Google Text-To-Speech - Galaxy Note 3 General

Dont know if this was posted yet but Google has just release it's TTS as a separate app on the playstore.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tts
So now we can have the superior Google female voice set for turn-by-turn navigation. Just install the app on the playstore and Settings>>Device>>Accessibility>>Text-to-Speech-options and change it to Google.

[REQUEST] Looking for Best Text to Speech App. Svox Classic TTS Gone!

Looking for a great text to speech app with natural voices. The "Talk To Me" App in the market is missing the SVOX Classic TTS Engine plugin. The better sounding natural voices "to buy" are no longer in the market. Any ideas for a language translation tool that sounds better than Pico TTS? Anyone have the SVOX TTS Engine APK?

Please have a look at SVOX Mobile Voices' blog. There are no voices for Froyo yet as they're waiting for release approval by Google.

Try Loquendo. It's in the Market. $4.99 Though. Only one voice right now, but it sounds great. More voices to come according to the website.

If you're running Froyo, you won't find it in the market, as miki4242 said.
Try Loquendo, I use it. Its pricey but thats, afaik, the only option on Froyo.
This is what I have. I need the mandarin TTS. Any ideas where I can buy it? I am unable to download from google's android market. I assume it is because China is blocked by Google.

You mean Google is blocked by China. It's your country that is blocking you, not the other way around. Communism at it's best
I am not here for stupid slinging. So go away. FYI search google and you will find China is NOT supported by Google's market.
And BTW China is NOT my country, I just live here.

Google navigation

is it possible to get this to work with Google navigation?
I don't think it's possible, however, if you're looking for different voices for Google Navigation, you could check out something like IVONA Text-to-Speech for Android (Google it, I can't post links yet) or you could look for other TTS solutions for Android.

[Q] Replaceing Svoice with Google TTS?

I could have sworn that I saw you could change svoice to use the google tts service some where. You didn't need to root the watch but needed a rooted phone which I have now.
Or am I going crazy and seeing posts in my dreams? lol:laugh:

This would be awesome. S Voice's feedback makes me nauseous.
I've done it, my phone is currently using the google female voice and my girlfriends gear 2 is using the horrible samsung one. The problem is I don't know how exactly I did it. But start here:
From the phone open settings
Click language and input
Scroll all the way to the bottom and click text to speech options
Select google instead of samsung
Click the gear button to the right of the google selection
Click install voice data
Then english (united states)
Then select "female (high quality)"
Let it finish downloading and try s voice from the watch again. You should hear the google voice instead. Thats all I did and now have the google voice. I think thats all I did lol

LanguageInput/Voice search/OK google detection
check all the 3 boxes and say ok google 3 times, click OK.
Just for info. After enabling OK Google everywhere you cannot record any sound using voice recorder as microphone stands by for any response from Google. There needs to be a kinda white list to exclude voice recorder. Maybe "ok Google for 3rd party activity" module (already available) be helpful in such case.
The problem that I don't have the 3 boxes I have only ok google from Google search app and I tried everything even ok google everywhere method ?
Your Google now hasn't been updated to latest version yet.

Sounds like you have the latest version. From what I understand, Google is activating ok google everywhere on an acct basis so that probably means you have not been selected yet. However, there is a workaround that you can try. Open the google now app and type in "ok google everywhere" on the search bar. This apparently activates it. Personally i haven't tried this method as i was activated before this workaround was posted.
Make sure you set language to English (US) in case you're using the UK version. Otherwise it doesn't work. Weirdly.

First of all I would like to thank you all but I tried all the ways but no success even the go around method and nothing I have everything set to English US even I sent to google but they didn't answer?

Try this, it worked with me:
1- Open google search app
2- type in : Okay Google Everywhere
3- Hit search
4- Hit menu key and choose settings, then choose voice, then choose OK Google word detection, you should find multiple options including "Ok google from any screen"
Best of luck

Guide to enable Google services on China variant AL00

Hi everyone,
I've been seeing many people having issues with installing Google framework on the AL00 variant.
The fact is that Google framework is already baked in and it is just a simple update to enable it.
1. Open app gallery and change country to China
2. Search for Google play store and click update
3. After update, click on open
4. The usual setup will appear
5. Done.
After the above steps, the majority of Google services and sync, etc should all be working.
* Update - OK Google does not work out of the box.
Have a good time with your new baby ?
Cheers!
Vincent

I should say Google framework instead of services. I need to test out Google assistant as I don't use it but "OK Google" might not work at all due to Hivoice.
I'll update this thread to reflect more facts.
I just used the browser to look up "Google play store" and it gave me an option to download/update it, I've never opened the app gallery and everything works fine ??
I do the same? thanks

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for the suggestion above. I have legit fried my tiny brain on all aspects of getting google play to activate/update install what have you.
My location in the App Store ALREADY says China - and I am still unable to open or update the Google Play Store.
Any other suggestions? I am also unable to create a Huawei ID for the phone, it keeps saying "Restricted" and won't let me. Any work-arounds for this?
