hey,
everything worked fine for a couple of hours, but now the icon is not filled (only the outlines are visible), there's no "Say, Ok Google" text anymore and well, it's not working either.
I have set US english as language and checked the hotword usage.
I also tried to play around with language and input methods but nothing let to a functioning usage again.
Help?

My google now hot work detection stopped work for some reason, even tho I have hot work enabled thru google now and the language is English (US). You can see my google voice mic in the google search bar is hollow. Anyone know a fix for it? I tried rebooting the phone and it didn't help.

Scroll over to Google Now and head to settings and look inside the Voice category.
See if Hotword Detection is on or not. If not, turn it on and that should do the trick!
If it IS on though, try giving it a toggle.
it is checked. I gave it a toggle it still doesn't work...
It likes to stop working for me too.
I found that putting in headphones tends to disable the hotword.
Try plugging in headphones, unplugging them, then screen off, and screen on.
I found the problem. It was pushbullet. Whenever I have that installed it disabled my always listening hot word detection. Not sure why.

Need some help guys.. I switched from Dalvik to ART for the first time last night, and now the "OK Google" option doesnt work. It used to show up on the home screen in search bar, but not anymore. I've tried everything - language is already English (US), ok google option is checked in settings - search - voice search.
I've tried going back to Dalvik and it doesnt show up there either. I looked up online and apparently if the mic on the google search bar is full, it means ok google is active. In my case, it is full, but ok google just does not work.
Can someone please help? Is this unique to my phone or anyone else faced this issue recently? I couldnt find anything in the forums about this.
Thanks in advance!
Did you try saying "OK Google"?

say "ok google" slowly
Go into google now, then go to the menu button at the bottom , then go to voice, then either turn hot word detection on or off depending what it was on. Then restart the device, then turn it back on or off. Finally turn it back on again. This worked for me. Just a quick recalibration of the setting
I don't know why for some reason 'ok google' is not working in my nexus 5. it was working fine before

Have you got any other voice activation apps installed? I gave "Utter" a quick try, but even though it has support for OK Google hotword detection, I found Utter did end up killing it on occasion, so I got rid of it

Can you think of what you might have installed when it was working fine until it stopped?
Easy street scenario is to try try and clear the cache and data if that doesn't work, factory reset before we get too rambunctious.
Can I give my current app list. So that it could be easy to troubleshoot. These are my currently running apps.
Notification toggle, facebook, applock, cover, wechat, whatsapp ,exdialor, dashclock widget, Google services, glance, light manager, app launcher for dash clock, Google keyboard.

I think it would be best to try and clear the cache and data from the Google experience launcher. Settings---> apps----> find launcher it is blue with a house icon in the middle.
It doesn't look like any of those apps could cause any conflict.

it didn't have any cache, it says total 16kb and cache is 0.00B
Then you will most likely have to do a factory reset I cannot think of anything else.
I just thought that maybe you change one of the hotwords and try that and see if it works, long shot but worth a try,

I thought you could change words to say to make google activate but I could be wrong. If it's still not working factory reset.
If you are using different launcher, try to go back and use google launcher.

Hey, whenever i say ok google from my homescreen nothing happens.
Language is set to english us and hotword detection is on but still it doesnt work ( tried restarting the device also )
Mic is filled and white .
Any help ?
It didnt work work for me either, I had to change the whole system language to English(US), not just Google Now.
Change to English UK and give it a try? Works fine for me
Try "Ok Google Now", recently mine and other devices in my household changed and it will not recognize it unless we use that phrase.

did you try the phrase "ok google now"?
Go to Settings/ Apps/ then slide to the All Tab and search for " Google Search app" open it and clear its data. It will set your launcher to default setup and then check to see if it works.

@FourPointedFreak and I were wondering if you have tried saying "OK Google Now".
That's very strange. What's your phone setup? rom, kernel, rooted, etc
Stock rom , non rooted
I was thinking if there is any app that i hv installed might be conflicting with hotword detection
This sucks btw

He apparently can't read what we're requesting lol
I am pretty sure using the correct phrase will help. It listens for the "oh" sound in Ok and the "ow" of Now.
@FourPointedFreak
"OK Google now" also not working , I also tried that
Mine works with anything close to 'OK Google'. You can say 'OK Noodle', 'Ok Poodle', heck, you can even just make the G sound after OK and it works.
Lol mine is giving me headache, and i look dumb on keep saying ok Google in front of my family and den nothing happens

You do have Google Now enabled, right? If there is no "Say Ok Google" on the search bar then you won't get an answer.
Google now is enabled
Just format and restore to stock ROM. Easiest and simplest solution to all known problems.?
My wife and I both have a pixel 3 and there are numbers times when the assistant is not triggered by saying "ok Google" or "hey Google" while the screen is off. There have even been a few times when it won't respond when the screen is on. Does anyone else have this issue?
And yes, we have retrained the voice recognition.
Yes I've had the same issue. Not sure what helped in the end. Maybe a phone restart? or reinstalling the google search app?

Personnaly I've noticed I have to yell the word in order for the phone to wake up. I first thought it was wrongly configurated and wiped the app data several time, until I figured the pixel was a bit deaf..

I have noticed that Google Assistant been buggy during last few days. Clearing storage and cache does help but even when its back working sometimes it has issues making the registered action. For, example, setting alarm/timer gets registered (the text appears in google assistant but google assistant is sometimes slow to read the registered command + even after google assistant repeats the command and says its done the actual action does not following, meaning the alarm/timer is not set and only on second try it gets through. Never had similar issues before. Not sure if its google app or December update, but I did not have any issues before.
No issues with things like Weather reports and reminders though..

This kept happening to me last week. My phone was on battery saver which did not turn off automatically after charging. Had to toggle the battery saver and do a restart to have OK Google work somewhat reliably.

I thought this was just a glitch, but my wife's old phone did this right before we upgraded to the Pixel 3. She burned the food in the oven because the timer didn't get set even though the assistant confirmed the command.
Maybe we should start saying please and thank you before the machines rise against us.
