavior and manner of talking speak for itself. Clearly, he's not an adult human being. He doesn't want to admit his mistakes, thinks he's a center of the universe, knows everything and poops in the brain if you just trying to help him. This is unacceptable and I will not stand such a toxic behavior.
What's new:
1. You can normally watch YouTube now (no patchy sound, it was easier than I thought)
2. Stock browser was replaced with Gello browser (already regret about it, the size is too big. Though it works)
If you'll find something not working, leave a comment here, I'll check it and if I'll not find it - shame on you. Though you can prove me wrong using logic and facts.
Hello,
Is there a suitable kernel for cm13 which allows for CPU to run at 1.7mhz, CPU voltage adjuster, USB fast charge, and speaker gain adjuster? Any number of adjustments is fine.
Thanks

Texas Instruments' description the maximum is 1.5mhz, so clearly I don't recommend you to find a suitable kernel for cm13 which allows for CPU to run at 1.7mhz. You can try AudioFx or DSP Manager to adjust your speaker.
I have no time for custom kernels. I'm too busy, you know. And unfortunately, often too much distracted (which is the main reason why I do these things so slowly). I need to correct CM13, Omni, Slim6, CandySix + bring 3 more AOSP MM ROMs (it's close, finally I found missing piece to make it boot), so I can say my job is finally done (I'm not satisfied for now). I want to finally start working on Nougat for tate.
Ok, everything seems fine except Snaps video recording. If I'll not find solution for that, I'll just bring last version of this SNAPSHOT and then move on. I have a lot to do.
Also, seems like nobody uses Google Calendar. (error -505 in the Play Store). The solution in the description.

I can't fix Snap Camera video recording for now. My advice to you: disable Snap Camera or better delete it (I always delete system Camera). Install Open Camera or another 3rd party app. No problems with 3rd party camera apps (Of course, I didn't try them all, it's impossible) And let's be realistic: you won't get good images or videos with this type of camera anyway. The purpose of this camera is video calling which it does. (not sure if it works with 3.0.101+ kernel but 100% I've seen Hangouts video calling working on one of my MM ROMs).
Like I promised, no screen blinks for now and I've removed some system apps (which you can find in the description if you need it).
I need to move on to the next ROMs now.

Hey Alex,
Great job in creating these ROMs, I will test them out as soon as possible and will of course provide feedback, hopefully all goes well. Also if you are planning on bringing nougat for this device, then you my friend are a wizard! Can't wait to hear back from you.
Edit: Okay... For some it keeps on saying "download failed" for the open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20161028, I've tried downloading it from github as well. Man, such bad luck already at 2:50am =(
Finished downloading the ROM before though.

Thanks. I want to finish my MM contribution in the near future then get some rest until winter (I feel exhausted). I'll start a Nougat on Kindle campaign somewhere in winter.

Quick request, whenever I try and download open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20161028 it keeps on saying "download failed" when it comes to finishing at around 106mb. Is it possible if you can upload this in Google drive (or any other cloud server) so that I can download this without it failing. I've tried looking for aalternative websites where I could download the gapps, but it ended the same way xD. Thanks bro! =)

Have you tried downloading open_gapps-arm-6.0-micro instead of open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico

I believe you have a problem with your browser. I've downloaded the last one pico package (a minute ago). I'm on Linux Mint 17.3 Mate (Chrome for Linux).
It was browser

Alright, got it to download =)
The boot time took around 4 minutes, I was really surprised when I saw Android Upgrading because everything looked so different, the looks of it beats them all. The setup was quick and simple. My first impressions of the ROM were that it looks good and is more reliable than android 5.1 (my experience with 5.1 was dreadful, too laggy!) The reason as to why it's more reliable is because for once the stock camera app actually works! This got me surprised. For kernel adiutor I did configure the "low memory killer" and chose very aggressive, however, since this is marshmallow I understand how much RAM it takes up, I had around 240mb of RAM left so not really sure if that's a good or a bad thing (in this case). Battery seems decent enough. For quadrant standard, I ran the full test and got around 12,398 that's actually quite good considering on android 4.4 I usually get around 8,000-9,000. I just want to know why the GPU OC is set on 384 as max. I did encounter a lot of minor bugs, in this case in the settings app whenever I click on a GUI the borders on top go from its original colour to black constantly. In the quick settings, whenever I were to click night mode, it would show the screen blinking for around a second or two (not sure if this is normal).
Regardless of the minor bugs, this ROM has potential! Hopefully in future releases you can get it to work more stable and lagfree. Can you recommend me which of the android 6.0 ROMs work best for you? Thanks man! This ROM still beats any android 5.1 I've tried on this device.
Kind regards,

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 20

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

It's not included in LineageOS sources either my code.
I tested this ROM for two days and so far it is a great experience without any major issues. Thanks!
Issues which I ran into:
- Fingerprint scanner works much worse when night backlight is turn on.
- Google camera from Play Store don't work, it just crashes.
Cool. But I cant download with android orginal browser and phone calls just playing ringtoone but nothing appeared in scrren to amswer and I should call to a number to unhide incoming call dialog!
Hello everyone.
First of all, a big BIG thank you @Englezos for this ROM, even unofficial. For the little I used it, it is extremely functional, much more than the unofficial ROM /e /OS https://community.e.foundation/t/un...-mi9t-pro-raphael-e-os-q-build/24814?u=parhit (last update in May 2021 and many bugs). No worries on my side about digital recognition, ergonomics and even the separation of personal and professional profiles (via Insular). I had a bit of trouble installing it (the adb sideload was showing 40% and made me restart but it didn't work, same thing the second time but there I just waited maybe a bit more before seeing with relief the Lineage logo).
I'm reporting some bugs I've encountered, on the personal or pro side.

The alarm clock does not ring if the phone is switched off. So I was late this morning
Again a BIIIIG UP. I was going to go back to MIUI out of spite but to have a stable OS, thanks to you I stay on the right side

1. That's the default AOSP behavior until Google changes it. You can try lower the density.
2. Because this device is not a Google Pixel.

It appears that it was a LineageOS bug which is already fixed and will be included into the next build. About the phone calling issue that you just described I can't reproduce it.

Thanks for your words and your detailed feedback. I'm glad that you have managed to installed the rom successfully.
About the Yuka app unfortunately its not available on my country and I can't install it via Google Playstore.
Brain and Uphold apps are loading and working fine.
Android browser: It appears that it was a LineageOS bug which is already fixed and will be included into the next build.
The alarm clock won't work if your device is powered off. Why would you want such thing?
Hi Englezos, thanks for the fast feedback.

Yuka only in France? ****... Maybe with a VPN? Can I help?
Brain.fm and Uphold working fine? Holy sh*t. I don't know why it doesn't work here. What tool do you use to install apps?
Browser: ok, I am using Bromite but it sounds good if it will be fixed.
Alarm: well, an alarm clock that doesn't ring is strange, isn't it? I didn't have a watch and I turn off the phone at night. So I thought the alarm would go off even if it was off (which is what was happening with Murena). Am I the only one doing this?
Installed this ROM as OTA for Los 19.1 (SebaUbuntu). Thanks for new version.
All work as need.

Hi there. Great
So is it necessary to reinstall everything from scratch or is a classic update possible? This is the first time I've had an update available on an unofficial ROM
