At my work there are Vending Machines with NFC Readers. They are/were enabled for paypass and Google wallet worked great on them. Recently I noticed that they must have been updated because the LCD readout says "Tap ISIS Mobile Wallet here".
The reader still has the paypass logo on it but since being updated to accept ISIS, Google Wallet doesnt even detect the reader anymore.
Has anybody else experienced this or anything similar? If a vendor decides to accept ISIS can they no longer accept paypass and thus no Google wallet?
Oh man, the same thing happened at my work! The vending machines worked fine with GWallet. Then, they started rejecting my cards through GWallet while still accepting the physical card. Now, they show that same "isis wallet" message, and tapping won't even bring up GWallet. So frustrating! I might call the company that rents out the vending machines...

Glad im not the only one.
Glad I'm not the only one to experience this. I still have to wonder though if a physical pay pass card would read and how that differs from the emulated card via GWallet.

I'm kinda in a daze from losing my Nexus S last night. The hangover is probably contributing to said daze. I don't have one of those security apps installed. I must have forgotten to restore it when I flashed a new ROM. My inner child is on my inner floor bawling his eyes out at the moment.
Anyway, my question is, what can I do to ensure minimal loss of my privacy. I have already changed all my passwords. Does this automatically unsync my account on the phone? I mean, will the phone ask whoever has it to re-enter the new password? What else am I forgetting? What else can I do?
Would appreciate it if "You should have"s are avoided. Thanks!
I know for sure that if you have changed your Google/Gmail Password, that the phone will prompt for a new one. As far as 'unsyncing' I do not know. I didn't check to see if my contacts/emails/calendar etc were removed when I changed the password and the phone prompted for a new one.
I will change my password again, see what happens and let you know.
*****EDIT*****
I changed my password for my phone, I got a notification about a sign in error, that prompted for a password. The dialing functions still worked as normal, any emails that you had cached were also visibile as well as the calendar. I rebooted without updating the password and could still call out as normal, but when I tried to access the Gmail app, it tried to sync the inbox, but prompted for a password right away.
I don't have any apps installed with other sensitive information, but I would imagine those would function as normal.
Hope this helps.
You could try lookout mobile security "plan b" will help find it.

Hmm sorry to hear that dude, i would probably be bawling on the floor too!
Although... i probably will install one of those security apps now...
Thanks for your help, guys.
Even if you don't change password but someone change sim card, android will require reenter password for sync

I don't know if Plan B would work seeing as how his Google Account is tied to the market account. Because he changed his password and the phone lost connection with the Google account, I don't believe remote installs will work, but I could be wrong.

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. I picked up a new Nexus S(not SAMOLED unfortunately) and synced it up and everything. Finally got to a PC and looked up my Market Account. It listed both phones under devices and I could go all the way to installing it on both phones. It located my current phone.
Unfortunately, I blocked my SIM card prematurely(did not know about Plan B), so, I can't send out the locate SMS. But, I figure whoever has it has probably removed the SIM card, or does not know how to charge it if the battery is dead or is using a SIM on it without a data connection. So, no data connection means no app on the phone. I haven't received an email from Plan B for the lost phone.
Why is the phone is still linked to my market account? I can see that the carrier has been changed which means a new SIM.
For now I'm just satisfying myself by installing inane and useless apps on the phone. HAHA! I hope it works and the app installation is going through. I've pretty much lost hope of finding it.
Got the OTA today, and since Wallet's tap to pay was one of the main draws of KitKat for me, I gave it a shot. I was at a Home Depot, input pin, selected the card I wanted to use within the app, tapped the device... then the cashier gets a message on their screen saying "Tap and pay not allowed". I tried again after selecting a different card in the app, but got the same result. I know it should work at this store, since the same process works fine when I use Wallet on my Nexus 7. Do I maybe need to install the apk from the Nexus 5 that's floating around out there? Anyone else have the same issue, or maybe no issues?
Edit:
Tried it again the next day and got the same result, until I used a regular register. I had been trying it at the self checkout yesterday, but it seems for whatever reason, the SCO doesn't like tap and pay! Worked fine at the regular cash register. I'll leave this post here, in case it's useful to anyone else later on.
I have been using Google wallet for the last 6 months or so and have a savings account at my bank linked to it. In the past transferring money from the bank account to Google was almost instantaneous, I would always get a confirmation email within seconds and the funds would show as available in the wallet app right away. On Saturday I transferred a small amount to wallet but a hold was placed on it by Google until 6/13. I tried another transfer this morning and another hold until 6/17. Is anyone else seeing these kinds of holds from Google? Is this something new they are doing?
Hello, I know this post is old but I recently started having this same issue. Transfers were near instaneous, and after a returned transfer, all future transfers take a week or more to become available. Apparently it's some "security feature" Google implemented. Much more of an inconvenience. Were these features ever lifted for you?
Hello,
Is gpay working for you? Tried with gpay open - no reaction when holding near the bank terminal. Tried from home screen - the same. Previous devices like s9, note9 worked fine. Now I cannot find the reason

Turn on NFC?
Nfc is on, and it works, tried with bank card reading
Found out that other nfc apps are not working too. Seems that it is nfc problem with third party apps
I'm having an issue with google pay where it keeps telling me I moved the phone too fast. even though it hasn't moved. I haven't been able to get it working as of yet.
note 20 ultra google pay and nfc doesnt work
works for me. i have the N986U.
Same issue, tried everything. Hoping next OTA fixes it, otherwise I'm servicing the phone.
Has anyone here managed to fix a broken Google Pay on the N9860?
I contacted Google Pay support and they're saying the configuration appears ok but the terminals aren't communicating back to the phone. I have tried changing the secure element to all three options, removing and adding the cards again. This all worked on my previous Note 8 so it seems to be a problem with the N9860 and not my cards/banks.

Google Pay not working fix
Hi
If your Google pay isn't working try these 2 options:
1. Uninstall google pay and re-add the payment method (card) even if you already see the card is there
2. I think this is most probably issue:
When you go to NFC settings in your Samsungs settings not Google Pay app, you'll see "tap and pay",this option will be activated as your nfc is on,tap on the writting and on the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options, left is Payment and right is Others. Tap on "others" and you'll see 2 options: first is Nearby(tap 2 phones to transfer photos/data) and 2nd is Google Pay,make sure that is SELECTED.
Once I selected that option, Google Pay worked.
I contacted Google before, but their brilliant support team and account specialists couldn't figured it out

Another fix... None of the above worked for me and Google support couldn't help either.
I had my giffgaff SIM in slot 1, tried all sorts of stuff for weeks and nothing worked. Eventually I put an O2 SIM into slot 2 and added my cards, problem solved! After a successful transaction, I was then able to remove the O2 SIM and just leave the giffgaff one in and it still works.
I don't know if the problem was the giffgaff SIM, the slot it was in or something else but I honestly tried the above and so much more to no avail. If you're having issues, try swapping SIM slots or put a second SIM in.
I have two visa cards, it can be set up on google pay app.
But when I use Google pay in the shop, the card machine response "di~", but still on reading card screen.
The mobile pop up Google pay app with my card, but shows "No response" with a spinning circle.
I can confirm that, both my two cards are normal and work well in Xperia XZ1 Compact.
My Xperia 5 II nfc also works well. it can connect my sony headphone, camera and read card information using NFC Tools.
Does any one have the same issue?
Update: 10/25/2020
I have factory-reset the phone, and setup google pay before updated google apps,(Play Service, Google Pay), it seems that it start to working.
