Hi Folks,
I tried to s-off my One S S4 via Facepalm SOFF via the procedure below
Followed instructions to the letter, got error 92 and continued. Ran the 3 commands at the end, rebooted to bootloader and no dice, still S-on. Re ran the whole process and this time I got error 99, still no luck. Every subsequent attempt it went straight to error 99...
Relocked my bootloader by running "Fastboot oem lock" and reunlocked it via htc dev (this now generating the token after I had done SuperCID).
Re ran facepalm and received error 92 again, this time ran all 3 commands and upon reboot, success

After the flash of PJ4010000-OneS.zip I tried to get out of RUU mode to flash soffbin via "fastboot oem boot" and it took really a very long time like around 10 mins and I tried to forcefully restart my mobile by using the power button and later the screen completely went black. I was not able to get even into bootloader or recovery or even fastboot. It seems like the mobile itself is bricked. Please help me to get my mobile back up.

Have been able to load new ROMs without difficulty for last few months.
Yesterday, I tried to load CleanROM using CWM. Now, I am stuck on HTC screen. Can boot into screen with Bootloader, Recovery, etc options. However, unable to enter recovery (just reboots and stays on HTC Screen).
Background:
unlocked
CWM was (perhaps still is) installed, but can not get to it
S-on
Any ideas how to get my HOX running again?
Thanks in advance.

Don't use CWM, it's buggy on our device and isn't officially supported. Use TWRP instead. I would try just running an RUU from fastboot to get it back to stock and start over (you're going to have to relock using 'fastboot oem lock', you can unlock again using the same unlock token you used the first time after you run the RUU). Running an RUU will make you lose root, so just be aware of that. With the one-clicks in the dev forum it should be no problem to get root back though.

I have attempted to access my phone using Fastboot. when I connect the phone by usb, it says fatboot usb. However, I am unable to access the phone. I am not all that familiar with the fastbot stuff...perhaps I am doing something wrong. any suggestions?

cid is HTC__001
was on stock god knows which rom, left phone on overnight, woke up in the morning and phone was off. turned it on and it's stuck in bootloop. so i thought if i could root the phone, I could install a rom through CWM. unlocked the bootloader via htcdev, fastboot flashed CWM, tried booting into CWM and it just boot loops. i then ran out of the little amount of battery i had left, and couldn't charge the phone because of bootloop. so flashed stock recovery to get phone to charge. relocked the bootloader and tried flashing "RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed", flashed successfully but still bootloop. tried flashing an older version, RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.1_Radio_0.15.31501S.13_3_10.08.31501S.04L_release_250115_signed, didn't flash due to older hboot.
unlocked bootloader again and tried HTC One S AIO Kit by Hasoon, flashed CWM and still stuck in bootloop. flashed TWRP and also stuck in bootloop. running out of ideas here
at the moment, I still have access to bootloader. anyone have any ideas?
thanks in advance

thanks for replying so quick!
not really good with my terms. i'm guessing bootloader mode is vol dn + power?, yes i can get into that. and i can see device in fastboot aswell when i type "fastboot devices"
so simply your phone is not bricked mate, read the posts and you'll get to it very quickly.
Wish u luck

in fastboot, either reflash recovery or erase cache
thanks for the replies :good:
fastboot erase cache doesn't look like it did anything, still bootloops
i tried flashing the CWM recovery i had again via fastboot, didn't work, still bootloops when i try accessing recovery. grabbed the CWM and TWRP recovery images from HTC AIO kit, tried flashing them with fastboot, still nothing stuck in bootloop.
although once i did flash the recovery image, the htc logo screen changed in that there is now red writing underneath it:
"This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action", after a minute, the screen goes off for 5 seconds and comes back with standard htc logo and bootloops.
any other ideas? :crying:
thanks again.

Thats a little overkill IMO
You should be able to
fastboot flash recovery pathtoyourtwrprecovery.img
boot into recovery factory reset install a rom
reboot
and you should be ok

tried that many times, but i'll try again and write what happens
i've done fastboot oem lock, it says:
(bootloader) Lock successfully...
(bootloader) TZ_HTC_SVC_DISABLE ret = 534642040 (0x1FDDFD78)
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 0.942s
i'm guessing that's right because it's gone from "unlocked" to "relocked" in bootloader, including "security warning" added underneath it.
(erased the cache next using fastboot)
ran the RUU, completed successfully, no errors...phone rebooted, still bootloops
can still access bootloader
ran the RUU again, this time as administrator...completed successfully, no errors...phone rebooted, still bootloops
still have access to bootloader and working fastboot.
there must be some way to fix this

you are sooo right, if only i could access recovery, i know what to do
but the problem is, i can't...i've tried atleast 15 times if not more to flash as you said using fastboot, cwm twrp and stock recoveries, using many files (to rule out having a corrupted recovery img) and using the HTC AIO kit too to flash recovery, always bootloops
as i said, i tried to fastboot flash the recoveries provided with the HTC AIO kit, this also bootloops.
do you have any other ideas? i'd appreciate anything rather than using this as a paperweight lol
Okay so I have been running CM10 fine for months. But I got a notification about an OTA update to CM10.1 and decided to let it install... bad idea.
the install process failed somehow and then my phone was stuck at the HTC screen when booting. Booting into recovery wouldn't work because it would try to install the ROM but always fail. So I figured I could just flash my recovery and restore. So I download the newest TWRP and flasht he recovery. Once I get into TWRP I couldn't read the SDCARD or find any of my files. But if I use an adb shell I can see CM10.1 and Gapps for 4.2.2 So I tried restarting recovery a couple times but I could never get the recovery to see the files. I figured I would just relock the bootloader, run RUU, then start the rooting/unlocking process fresh as I have done in the past when I got into trouble. Only problem now is that I get error 155 when trying to run the RUU utility, and can't boot into recovery since I re-locked my bootloader. I can still use fastboot but that's it, HALP!
What ruu are you using? Error 155 usually means its the wrong ruu.

Do you have an AT&T phone? Or something else?
I was able to get the RUU to work last time, but when I try to unlock using the X_Factor root it doesn't actually unlock the bootloader. I've done this plenty of times before and followed the steps correctly. Any idea what's going on?

unlock yourself using "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
Right, just push your unlock token again. Once you unlock the first time, subsequent unlocks are a simple fastboot command.

I've been at the same issue myself.
Have tried using the toolkit and pushing manually. I can get to the screen where you choose yes/no to unlock, which I choose yes. Then the phone just shuts off. When I turn it back on, the factory reset is done but I'm still stuck at "RELOCKED". I've probably tried this 20 times tonight and do not know what I'm missing. My CID is still all 1s.
FYI, using 2.20 RUU (had a similar issue... CM10 nightly bricked phone completely so used 2.20 RUU to restore phone)
i sometimes have alot of problems getting token to stick. try booting into bootloader without phone plugged up to computer, once booted into bootloader plug in phone, then push the token.
I've found that you need to unplug and reboot your phone before pushing the token. When I do this, it always takes the first time.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
So I found that I was rebooting the phone myself when I shouldn't have during the unlock process. So I've got it unlocked now, and I can install recovery like TWRP or CWM but now I'm trying to get a ROM to load. I'm using the last Evita CM10 build but it always gets stuck on the booting screen. I think maybe I need an update.zip or need to use adb to get root from fastboot or recovery but I can't remember how and searching hasn't helped me yet...
I'm going to try to do a fastboot flash boot boot.img with the boot.img file from my CM10 zip file. Maybe that's what I was missing
I really should just be more patient before creating a thread. I got into CM10 then got S-OFF so now I'm on CM10.1
Hello,
I tried going back to stock but after flashing an RUU I downloaded, it gave me error 152. I no longer see the Bootloader but the HTC LOGO and four triangles around the 4 angles on phone start-up. I know I can't do the Fastboot recovery... Is there any other means I can use to re-flash the Bootloader/Recovery?
Thank you.

Try to pull battery out and put on, then <Volume_Down>+<Power> buttons and go to fastboot, Connect USB. Download the RUU you want (if you have SuperCID) and try to flash it via fastboot. I've tried this way several times, but never get the result like yours.
Today I unlocked my HOX using Hasoon2000's all in one kit. Unlocked the phone, super cid 1111111111, and rooted the phone with no problems. Once i got everything completed i attempted to install Viper XL rom onto the device through TWRP. The first time it froze during the process, so I rebooted and repeated the process. However, once i got it to work through TWRP, it started to boot up with the Viper XL boot screen and then suddenly turn off, and repeat itself. I can't get into boot loader and once plugged into my pc it simply makes the connect and disconnect sounds. Please any help at to unbrick this phone would be highly appreciated...
Have you tried flashing a different ROM?
If it's continually looping when trying to boot, hover your finger over the volume down button, then press and hold it as soon as the screen goes blank. Hopefully that'll get you into bootloader.

I can't. I'm stuck in a boot loop, where the device continuously reboots on it's own. Can't get to fastboot or the bootloader. Device isn't being found through the adb since it powers off before it can be recognized.

If the phone turns on, you can get into bootloader.
As soon as the HTC screen comes back on press and hold power until the screen goes black. When the screen goes black, let go of power and press and hold volume down until the bootloader comes up.

I actually did attempt searching through the forums, but i could not find a thread that actually helped me in my current predicament.
I am currently still S- ON, my firmware was the latest 3.18, the version of TWRP used was 2.5.0. and yes the phone still turns on, however it's doing it automatically by itself into a constant bootloop from the HTC white screen to the Viper XL boot animation.

It says fast boot on the phone in bootloader. if i reboot in fastboot, it just sends me to my bootloop. Man, i wish i would've just stopped i got this thing rooted.
While 2.3.5 of TWRP i reinstalled the Viper XL on my sd card, for the fourth time. Out of desperateness. But it actually booted up completely. Seems as if everything is working as well. Thanks man for everything.
