Ever since I got my Nexus 5 (and flashed a 4.4 rom on my Nexus 7), my Google Now no longer tracks packages, even though I have several packages in transit with tracking numbers available. Has anybody else noticed this with their own Google Now? I'm trying to see if it's an account issue, 4.4 issue, or something else entirely.

So it looks like it might be a problem internal to Google? Or did you have a 4.4 rom running on your N4?

stock on N4, im thinking it's on google side. but i've always had sporadic issues where tracking cards dont show up
It did not track my Google Play email for my N5 but it tracks all my Amazon Prime stuff. Its strange, seems like they would make sure their Play Store emails are formatted correctly for Now to pick up.

Do you have your N5 now? Does it show Amazon packages in your Google Now? I'm trying to find out the source of the problem, since I have a bunch of packages coming, and one email directly from UPS with tracking numbers in them, and nothing at all in Now. This is both on my N5 and my N7.
How do you guys activate that? Seems so cool

Yes I have the N5 now, and yes it tracks my Amazon packages just fine (only through UPS, USPS and FedEx).

I noticed recently that my Amazon tracking info wasn't appearing in Google Now on my Galaxy Note II.... I wonder if there's an issue on Google's end.
As for my Google Play Nexus 5 order, I've read elsewhere that Google Now doesn't detect tracking info for Google Play orders. Kind of silly.

Weird, considering some people can see tracking information and others can't. What does your customization page look like? I've attached mine as a comparison.
Edit: I see your Now page and find it strange that I used to get cards like that, but I (and other people in this thread) have recently not received cards like this. What has changed? Obviously it's not the device, and if it's on Google's side, why does it work for you and not for us? Is it an app setting somewhere that I've missed?

So it has nothing to do with the customization page... this is bizarre. I'm sitting here with an Amazon email and two UPS My Choice emails with tracking numbers, and there's nothing. I can't see any consistency here. It simply must be on Google's side and for random people's accounts. Maybe I can do nothing but wait until Google fixes whatever is causing the problem, if they even know it exists.
It stopped tracking for me on my Optimus G a while back. It seems like others have had the same issues and thought it had to do with one of the updates to Google search. Others have thought the issue was that Gmail updated with the different categories for emails and tracking info routes to Updates rather than Inbox causing Google now cards not to pick up the tracking info. Sadly I have not found a solution yet.

This makes less sense though, considering that anyone with a Nexus 5 will have the same versions of Search, Gmail, and all other software on it. We're ordering from the same place (Google Play, Amazon, shipped via FedEx, UPS, etc.). Thus, the only logical conclusion is that there's no logical conclusion yet, unless I'm missing something.
I am not getting them either. I didn't even get the amazon tracking on my S3 for the case. I now have a wireless charger shipping from NewEgg and still nothing.
Glad I found this thread. It's been driving me nuts not to see my Amazon shipments. If I ask Google now about my orders they show up but not automatically. It seems like this and the fact that I can't search specific apps like imdb, Evernote make Google now less useful.

Glad I found this too, even though I'm using an N4. Wasn't sure what was wrong. I'm using an N4 with 4.4 installed, and no longer have shipment tracking cards, even though I have 2 e-mails sitting in my inbox with UPS tracking info. Hopefully this can be fixed.
I've literally never received tracking information across my GNex/Note II/Nexus 7 (2012/2013 both)/Nexus 10/Nexus 5.
I never really cared, however.
I've been looking around and this might actually be Amazon. I've noticed recently that they've stopped including tracking numbers in their emails, making you go to their website instead.

I posted this as a reply to another thread which said the VPN method stopped working. Hope it works for you! Feel free to ask questions. Orbot never worked for me, which is why this method might be helpful for others as well.
Also, Market Access app mentioned here requires root! Not absolutely sure that part of the guide is needed though. Try skipping it and see what happens.
This is not that convenient since it requires you to keep jumping between the Amazon website and the appstore app. Well you can probably do both from your phone though but it might be easier if you were on the computer so you won't have to keep switching between the Amazon site on your phone's web browser, and the appstore app.
Edit: I mentioned that I used my Philippine address, but checking the emails statements from Amazon, it still indicates my US billing address (I happen to have one, but it was not the one associated to my one-click settings...Even when I deleted the address to check, it still keeps showing that same billing address on new orders..so if it doesn't work with your normal address, just find a random US address online )

Angry Birds Rio for Android, exclusive to the Amazon Android appstore is FREE for today only to commemorate the Amazon Appstore's launch. So technically not yet considered as warez. It's also worth mentioning that they're giving away 1 paid app a day.
EDIT: I guess the day is over for them, there's another new app that's free for today (World Series Online Poker: Holde'm Legend) but you can still check if you can get Angry Birds Rio...it still says free on my Appstore.
EDIT2: I actually think this is a loophole in their system. So it might get fixed soon!
Anyway, there's a simpler way. I have it, I'm from the Philippines, and I've played through the first 10 or so rounds with no signs of being kicked out or anything. Just needed a break...
Anyhow, here's what I did. I'm not sure exactly what combination of actions worked so I'll just say everything here. Make sure your phone's on wifi or whatever.
1. (PHONE) Get the Market Access app (which allows me to buy from the Android Market when normally app purchases are not allowed for my region) - just Google Android Market Access..it should be one of the first links. It's free. Download and install it on your phone.
EDIT: Market Access app here: http://amip.tools-for.net/wiki/android/marketaccess
2. (PHONE) Set Market Access to emulate the T-Mobile USA sim (does not effect anything, no worries..you can still text and call etc.)
3. (COMPUTER) Download the Amazon Appstore app via the Amazon website's Appstore page. You have to give your e-mail address.
Amazon Appstore page: http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b/ref=sa_menu_adr_app1?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011

4. (COMPUTER) Amazon will send you the download link. You can download it via your phone or to your computer then just transfer it over. I did the latter.
5. (PHONE) Install the Amazon Appstore App with the apk you just downloaded
6. (COMPUTER) If you don't have an Amazon account yet, sign up for one and attach a credit card and billing/shipping address to it (NOT SURE if this is needed, I just happen to already have those things..but you do need an Amazon account~)
7. (PHONE) Navigate to the free app you're trying to get. Try to download it and you'll be told that you need to enable One-Click...Just continue to activate it (it will open up Amazon's website on your phone's web browser) you'll be told to log-in to Amazon, then select the payment method (credit card you linked to Amazon) as well as the billing/shipping address (I just used my Philippine address) after that you would have already enabled One-Click.
8. (COMPUTER) Sign in to Amazon and then navigate to the app you want from the Amazon Appstore WEBSITE. If you try to grab the app you want from the Amazon Appstore app on your phone you'll keep getting the not available in your region blah message.
9. (COMPUTER) Now once you're in the page of the app you want, you should see in the right side a button that says "Get Now with 1-Click" and underneath that you should see the model of your phone displayed (which confirms your phone is now linked to the Amazon appstore)
10. (COMPUTER) You will be taken to the next page saying you now own that particular app and to check the Amazon Appstore app on your phone for the download. You would have also received an e-mail form Amazon confirming your order.
11. (PHONE) On the Appstore app, press the menu button (for my SGS, I dunno what it's called in other phones) then select "My Apps" it will say "Checking for new apps" or something on the bottom and after a few seconds you should now see your app being downloaded! After the download finishes, it will take you to the install prompt as with normal side-loaded apk installs where you confirm you want to install.
Tada! You can get apps from the Amazon Appstore from anywhere! I haven't tried it with paid apps. But I've already downloaded WSOP and Angry Birds Rio and successfully installed both and have gotten to play both with no problems.
Sorry I don't have screens for everything since I already went through the enabling process which is a one time only thing~
ENJOY!

This particular guide didn't work for me. Followed every single step, but I still get the country message on my phone and also on my PC.
I've even tried browsing the Amazon Appstore on my PC through a VPN on the United States, but I still got the same country error.
Tried reinstalling the Amazon Appstore app, also adding an US card to my Amazon account, nothing.
Either they fixed the hole, or I am doing something wrong.

why not have a try with app Market Unlocker on the phone? Unlike market enabler, it can set fake provider and proxy for your Android Market and Amazon appstore, which looks like you're visiting from US (IP address). So you will be able to check out paid apps.
Search and check out "Market Unlocker" in Android Market
Have not followed the guide.
But US VPN does work if you already have billing address and One Click setting.
its not working anymore
I think the amazon appstore has been updated to detect your address (using your wifi connection) so any method I have tried is not working anymore.
I have seen a version of the MP3 player patched so it won't do that, and it actually works, maybe patching the appstore would work to make it work again.

Not true. I just registered recently without any proxies. You need a US number, address and a credit card. I used an amex card which was accepted
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Any update on this matter?
I added an american card and address at amazon.com and I activated also the 1click.
But I still get from amazon.com the message for the of geographical restrictions.
I tried also through proxy to login, but the page needs cookies and can't continue.
Google says this issue is this: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/4430885
And there's pretty much nothing we or they can do but watch that page for updates.
My error 403 issue isn't like others that I have found from searching, allow me to explain...
I had two accounts on my device. One of the accounts had paid apps.
I have since abandoned that account, and installed numerous new ROMs on my phone, using only the other account as my now primary account
Now, the second account seems to think it has access to the paid apps that the other account purchased.
This means I can not download them, because it throws error 403 at me. Instead of showing "Purchase" as it should, it shows "Install".
This is even visible when I access the Play Store website from my computer, using only the second account.

And please, do not suggest clearing my play store cache and all that crap, I have tried everything including going back to the stock firmware. The issue exists with my account on Googles end, but I have been back and forth emailing them for 3 weeks now, and it is like talking to a brick wall.
In short, what the frack can I do about this?
Please, if anyone has any real ideas or solutions to this I would be eternally greatful. I really don't want to have to make a whole new google account.
I have the exact same problem... I also have 2 accounts and one has paid apps. I can't seem to download the paid apps but I could download anything else

i have the same problem...two accounts, one with paid apps, cannot update the paid ones...
found this "solution": push the updates to the phone using the google-account of your computer (google - play - apps - myapps...)
only thing i found up to now that works...
Firstly, some problem for this can be done by checking Google Talk is already signed in or not.. ( I have tried)
Make sure your device is logged into Google Talk by following these steps:
1. Go to your device's app launcher, and press the Talk app.
2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.
3. Launch Talk again to sign in.

Secondly, If the error still occurred, here's a brief explanation directly from Play Store:
Getting an error message on my device when downloading
There are a few reasons you may be getting a download error for only one app (or for a few select apps):
1. If the app in question is a paid app, sign in to wallet.google.com/manage to confirm that the purchase was successful. "Error 405"
usually indicates that the download failed because payment did not go through.
2. Check the size of the app - if it's larger than 25M, it may be too large for your device's cache partition. Even if you have enough space
free on your device, the cache partition may be preventing you from downloading large apps.
3. If you're getting "Error: Insufficient space," ensure that after downloading the app, you'll have at least 20M of internal storage space
free. If not, you may need to uninstall apps to free up space.
"Error: 495" usually indicates that there's an issue with your connection. Usually it's temporary, but if it persists, please let us know.

Finally, if the error still occurred after those two steps, directly contact Play Store Help via Mail conversation, it can be a long talk since they also 'super busy', you may be replied by google for several hours or even days. But they definitely helpful (My own Experience). :highfive:
IMPORTANT!
Note that you haven't made any change directly to your Market app in your system, because basically it disturb other gapps and may give you frustrating errors ( again, my own experience )

I'm getting the error on the play store website on my computer - as I said, it thinks my account has purchased these apps when it has not - I only have the option to Install them, and when I try, it gives the error in the screenshots in my first post.
I've had to change from some paid apps like titanium backup pro to the ROM Toolbox as an alternative, but I really need Swiftkey fixed.

Same issue here
I've got the exact same issue on my account also. Google Play support is being no help at all. I've had a ticket open with them for 3 weeks now with 2 emails sent that whole time. I sent them a logcat today to see if they can figure out what is going on. If you get anywhere please post here so we can get this sorted out. It's blocked some of my "must-have" apps so I'm pretty upset about this.

So here's what I found out today after loading a new rom and playing around. I have been adding both of my google accounts when I first setup the new phone. When I do this, I get the 403 error on certain apps. What I ended up doing is clearing all accounts off the phone. Then loaded my original gmail account only. This is the account I originally bought all these apps from. I went ahead and turned off all sync options but I don't think this matters. With only that account setup on the phone, I was able to download and install all the apps. I then loaded my new account and synced everything fine.

Nope. The google support person I have been back and forth with this problem for weeks finally told me they would get back to me and have yet to do so. I think I'll send them another reply and ask what is happening with my issue.
It simply seems that they refuse to admit that the bug exists with my actual account and has nothing to do with my phone or anything. The fact that the bug exists on their play store website, accesssed from my computer, should be evidence enough (I even sent the requested screenshots).
So annoying. I can't update swiftkey or any other paid apps because of this.
Update:
I emailed again and asked for a progress report on my issue, and was told that it is a known issue and this is it: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/4430885
And there is nothing they can do, and that I should just keep an eye on that page for updates...
Hi Sunwind,
Your case is still currently under review by the Tier 3 team. I'm not sure how much longer it will be, and I do appreciate your patience thus far.
In the meantime, have you currently tried downloading Swiftkeys application from the Webstore, rather than from your device? You can ititiate the app to install on your device from your computer by signing into play.google.com with your account, navigating to my apps and initiating it to download that way.
I know it won't currently fix the error 403 code, but it might be a temporary work around it.
Thank you so much for you patience.
Sincerely,
Abigail

Guys, here's what I have found out and seems to have fixed this issue for me. When you open the Play Store on your phone it automagically logs you into your google account. What I didn't know is that you can switch logins to your other google account from within the app.
From the main Play Store screen, touch the Play Store menu button at the top left. This is where it says Play Store with an icon and three lines to the left of it. In the menu that pops up, it will show your username (email address) at the top. To the right of your username is a divider line with a small down arrow to the right.
If you click that down arrow it will show you your different accounts set up and you are able to select your other accounts.
What I did was change my account to my old one, and then I was able to download the apps fine. This has worked for every app that I was getting the 403 error on. Try to change accounts there and see if that doesn't fix your issue also.

Yes, of course that 'fixes' it, because you are using the account that has access to the apps. This doesn't fix the problem with another account thinking it has access to paid apps from a previous account, when the previous account is no longer in use/signed in to the phone/etc. This is just a 'work-around' in order to get apps you previously paid for.

Right. This will get the apps you've already purchased installed on your phone. I though that was the problem you were looking for a solution to.
I have the same problem with paid apps with my multiple google accounts but that was not my main concern. The problem was when it does not allow me to install apps that I have purchased. And realistically until google allows you to transfer apps to different accounts, I will have to keep my old account active. The only other option is to re-buy all my apps on the new account which I am not willing to do.

I'm still getting this issue. https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/4430885
I've wiped my phone a few times since last post and still used only the one account, but it still thinks it has access to apps that it doesn't.
This error has been driving me insane for months and there is no proper fix.
Problem:
I get an error 403 when downloading purchased apps off the play store.
Possible Cause:
I was using account A with my phone for years. I decided to get a new account and slowl migrate my stuff over.
I first added account B to my phone and used it for emails only, keeping account A for play store and youtube.
Eventually, I moved all my stuff over and used account B full time. But I noticed when trying to download purchased items, I would get the error.
It seems to me that account A "bled" over into B. So B thinks it has purchased apps when it was A.
Steps to rectify issue:
I've done the usual, clearing caches, removing/re-adding accounts. I know it's not the phone because I've had 3 different phones since this happened. When I got my HTC One, I added account B out the box and the error still happened.
I've had to contact Google support with my issue. I have also had to jump through their hoops in regards to checking things out, but I said to them, if they want to reset account B so it shows I have bought nothing, I don't mind. At least it would work and I don't mind supporting the devs again.
Currently it has been 3 months since contacting Google and the last update was on the 1st of Jan was:
Thanks for writing back and for providing details about the issue you’re having on Google Play. We really appreciate you taking the time to report this - based on the information you sent along, it appears you’re experiencing issue #11112915 from our known issues page, which is characterized by:
- Errors during the download of paid apps from the Play Store
- Download issues occurring with paid apps that were never purchased on Play Store or purchased using the Google Account exhibiting issues
- Download issues occurring on a rooted device or with an account that was previously used on a rooted device
We’re currently investigating a more permanent solution, but in the meantime you can try using a new Google Account with your device.

Yeah, I'm not going to make a new account for this issue, sorry Google.
Link to support ticket here.
Also, checking your wallet here, confirms my issue. Doggcatcher, which Play Store says I have purchased, I have not. For me, this isn't a phone issue. Clearing settings will do nothing. The issue is 100% Google, at least for me.
Nothing I can do now but wait for Google to sort it out.
Removing the account and re-adding didn't help me; but installing from the desktop Play store helped.
Doubt I'll be able to update from the phone, but hopefully the website will be able to do it.
I recently received a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III with android 4.4.2 from a friend, but it doesn't have Google play services, nor does it have Google play installed. I tried a factory reset but that didn't work and I found out you need a specific Google play services app or it wont work. The usb port is also broken so I cant hook it up to a computer. Please help.

I have several play services apk files but I'm not on the locked bootloader. Unsure if it will work, I know where to find versions if your requesting a specific one
And that's very odd that it doesn't have play installed. Most come pre installed especially on a verizon rom
From my CM11 S3
He said he rooted it before and accidentally uninstalled Google play services and that he couldn't find the right one to reinstall either, so that's why it doesn't have it on there. Also, I need the right apk for my phone because I read that you need the one with a specific three number ending in the app version, but I don't know what mine is because my phone doesn't have the app so I can't check the last three numbers and I have tried a couple apks before but they didn't work

If someone that has a Verizon Galaxy s III running android 4.4.2 Kitkat could post a screenshot of the app info of Google play services, or just post the full version number from the app info under application manager, I would probably be able to find the right apk.
I have another S3 here at my house, my gfs S3 but she has it with her, I could get that if you can wait. Your call
From my CM11 S3
I am able to wait. It's not like I'll die if I don't have google play services.

I may be wrong, but if you get the play store installed won't it download and install play services? Is been awhile since I've had to mess with it.

I haven't tried installing google play store before trying to install services. Maybe it does download and install services, I'll have to try it. Thanks for the screenshot as well.
So I installed google play store 5.0.38, and when I open it the screen to either login in or create an account appears and I put in my info and hit sign in but a message appears (in attached screen shot) and i cant sign in but i can sign in to google through my browse, and I've tried my neighbors internet (with his consent) just to check its not just mine, but it doesnt work on my neighbors either. Any ideas?

Hi everyone,
So although that I had made attempts to successfully install gms without any errors, I did not fully succeed in any of the guides. My firmware was 114 or 117 (don't remember now) and I tried several times with this firmware, as well as with 121 firmware (the only update I had).
So far, Google photos, Google maps, Google drive, YouTube, whatsapp, all work, however I am getting the notification "device is not play protect certified" when I open them (attached).
NEVERTHELESS, I do note foll:
- whatsapp backup successfully restored from Google drive, - Google photos sync and backup successfully between devices
- maps work (haven't actually navigated, but seems that everything is calculated properly).
-Contacts have synced with my Google contacts
-Gmail app works, but whenever I launch the app I get a banner saying "Google is having trouble with play services. Please try again", however I can see behind the banner that all new mails are there, but if i click the compose msg button, then I keep getting the error and cannot proceed.
-What I noticed though is that no any app currently installed on my p20 pro has been restored from play store on the p40 pro.
-i have NO notifications from Google apps
-Google search app works only for searching, I have no cards displayed on Google feed and it shows that I am not signed in, although all other Google apps have me properly signed in.
-Google Home does not work, since it does not allow me to sign in.
-Youtube works normally without any errors, actually I am also receiving notifications of newly uploaded videos :/
What the heck is going on? How come they partly work since my device is not certified and I am getting the notification page in all Google apps when they first launch?

IMO you should factory reset the phone and try another method for installing GMS until you find one that works for you. I tried a few and this way I was able to made it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83303057&postcount=262
It seems it is not possible to have both notifications and play store working together, so you use Icebox to freeze Google Play after restoring your purchased in order to have notifications. Then use a replacement store like Aurora.
Good luck and don't give up ?
I have Google installed, with Google Play and notifications active (I don't know if that metod still works)

A friend had installed Google on Mate30 pro yesterday and today from here:

I've tried both of these methods and both work on my P40 Pro with firmware .131. I've now updated to August security patch .154 and all Google services are still working fine.

I tried many methods so far, the one you used, one from a German guy, the other from the Portuguese guy (video in English) but all more or less resulted the same.
What I cannot understand is whether I do have play services working after all, or not, since as I said, my content syncs, although I am getting the non-certified error. Ok, and I do not have notifications from gapss.. [emoji23]
So I am really really confused.

How to downgrade? Some tutorial just downloading firmware with checking firmware approve or not approve. Is it safe to install with differen region firmware? Or all firmware just the same and can be installed to all devices?

No, it is not save to install a firmware that does not suite to your device. In best case it just can't be installed, in worst case you'll brick your phone. This is at least what I think and what a heard from other user reports in this forum. Do you have difficulties to find the right firmware?

So what I can say from my side, Gmail app works for me. And Google Home allows me to sign in. Anyway I don´t use this app, so I cannot say more about it.
On the other side I had problems with syncing contacts and calendar.. but I found a solution.
Maybe the "functionality" refers to the firmware, maybe the GMS installation is just not "perfect".
Any other apps, that don´t work for you.? I can install them on my phone and try, if they are not country related, as "food delivery service" you´ve mentioned?

First of all, thanks vm for your assistance
You can try to search for "efood delivery" , but even netflix does not let me sign in, although their behavior is different; when i click sign in to netflix, i get the pop up abt the device not being certified, then takes me back to initial netflix screen. In the efood app, I click to launch the app, i get the error and then the app closes again. The weird thing is that efood is also in appGallery (huawei native store), so supposedly it should work.
To be honest, I love huawei devices for their build quality, cameras, battery performance and I have been debating with myself on whether I should buy the p40 pro (i really need google apps for so many reasons- home automation by using google home, etc), but I guess I am screwed; unless I make things work properly i will have to keep using my p20 pro.

I just installed efood delivery, at least it lets me to sign in via facebook.
Concerning Netflix. It doesn´t work on some devices. I had problems with OnePlus and also with my Huawei P40 Pro at the beginning. Now it works (after installing through Aurora Store I think). I don´t think it is GSM related. For me it works. But there are some solutions in the app-section on XDA.

The installation is far from perfect i tell you that
Let me ask you something, so if you have a successful gms installation, i take it that after that you have to freeze gsf in order to have push notifications of you have normal push notifications?I am somewhat confused on this. Do you have to freeze gsf to have push and then to unfreeze only when you want to use playstore?

No, I didn´t freeze anything. But as I remember it didn´t work from the beginning. I tried so many things and actually I don´t know why everything is working now. I should have written down all my steps . I think I also updated Google services. For syncing contacts I had to downgrade GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.
And I still didn´t recognize, if I get all the notifications that are possible. But I get them for my mails and all other messages (using signal for sms), whatsapp and I don´t miss anything.
If I understood correctly you imported your apps from your P20? Another idea, that there is a conflict with this method? I didn´t have this opportunity as I came from a non huawei device. I had to install all my apps from scratch using Aurora as well as Playstore especially for my paid apps.

Since I had nothing to lose (phone not being properly setup with gms) I restored my p20 pro backup via hisuite. All my data, even home screen, were restored, minus 76 apps which failed for no apparent reason, I just saw a msg that 76 apps did not complete restoration (I have more than 250 apps installed normally)
Now I am pairing my Samsung watch active 2 to see if this works, but as I see it, I will have to try again from scratch.

Of course I cannot know but HiSuite could be the problem, especially if you restore data from a different device. Did you just restore app data or also system data? I´m not firm with HiSuite, but also with former devices I sometimes had conflicts by using backup apps - one reason I miss root.... but I knew it before and still happy with Huawei and the given solutions here on XDA.
So yes, maybe give it a second try, but please don´t make me responsible if you brick your phone ... Good luck!

Or you try to reset all your settings first through the phone´s menu. Maybe you have also restored settings from your older device which cause a conflict now.

I also noted that in my setting menu when I select Google account it just keeps loading, is it the same in yours?
P.s: yesterday I inserted my sim cards and got a notification for 154 update, finally.. [emoji23] (although I won't be doing the update until I get this working)
FOR the time being, with my device as is, I would say that I could use it if I had Google home working (my local food app suddenly started to work), even though I am getting the error page when I open apps, since it seems that at the same time apps are working. Any solution on that?

I'm very invested in the supposed upcoming Google Assistant release, so I've decided to start an unofficial updates/sources page, which I will update to the best of my ability. If you find a piece of information that may relate to the release of Google Assistant, please reply.
On another note, I think we should keep in mind that Google Assistant integration on the Galaxy Watch is probably taking a backseat with the upcoming S22 release. We shouldn't expect anything in the upcoming months.

Samsung is pretty big company and I doubt there software development team works on both the wear watches and phones/tablets. Even a simple mobile game with less than 5-10 devs they each have there own full time job responsibilities that they don't cross back and forth between. So I don't think what's going on with S22 is playing a role in software with Google Assistant functionality. With GA from Google and Bixby by Samsung I would be certain GA coding is done by Google devs and not Samsung.
Just came across the following...
Looks like Google confirmed that assistant is NOT coming to the GW4
Samsung Galaxy Watch4 won’t get Google Assistant after all
Verizon published the changelog a bit too early, thus prompting a response from Google when a major feature was missing.

That update is the one we already have had for weeks on the non-LTE version. We already know Assistant isn't in it. That doesn't mean it isn't ever coming. It could just has well have meant "it isn't coming to GW4 in this update". In fact, that they have screenshots of what it will look like means it is being worked on somewhere for something. Perhaps it was meant to be in this update we already had but delayed for technical reasons. Who knows?

I doubt an app install would be able to do the button remapping and adding text to select Bixby or Assistant.

Galaxy Watch 4 customers can download Google Assistant on their wearable devices from the Google Play Store starting today.
People, it hasnt even rolled out yet, anywhere...stop asking for what isnt available, give the FOMO a rest....
Can people relax.....
Its an app, the provision for enabling it as an assistant was already present in the recent firmware update, thats been documented extensively
Take a pill, stop speculating, that all people have done about this for 6 months, please stop it now that its here....look a few posts above my one, some claiming that it wasnt coming at all
People need to relax....theres no hour mentioned for launch, If youre sitting there refreshing your play store every 30 seconds, then frankly you have a problem....open the door, take a walk...sitting there refreshing wont make it come any quicker...

It will be available in the play store, not a firmware update

Is this country of residence or the country the phone was bought?
Looks like it's starting to be available, it showed up on my watch when i searched the play store on the watch itself for "google assistant"

though the watch version is listed as just "assistant" in the play store
and thankfully, you are able to assign assistant to a double press for the home key instead of bixby without any re-mapping apps!
