I dont have a pc or this would not be an issue.
I use my 10.1 and gn2 for all my computer work as my pc killed the motherboard. I would like to use my seagste central wireless hard drive as my network hd. Not an issue, it shows in es file explorer but it will not let me access my password protected folders. Is there a way to access them, even from another explorer, or do I have to use the less than effecient seagate app.
Also, is there a way to download my music files straight from google play to my seagate central? I have them all on an external hd, but my seagate will not read powered hd's. I cannot transfer them through my samsung smart dock because it only reads fat32, and my usb adapter for my 10.1 is the same. I cant even figure out how to do a mass download od my music, 20, 000 plus songs, on to my note. I was trying to download in small portions onto my ext micro but I have to do it individual albums or artists.
Any ideas?
When will manufactures start giving phones and tablets the same access as pc's
OK,
Wife and I have a large music collection stored on a NAS. We previously used iTunes to pick out the good stuff from this collection and manage it on our old iPhone 4's and that worked great. How are folks doing this on their N5's? Some caveats:
1 - Cloud is not an option, so no Google Music. No unlimited data and like to spend weeks off the grid.
2 - Freeware only.
3 - Since our collection was in iTunes via remote network shares, drag and dropping it via USB or BT won't work as all the files we want are not in one place. They are referenced on the network share by iTunes, not stored locally on our PC's.
I've tried DoubleTwist but that was flakey as hell with our N5 USB MTP connections. Also imported iTunes collection into MusicBee which look sgreat on Windows but it was also flakey synching over MTP USB connection. It would freeze during synchs (latest version on Windows 7). If I turned off WiFi and Mobile Data I got it to synch everything but lots of artwork was missing that is definitely embedded in the files.
So looking for something free and reliable like iTunes that meets my requirements mentioned above. Thanks!

looks like you have switched from iphone you just need to "copy" and "paste" the music in the storage and nothing else
the player will automatically detect it from anywhere in the phone.

I haven't switched from iPhone, been a htc user.
When i connect s6 to mac using usb then load up kies i get this pop up
An alternative is you can boot to Windows using Boot Camp. Connect your S6 via USB. Windows will recognize your S6 as a USB drive. Copy and paste all your music files to a folder on your S6. Your S6 will recognize the music files automatically. This worked for me and my macbook pro.

Use Android File Transfer for Mac OSX
https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
You mean on OS X, the phone does not show up as a normal starge device where you can copy your files?
Man, S6 is a Samsung device not HTC. i thought it was an IP 6s, lol. For android, the process is quite simple, just copy and paste music to the Music folder on your phone. Make sure the format is supported by Android, like MP3, WMV, etc... DRM protected music will not work on the device.
Samsung seems to be transitioning from KIES to Smartswitch. KIES does not support the most recent phones.
Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to transfer whole albums from my android phone (LG G4) to my Windows PC. I use Google Photos as my app for managing images and creating albums within the app, but when I connect my phone to my PC via usb, I no longer see the albums but all the images mixed up. I figured there must be an app (diferent to google photos) which will allow me to do this. Do you know any? Or any other way to do this?
Thank you!
I just use seperate folders and Syncthing, it's open source too and works really well
Hello, are there any pc sync managers for android, similar to MediaGo? I used MediaGo since I had my Xperia Tipo and it worked great with Samsungs and Huaweis since. But now it's discontinued and I can't find anything similar.
What I'm looking for:
-Sync with USB
-Knows which files are already shared between PC & Android, so I don't have to manually keep track which files to transfer.
-Syncs to folders (eg. Pictures from Android album "funny" goes to PC folder "funny")
That's really the main requirements. Please help.
