That sounds good cause right now Sammy keyboard has the number row but no long press symbols, while swiftkey has long press symbols and no number row
This is great news! I think they realized that with the devices getting bigger, it's a must have now.

That's the exact reason why I was torn between the two last year. Samsung came out on top because I tend to use numbers more than symbols (password, date, etc).

Great news. Thanks! I haven't been using SK because of it.
It's been about time for this. I made my note 3 showing the change input method thingy in the notification bar just for that reason. Let's just hope that the update is coming soon.
Every keyboad must have dedicated numeric pad just like sammy keyboard. It feels annoying when you have to press extra buttons to get the numeric pad. Thats the main reason I am using sammy keyboard.
Very good. With screens this big there really is no reason that the option shouldn't be there. Not everyone wants the dedicated number row, but many do. If Swiftkey implement this their userbase will grow, I am sure lots of people refrain from using SK because it lacks the number row.
Oh great, more keys to accidentally hit. :silly: The arrows bar is my best friend and my worst enemy at the same time....
You do realize you can just hit the 123 key and you get numbers?

With that '123 key' you type >press 123 key> type number >press key again to get back to typing. If thats cool with you, more power to ya. The point for many is not having to do all that. It's not the smooth flow of using a keyboard with a dedicated number row.

Nice. Now if they could implement the swype to move the cursor, like Samsung keybord, that would be perfect.
Anyway, can't use Samsung keyboard because of the long press to get to exclamation points/etc. It takes to much time. And the swype option is very slow compared to SwiftKey Flow feature.

As many of you know, SwiftKey 3 beta was released today. I've been using it for the last couple hours... And it's amazing. I really recommend trying it out.
Had a hard time finding this myself and it makes you create an account, so i figured id post up a direct link for the other slow people out there.
http://www.swiftkey.net/swiftkey-3-beta-smart-space-ui-themes
http://bit.ly/HKAPLw <--- direct download
EDIT:
Two things that are majorly missing, are longpress time (how long i have to hold to long press, i usually lower from 3000 to 2000) and the swipe function sensativity. But the new themes are quite nice.
Thanks for the heads up.
Any noticeable differences over the original/paid version?
I love mine. Got it when it was on sale.
Best keyboard I've ever used.

I guess I like the new one so far. But the new settinngs button at the bottom left of the keyboard is driving me nuts. Anyone figure out yet how to get rid of it? I wasn't able to.
Also, does anyone know how to back up your learned keyboard style so it doesn't have to re-learn my typing habits everytime I flash a new SwiftKey or ROM?

Im with you. I've gotten used to everything except that they switched the settings button and the special characters button between swiftkey x and swiftkey 3. Every time i go to key in a number I hit the settings button
Still cant get used to lack of comma and questionmark keys. do not like the swyping, slows me down drastically.

OMG, the lack of the comma now and the stupid settings key is pissing me off!
And with ICS Leak, both old & new Swift Key have been weird. Sometimes it'll start editing in the middle of a sentence instead of at the end and won't let me force it to start editing at the end of a sentence.
I'll try to reflash a ROM to see if it helps.

Has anyone tried out the Beta of the keyboard? I just downloaded it and I have to say, i've never typed faster (although I've only typed out one Twitter post with it and nothing else).
I'll leave my impressions of it after i use it more!
The beta is awesome! I keep trying to put in question marks but keep forgetting that they combined question/exclamation/period to 1 key now .
I am thoroughly enjoying the larger spacebar. I don't miss now.
I always had a problem with SwiftKey X and hitting "b" onstead of the space bar but that problem is gone now. I'd like to see a then engine implemented though, as well as a comme button instead of the SwiftKey Settings button.
And i dont't know what it is about SwiftKey and I but it never seems to autocorrect for me. It's not that it corrects improperly, it just doesn't do it.

From what I can see it doenst autocorrect but does give the option to select the proper word. If its not doing that re-run the setup and choose to have it use autocorrect instead of you selecting the corrected word.
I just picked rapid instead of precision and it auto corrects for me.

Miss some old features
I really miss having dedicated push and hold comma and exclamation keys. Speed up some areas and slow down others. With press and hold delay set really low I could fly on the old version. Also still pretty laggy on ics. I am going to try task650 AOKP latest release to see if there is any lag improvement because it is bad enough right now to have me looking at alternatives...
Oh, and it appears that 'long press duration' is no longer an available option. Hopefully it will get added back after beta.

Well I am happy to report that with the new beta, comma IS back, and I love the location, long press duration has improved speed of accessing secondary characters, and lag has been GREATLY minimized on ICS. So far even the beta is a keeper! Oh, and no more double and triple back swipes to delete a word. That was driving me crazy...

Try changing from rapid to precise or vice versa. Strangely in they seemed to work opposite for me. Rapid in the old version feels like precise in the new one. I switched to the old version after a rom upgrade over the weekend and forgot how fast it was. I am still waiting for the new version to come out of beta. The swipe punctuation is a bad step IMO.

Hi guys,
I am struggling with the floating keyboard to the extent that I want to smash the damn thing to pieces .
1. For the love of God - how can you move the floating keyboard around? I manage to move it once every 100 tries....
2. When in multiscreen mode, it's extremely slow and laggy. Do you have the same problem?
Thanks.

long press on it. than you can move it.
I had no lag issues with it, but recently i pulled thumb keyboard out of mothballs and have been using it.
i just take 2 fingers one finger on a character or number and the other finger on a different char or number, hold for a sec and move.
hold down with two fingers and move when you see blue border appears. floating keyboard is useful in most places as it can move around but prediction and accuracy are horrible. download TouchPal keyboard from store, it's the best but no floating keyboard or a split one.

So, after getting my Note in August, and using it for email and Internet, I've finally been checking out what this thing can really do. Supposedly, I can switch pens (after creating pre-set pens in S Note) by pressing the S Pen button. Well, sometimes this works. Mostly, it doesn't. I've tried pressing hard, pressing softly, holding the button down, close to the screen, on the screen, away from the screen. Doesn't matter.
When it does work, which is maybe one out of every thirty tries, I can't figure out why. And then, once it's switched to the next pen, that's it. I can't switch again.
Anyone else experience this? Might this be something I can adjust by turnig the little screws under the button?
Update: Tried this on a coworker's Note 10.1, and he's having the same issue. Even tried switching S Pens. No luck.
Just another bug in the new SNote, if this is the only flaw you noticed consider yourself lucky! I have the same problem in the main app as well, the toggle between pen and rubber in the small mode is working great though. Does that work on your device (hold the button and double-tap the screen to get up the small SNote)? If it does, at least you know it's not you nor the hardware.

Wow, I didn't even know it did that. Yeah, that works fine. Thanks!
'Nuther question: Is the pen switching thing supposed to work only in the new S Note (on Jellybean), or was that supposed to be a feature in the ICS version, too? I'm having some trouble finding specifics about new S Note features online. Lots of articles refer to "enhanced S Note features, " but very few say what they actually are!

As far as I can remember toggle between pen and rubber is supported even in ICS SNote but not toggle between your favorite pens. Ie, just like it works at the small quick note app now. But I'm not sure to be honest, that wasn't a feature I learned to use since I only had that SNote a couple of days before upgrading to JB.
I'm sure you already know this, but if you haven't consider giving LectureNotes a try!

Yeah, I've checked out Lecture Notes. Even tried Evernote for a few days and was pretty excited about it. But I mainly use S Note for journaling, not note taking. And the ability to slap a picture, video, or map in there on-the-fly, is pretty awesome. I have a three year old, and you just can't beat how easy it is to stick a video or audio recording in your note.
If I was using this in school, I may feel differently.

So weird... this is working for me now. I think maybe my pens were so close to each other that I didn't realize it was working. I don't know. But I went in and created 7 pens, of the colors of the rainbow, so I could be sure I knew if they were switching. And they do. And when it reaches the end of the list, it switches to the eraser, then starts at the beginning of the list again.

Nope, that's not the problem here since it's working just fine at the quick note app even if it's just toggle between pen and rubber in that particular version. So the pen nor the handling it aint, it's just an SNote bug that seems to appear in some versions of SNote.

Hey guys, so I got the note 10 plus, I moved over from IPhone and so far am loving the phone. However there are 2 issues I can't seem to resolve.
1. Samsung keyboard doesn't Auto correct all the time. It works sometimes but not always. Might be I'm typing too fast for the Auto correct to work. So I've installed gboard and it works so much better.
2. I don't get Facebook notifications when the screen is off. When I'm using the phone yes a notification pops up, but while I'm not using it and screen is off no notification is pushed. I then open Facebook and I see there is X amount of notification.
Anyone else seem to have this issue?
Thanks

Hi Jemfalor,
The keyboard I couldn't get to work right. But with Facebook I think I fixed it. I spent 20-30 mins testing the FB notification with my and my wife's S10 and it seems to be same issue. However I went into the battery optimised screen and turn off Facebook option and it seems to have fixed it. Email Instagram were switched off. After I did this I tested it again and it worked. While screen was off I was still getting notifications.

Just to echo above users re SwiftKey.
I've been using SwiftKey for many years now.
What I still find astonishing, is how well SwiftKey predicts the words I'm about to type in my messages/emails.
I've counted sometimes...... its 5,6,7,8 words in a row.!
On top of that, i mix 2 x languages, whilst typing
and it still predicts correctly.!
I have plenty of keyboard options installed
Google, Samsung, Minuum etc see screenshot below.
For SwiftKey predictions whilst "mixing my languages predictions" is for me, just amazing.
