360 Wireless Controller Reciever - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, has anyone had any luck getting the 360 wireless controller receiver to work with the N5? I've tried the various methods posted around xda for other devices but non of them work, has anyone any ideas? The Receiver is detected correctly as It's listed as a usb device but nothing happens when the pad is connected.
Edit: I've just tried it with my Galaxy Nexus and it's working fine, that's also running a kitkat ROM so could it be a kernel issue?

Interesting... I always thought it needed to be a wired controller. I'll have to try this out when i get home and report back.

I can't get it to work either. Tried following the guide by sleeplessninja.

[Q] PS3 Wireless Tether issue (Wierd...already looked at other threads)

Hey, yes, I know there are already several threads about this but I am a bit confused. My Set up: CDMA Hero CM 6.1 stable. Me being a newb for the most part to all of this...I just found out the other day...after have a rooted phone for about 6 months...that my hero can do wireless tether. So I installed the app and bam...works like a charm, immediately after installing and running for the first time, my ps3 DID detect and connect to my phone wirelessly. I even played a round of free-for-all on Black Ops to test it out and it worked great. Now today I had some down time so I figured I'd play some COD...but now my ps3 is NOT detecting or connecting with my phone. WTF!? I should also mention that after installing wireless tether on my wife's rooted EVO(froyo), I was also able to connect through her EVO on the PS3. Haven't tried using the Evo again as it's currently not in front of me. Just curious why it worked then and not now, or why it even worked at all if the PS3 supposedly doesn't pick up ad-hoc?(From what I've gathered, Wireless Tether uses AdHoc) I do have full EasyTether, which I was using before I discovered WT, so I'm not SOL, but I was hoping to finally be able to eliminate the cords and wires and what not. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
*EDIT*
Wife just got back home, grabbed her evo, and what do you know...ps3 connects with no issues...so now I have to figure out what happened or what I did to my phone to "F" it up. I am running DroidWall...the firewall is disabled, wireless tether is checked on whitelist, but this was the case when my phone was connected to the ps3 before, but I'm thinking that perhaps this or some other app is interfering. Anything I should make sure is allowed or denied data access? I'm at a loss.
^Bump^ Please...any ideas

[Q] Infuse wont see bluetooth devices on stock rom

I have a bluetooth OBD2 reader for my car and while using the stock rom on my infuse, the phone never sees the device so I cannot pair it. I was using the serendipity rom and it sees the reader and pairs perfectly. Are the two roms using different bluetooth protocols? Is there an update of some kind to get it to work?
forgot to mention the bluetooth adapter i am using is an ELM327. I used it with no problems on my Evo and on the infuse using the s7 rom. The stock rom will not see it at all.

That's weird... I know that Samsung-derived ROMs have issues in their Bluetooth stack - it's why you can't use Wiimotes or the Sixaxiscontroller app for PS3 controllers.
However - stock ROM and S7 should be identical in this regard other than maybe Gingerbread vs. Froyo.
CM7 is where you should see significant differences in terms of support for "unusual" devices like Wiimotes and such.
Can anyone else confirm that their S7 rom (NOT CM7) can see a wiimote or ps3 controller?

I haven't even tried - I assume it won't. Will try tonight but I'm assuming failure.
A pseudo-serial device like that OBDII unit may be an oddball corner case.

oh...I just tried it for several times, but still......
Try another cable. If that doesn't work then the problem is the USB port on your PC

I have the same problem sometimes also. I just disconnect and connect it again and it works. It does that on both my computer and the charger.
Fixed in last version.
FJFALCON: Thank you for that and also the incredible work you're doing.
Because of people like you, my once awful phone suddenly became amazing. I love showing off the new features on it to my friends.

Well, that kind'a your private problem =)
Maybe you are right!
But its fine with 24th April image and stock 2.1 UK rom!
- In 26th image, WiFi MAC ID keeps changing continuously
So was wondering if its really a h/w issue or the image has something wrong
thanks for supporting.
I will rebuild wlan driver so wait.
Great!
Thanks, fjfalcon.
06.05.2012 build fixes all issues, including storage access and WiFi MAC.
Great Work
Hello:
Thanks all the developers for your wonderful work. Installed the latest cm7 20120506 on XT720 and it feels completely different and much better phone now.
Everything seems to be working fine except I am not able to get wifi tethering working on this phone. I do not know if it is my phone only or is general problem.
I did some extensive reading for tethering and it was mentioned that it should run in infrastructure mode. or putting "dun" in apn etc. I even tried wifi tether app also. On this phone, I did not see two options "MSS clamping" and "Routing Fix" which seems to be critical.
As a last resort I tried bluetooth tethering and this seems to be working. I did the following
1: Install PdaNet 3.5 and FoxFi on XT720 for bluetooth tethering.
2. iPad: Pairing and connecting with XT720 immediately started working.
3. Galaxy s2: Installed Pdanet Tablet and connected to XT70:
I would appreciate your comments on getting wifi tethering to work with CM7 7.0 version
Once agains thanks to the developers.
Reboot on incoming call...
Has anyone else observed this ! Almost every alternate incoming call, it reboots.
Using 06-05-2012 image. Any help ?
Modakjay great idea for the wifi share, thanks.

Same with CM-20120617 !

[Q] Help!! Bluetooth Issue

I am having issue using bluetooth on this phone. It doesnt connect to my Jawbone ICON HD and my car bluetooth. I tried everything I know to make this work. Is this a software issue? is anyone having the same issue? Please help.
Thanks

It would help if you provide a bit more info here. Do you have the XT925 or XT926? What's your car?
I own a XT925 - Australian (Telstra) version of the Razr HD. I've been able to connect it successfully to the following devices under the stock 4.1.2 and CM10.2/11:
Macbook Pro
Skoda Bluetooth 9W3 kit
Sony SBH-50 Headset
One thing to note is that the stock 4.1.2 regressed BT functionality - it wasn't sending track information (a bug in A2DP?), this has been fixed in CM10.2/11 and I assume really the fix comes from AOSP 4.3/4.4.
Do note that sometimes your phone may not be compatible with the device you're connecting to (actually, usually it's the other way round to be honest, with the device not implementing BT profiles correctly). In-built car BT is often known to do this. The Skoda BT 9W is luckily a very forgiving module with very little trouble reported by users.
YMMV.
I have BlueConnect in my car. It used to work before with no issues but now it stopped. The bluetooth connects to my phone but no voice or anything. I also have a jawbone ICON HD, the phone wont detect it at all. I feel its a phone issue. I am on stock 4.1.2. Phone is XT926
Any thoughts?

When did it stop working? Was it after a ROM upgrade or just on its own?
Does the Bluetooth setting appear to work at all - i.e. changing visibility, etc?
Have you tried looking at the kernel logs - i.e. with logcat?
Alright so I got it to work. I had to do a full factory reset erasing all data. Now it works.
I don't remember when I stopped working. But I used to think that it was my car bluetooth until I figured that it wasn't the case.
Thanks anyway.

the entire point is to have a reliable wired connection. I don't know if the G3 can handle ethernet to usb.
As an IT professional, being able to plug into Ethernet ports would be kinda helpful.
usb > ethernet > usb
that would work... but what would be the point? the phone can tether over usb, but I suppose that's going on the other direction, perhaps what you're after is Internet Pass-through? I've seen this on HTC phones, so it's technically possible, but I'm going to guess it's built into the kernel, not a normal android option.
