I just received my Nexus 5 here in Germany. When I set up the device, I set it up as United Kingdom English (Just thought it was an extra piece of info that might help.)
Anyway, the "OK Google" feature doesn't work. Does anyone know why?
There are about 1,000 posts explaining you need to switch the language to English US for it to work.

Although I know Chinese, there is still some guessing involved in this... especially the second last phrase
Whatever I add to make it make sense are in () brackets. Here's my take:
First of all thank those who worried I'll ("the phone will" makes more sense) turn to a brick (when it did for 20 hours), those who helped me.

You can buy any phone and then convert it's language to spanish and for the phone= it will be good if you give us some specs you need in your phone and some companies which you think will be nice for your mom!!

agree, the point is, to match the phone specs and your mom's habit of using her phone. I assume she doesn't need a really high performance specs for games or any complex apps, IMHO, the one with average specs for daily use (phone, texting, sending email/social app, editing docs) and a good connection (wifi, bluetooth, mobile network) should be enough for her
the phone which is simple enough for her to operate. show her the options and she will choose for herself:good:
My mom had the similar problem, now she is using iphone and can't be more satisfy with it.

I been trying to figure out what is wrong, but I keep finding the same answers, which doesn't work for me.
I've been trying to get Google Now voice commands to work. I'm in Denmark, but have changed the setting to English (US). When I go to Google Now and say "OK Google", voice command is activated and listening. It seems it easily understands what I'm saying, but saying any of these commands does not really work: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/2842392?hl=en .
When I say it, Google just does a regular Google search - but again, no problem understanding my dialect. The only things I can do is to get it to do calling and opening apps (have tried many of the commands in the example.
How can this be? Anyone got a solution?
Furthermore, I don't get any of these beutiful cards when searching, only when I go to Google Now before doing the voice command.
Thank - any help is much appriciated as I've been using so much time working this thing out

Think I forgot the specs. I'm running a HTC One (2013) with Android 4.4.2 on stock ROM.

I guess bumping means something along the lines of "Here's a reply to get it back to the top to gain attention". Sounds like a fair think when the post is of such an importance!
Seems Denmark once again gained that attractive position as the 236th most important country in the eyes of OS developers (danish irony for those who didn't know ). Maybe it's time for a scandinavian based OS :victory:

Obviously no solution for this when you live in Denmark
A friend of mine lived in Thailand for a year and picked up a phone while he was there. Its a i-mobile IQ 5.1. I was hoping someone here can tell me what direction i should go when it comes to putting a new rom on it. I cant seem to find anything on here about it and the only website/forum i can find about it is in Thai. I dont know anyone that can read Thai and unfortunately Google translate isn't very good when it comes to translating longer texts. The site is called droidfriend (it wont let me post a outside link)
Any help would be great guys! Thank you!

You are correct there is no info on XDA.
One suggestion - When you search the net, if you use Chrome browser, it will do a good job of translating- I just tried it on 2 websites that were posted in Thai - it took about 20 seconds but worked just fine !!

Yes, pretty sure it does and I totally agree it's confusing.
There does not appear to be many resources for that device, I have not tried any search engines other than good ole' Google.
I am using Gear Watch Designer to create watch faces for the Samsung Gear Store and I have a problem that I need help fixing. The problem is when I create a watch face and it has the date on it, the date dispersers when the user changes the language. Anyone know how to just make it stay on the watch face, even when the user has changed the language? This would be a great help if someone does know, thanks!
I've gotten complaints about that as well, so I just always have everything set to US English. It is a bug in the program of course like everything Samsung does.

I don't really know. I don't have an S2 to test it, but I have not gotten any complaints after I did that. I set all my text to English US.
Maybe someone else can chime in on this. Whenever I submit a face, I always set language English use only so people understand that.

Ok thanks for replying. It's frustrating because I don't know how to fix it and they keep rejecting my watch faces on the store because of it.

Try setting all your text to English US, all time and date text boxes. That is the only thing I can think of that will help. Good luck!

Thank you so much it actually worked. The text on my watch faces were originally set to sync to device but now that I have changed it, it has fixed the issue.

It will only be English until they fix the sync to device feature.
