So I'm sure this question will be regarded as heresy, but here it goes...
Is there a way to run Jellybean on my new Nexus 5?
I ask this as the one app my company requires for email is not yet supported on KK. I cannot switch to this phone until I can do that, so my new N5 is sitting in a drawer now.

I'm sure there is a way but unfortunately will never be done. To much time and effort to be moving backwards. Sorry bud

That's what I figured, but who knows.

Just don't hold your breath.

What did you say? I passed out from a lack of oxygen.

There might be other ways to get the email. If the app you are using is because of some type of MDM your company uses and they also support OWA, there are a number of OWA clients that will work and will still get your email (just via pull rather than push - so there could me a couple minute delay on emails).
... seriously?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
When you say it's not supported, do you mean it won't even install on 4.4? Or it crashes when you try to run it?
It crashes when I run it.
We do support OWA,. What client so you recommend?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I use touchdown which is probably the best of the email apps. Supposedly it works with owa, i think it does so through the exchange 2003 and 2007 settings. That said, I've not tried it myself through those because it detects my activesync. Maybe others or nitro software can answer definitively.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I've had no luck getting owa to work through a client today. I think they've locked it down.
I found a thread where Citrix responded that they should have an update next week to fix this anyway.

Never mind. Figured out a way.

Did you get this running?
I managed to find an apk and the file that goes with it, installed, but when it comes to the location part on the intro it just freezes on me

Yeah. It runs fine. I really like it.
Did you get version 1.01? That's the updated app.

Yeah I'm running the 1.0.1 version. Always crashes when it asks about location. Could you link me to the one you installed, please?

Thanks, that's the one I've been using. Always crashes when it asks about location I get to this screen and it just freezes with the background music still playing </3

Works for me. What other apps do you have running? Could be a conflict.

Closed everything and cleared with android task killer, still crashing there.
*sigh*

I don't know. I'm at a loss. All that's left is to email the developer. I did that when it stalled at black screen in the first version. [email protected].

Seem to be having problems with the xda app whenever i try to start it up. Just get the spinning circle. End up having to come out if app and restart it before it ever loads. I've been flicking on android central app every now and then and it loads instantly with no issues.
Could this have anything to do with me being on the art runtime? Handset is stock unrooted other than art .
Thanks

No problem with XDA premium app.
Do not use ART...

I have problems with the XDA Premium app as well. Sometimes it won't load, sometimes certain threads won't load. Not sure what's causing it, I had similar problems on my Nexus 4.
I think the xda has been having intermittent issues with the tapatalk plug-in over the last week or so.
good day.
ART is experimental so that's why it's only a developer option right now. It's only natural for it to have issues so if you want a stable rom don't use it because all app devs just got onto developing for it. Tapatalk has been having a lot of issues for the past about 2 weeks. This is probably what you are referring to so just stand by while tapatalk and xda resolve the issue. It's become even more annoying these past few days.
im lucky to be able to connect to xda with tapatalk anymore. disabling art has improved that, thanks

slow loading for me at times, somethings up
The XDA app is Tapatalk. And it does occasionally have issues. Wiping the data for it seems to help.

I have this problem with the xda app with all my devices. It has nothing to do with ART, as the issues were present on 4.3.
The app just needs to be fixed. Plain and simple.

My issue is that it will jump a couple threads up when it loads more. Really annoying. Randomly crashes as well. I have it on my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, both using art. The nexus 7 has none of these problems.

I'm on a replacement device (not using art ) and still same problem.

Hi guys, on my Nexus 5 Okay Google works all the time, except for the fact I've never seen it say to say Okay Google on the widget. Should I worry or it might be better, so everyone will not know to always mess with my device and I? I also know I have the latest Google Now.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
And yes the mic is filled in
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I'm not 100% sure but I THINK that it stops saying that on the widget after you've used the "OK Google" command for the first time. Mine had that same message at first but it vanished after I actually used it
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Oh true maybe, I don't really remember seeing it. Maybe I was too excited and used it right away ?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Yeah I was wondering about it too lol for some reason I enjoyed having the little animated text reminder on the widget
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes a little reminder once in awhile would not hurt

Is there anything out there that allows the sending of decent sized videos to each other over the Internet (wifi)?

FTP

I was kinda hoping for something more like a messenger app capable of doing it as my mum wants to be able to use it and she's about as computer literate as a blind fish
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Hmmm. Good point. I've not seen anything else myself. Im sure there will be options on play. Hopefully someone can recommend
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

This probably is the best option since all she'll have to do is click the link.

I did, and then downloaded the smartphone companion app for my note 3 and it appears to only support the Pebble and Sony watches. Am I nuts or did they pull the trigger on the gear 2 release before their main app supported it?

You download ed the wrong version. Dl the phone version from samsung app store.

I downloaded today and think it is promising. I tried with my outlook. Com first. No luck. Switched to my gmail and Viola. I tried one reply and it went out but I didn't receive it. Also I can't figure out what the fetch frequency is. Of his to adjust it. I will keep playing with it.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
I did also. But, I couldn't really get anything push to Gear 2? I got one text out of many SMSs and emails I received since I installed this app. It doesn't seems to work, unless I didn't do it right. Need to look at it a little bit more, otherwise I think it is a waste of my $1.
My initial impression is that it is overly ambitious. I am going to tell it nothing about myself and it is going to essentially run my day?
