My Xoom 2 will not charge, bought A NEW BATTERY AND STILL DOES NOT CHARGE. I am using a 5v - 1.6A output motorola charger and it shows charging but never actually charge. Can it be something to do with the charging port? I have also tried several other charges but to no avail.
You're not the first person to say about possible problems with charging port.
But if your xoom says its charging, i think the problem is the battery...
Try to turn off the tablet and plug the charger and wait 30min or more..
If the batteries% dont change, probably the batery is the problem...
[When you turn off the tablet, even a 800mAh can recharge the battery ]

Compared to my OG droid, this takes easily 2-3 times as long. It charges like my OG droid did when hooked up to usb in a desktop. Is is possible the Charge has some bug where it isn't detecting it is hooked up to AC power?

I'm not sure that it takes LONG to charge. It's a different battery. 1600mah is a pretty huge battery for a smartphone. Biggest of most out there. Takes time to charge, but you will be please with the performance you get out of this battery letting it stay as is.
I'm not familiar with OG Droid but it depends on what charging method used?.....a/c adapter aka home charger? usb from computer? usb car charge? car charger?
Each connection varies on mah, charger output, and applications used while charging.
Charging from a non-AC adapter, or anything that gets picked up as a USB connection (your computer) will charge roughly half as fast as it would from a wall outlet. It can be fixed, but I don't mind the slower charging via USB most of the time, and find that I actually get better battery life if I charge to 100% that way.
Hey all,
how much time it takes you to full charge it?
my battery was ~10% 7 hours ago, i went to sleep, and now its still charging ~95%
im using htc charger, and its connected to wall, and its just taking him to long.
tnx
not sure ...my charger seems to work fine..few hours but on usb need soooo loonnnggggggggg...i know its faster on charger but on usb is just too much..
My significant other has the same problem with her Sony ericsson charger (she has an X10 Arc), my charger on the other hand works perfectly.
If you have the possibility of trying another charger, you can find out where the fault is...

My battery was charged from 23% to 100% in 2.5 hour with original wall charger.
That's way too long. Even from 0% shouldn't take you more than 2.5 hours.
Something is wrong with your wall charger.
fffuuuuuuuuuuu
i will try another one
I charge from ~20% to full in maybe 3 hours on USB.
Try charging from USB to see how long that takes.
I will take a few hours, maybe 4, to do a full charge from USB.
If it seems that it will take a good bit longer than that then it could be you cable.
i have another wall charger, and i will try from usb.
will take few days of testing
If you're using the HTC charger & cable plugged into a wall socket, you should be able to charge fully in about 2-3 hours, because the charger should pass 800-1000mA to the phone for much of the time, instead of the 500mA max from a PC USB socket.
It may be that the charger is (for some reason) not getting above 500mA: maybe it's the cable, or the phone is too hot or too cold.
Or perhaps the phone is running something quite hardware-intensive and soaking up half of the power that the charger is producing.
Have you tried running Battery Monitor Widget? It will give you an indication (a log too) of the input voltage and the power consumption over those seven hours.
For comparison, my Desire S runs at under 10mA when idle, and can charge from 25% in a couple of hours.
Might want to try charging when phone is off then.
ok, tried another charger, this one made 70% in less then 2 hours.
so the first one is ****ed, will recheck him maybe with usb-charging
Oh!!!
I always use the usb port on my laptop... So it is the reason...
Ive been using my s3 for about 40 minutes on CM10. Plugged into a dual usb charger connected to not ip port, which in the past i have used fine. I have lost 5% battery in this time. Current widget doesn't work yet with S3. Suggestions?
Edit - The first time I got the phone after a full charge and discharge, while plugged into stock charger and before anything root, the same problem happened.

From what I heard, the charger can't charge the phone fast enough when you are using it thus the losing charge while plugging in. If you are talking about losing percentage right after you disconnect the phone from the charger, that is a feature, I do not know at the top of my head why it does it.
If charging through USB port (and many car chargers) you're capped at 500mA vs 700+ for wall chargers. You can install a kernel that supports fast charging and you will get 700mA through USB.

I'm having the same issue whether charging from usb or a power outlet. Charges for a bit initially, then drains. Happens with different cords, too. I'll pick it up and it will feel warm, see that the battery is lower than when I plugged it in, then put it down. Then it cools off and starts charging again. Any ideas?
Same here except
i have the same issue, i had stock Touchwiz and suddenly the phone started to discharge while on charging outlet, tried different chargers, outlets, different ports, etc. still wouldnt work, i even deleted several applications and turned off several phone functions, etc. still nothing, then i rooted to CM10.1 and the same issue still presists, the phone charges a bit then discharges weather i use it or not. the only solution to charge it, it seems to be by turning off the phone. i think it has to do with the usb port on the phone as i even had the battery changed and it still would discharge while on a charger.
S3 Battery Decreasing while charging SOLVED !!

I am not sure what the problem is, so maybe someone can help me.
I have a tf101 whit docking not rooted or anything.
The battery is drained 1% I can start the tabled and it shuts down, exactly what you would expec. When i plug in the adapter directly in the docking or tablet alone. it does not say charching. When i leave the charger in the tablet it is actualy charching(over night it is 30%), but it is not saying that it is charging. When the battry is 30% and i leave the charger in and start up the tablet the battery drains to zero.
I have tried multiple cables and chargers and all simulair.
Anyone?
I just found out that it is charching whit the original charger again. Maybe the charger has been the issue over all.
For now the tablet is charging again and problem looks OK again I still think it is a combo of battey getting bad and bad charger.
The adaptive fast charger that came with my phone works well with my galaxy s6. Fast charging works well and I can get up to 50% charge in about 25 mins. But the problem is it doesn't charge any other phone apart from galaxy s6. If I plug my htc one or lg g3 or any other phone (even blackberry), it will indicate its charging but won't add any juice. I've tried charging other phones for up to 30 mins, rather than charging the battery % will either stay where it is or sometimes drain. It can't even charge simple things like a modem or even a ps4 controller. I once plugged a ps4 controller and the charging light indicated, but to my surprise after 1 hour of charging it still was not able to add one bar to the battery. In fact if I plug a phone with 2% battery , after 20 mins of charging the phone dies.
I want to know if anyone else have this problem and possible solution, or was this charger designed like this?
Same here. Doesn't charge my Nexus 5. Not a big deal for me though, as I have other chargers.
But sorry, no solution
Noticed it too long ago.
But using other cord with the s6 adapter charger works, atleast in my experience.
I haven't noticed this. I use the same charger and cable to charge my Nexus 5 and my ecig. No issues.
