My Transformer Prime Infinity currently has the epad-10.6.1.14 update installed. recently i got a message that a system update was available so i clicked on it, and was told it would downgrade to epad-10.4.4.25 dated 5-10-13. Of course i cancelled it but it keeps coming back up now and again.
I am wondering why it is doing this and how to stop it....
Thanks
10.6.1.14.?
It's gotta be either .8 or .10
And you have the TF700 or the Transformer Prime? Two different devices.
Could it be that you have the 10.4.4.25 firmware file somewhere on your system? Check your storage.
You can clear cache and data on DMClient and CMClient in Apps>All, but if the firmware sits anywhere on your internal storage the notification will come back.

Hi guys!
I was rooted on my tf101 (b60) and then i decided to go back to completely stock without root. So I'm stock now but i can't update my tf101 to newest .24 OTA. I installed stock recovery too... Is there any way to get the new OTA?
You have B60, you might NvVflash your TF101 back to clean 9.2.1.17 or 9.2.1.21 totally stock and start from there updating your TF101 up to 9.2.1.24..

Yea your going to have to go completely back to .17.

NvFlash to .17, upgrade ota to .24.
I still have the same problem...(after using NVflash)...
Still?? That's rather, unheard of. You can't take any OTAs at all? Place the offical ota update zip from asus on the sdcard and see if it asks to update.
Try force closing and clearing the data on DMClient and CMClient. Reboot, check for update.
I downgraded to .17 and without any problem updated to .21 then transformer couldn't see .24 update. Where can i find .24 .zipped OTA?
Clearing DMC and CMC clients didn't help.
The WW, US and TW updates are on the ASUS site
http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/#download
Link above is good ^^ forgot to post sorry xD
Putting update .zip file on Micro SD helped!
Thanks everybody
Weird how NvFlash didn't work...
I got a notice a couple days ago saying there was a system update so I updated my system software to 4.2.1. Since then absolutely everything I do with the device is noticeably slower.
1. Is this just me or is this a common problem? I couldn't find other people saying the same thing.
2. How can I fix this and get my performance back?!?!?!

Some got this problem. try Cold boot first, if that dont solve it back up everything and perform a factory reset and try reflashing the ROM.

I has this on my first install...
What I did was install.
Factory Restore x3 - 3 TIMES IN A ROW
Cold Boot
Install Apps - App Backup (Ti Ba) etc
Cold Boot.
DONE
Cold booting seems to make it worse and a regular reboot only makes it run faster for a little while. Any ideas?

The best way to deal with issue like this, is backup your stuff, do a factory reset (twice) then reflash the full Asus firmware. If issue resolved then slowly restore or reinstall your download apps.
I agree with solution. My tablet turned into complete molasis after 4.2.1 update.
I then back up my apps+data and factory reset the tablet.
It erased everything that was on the Internal storage and reset the tablet back to fresh brand-new 4.2.1 state.
Things are running much better now.
Wish I had backed up the files I had in the Pictures and Videos folders of Internal Storage that were lost in the reset, but oh well.
If you have a rooted tablet and you do the factory reset will you keep root? (not unlocked or able to get to recovery, just rooted with rootkeeper installed as well).

Yes it should. However, if you lose root on JB, not a problem anymore. This tool can root your device while on JB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230763 , remeber to uninstall any left over root before using the tool.

It is possible if you follow the process properly but you can root 4.2.1, so if OTA root keeper dont work you can still root.

The factory reset will help just make sure EVERYTHING is backed up. apps by titanium, and you internal storage to mSD card or to a computer.

Any word on how your Infinity came out after factory reset. Did it turn out to be faster?

I did the full wipe and everything is running much quicker. I tried to back everything up with the Carbon app to assist with the restore but the app couldn't see the backup after the reset. Doh.

TF700t running slow fix
I'm at 4.2.1 and experienced all the issues that have been document here and elsewhere. I was on the verge of trying to put in a one of the third party ROMs, but decided to give the factory reset a chance. Backed up the data using the Asus app to my microSD and removed it. Did the three time reset recommended and on the third try went through the setup. All my old apps were captured from the Play Store and then I installed the program/data backup on top of that. So far the tablet is now working without the long lags in using Chrome or just typing this reply. One of the games I backed-up was restored to the current game point. I would highly recommend doing the Factory Reset option (recommended is three times) to see if you can recover some of the speed in the tablet. Mine did and given I invested in the keyboard, I was not interested in making the move to say the Samsung Tab Pro and the expense involved.

Yes you have just cleaned you /data partition. It will eventually come back and without unlocking and installing a rom that supports trim there is not much you can do......
Bummer

Thanks for the inside info. I'll keep an eye on it and if it reverts, I'll go to plan B and install a new ROM. So there are no tools like a defrag for SSD that you fix the problem in Android other than through the ROM? Seems like it would be something that would be very useful.

There are yes - lagfix on the play store will trim the file system. You need to be rooted though.
My Pad is stock rooted running latest ota firmware. Last night I was removing apps stock apps with root uninstaller I was way to tired or way to buzzed and I removed my launcher by accident i was backing up everything I was uninstalling but I did not realize that it was backing up to internal memory after that my battery died when I tried to turn tablet back on all i got was the asus logo with the circle spinning. I tried to reinstall firmware through stock recovery and it starts installing and fails with android on back with red triangle. I did a wipe data from recovery menu and my tablet booted up and i connected to wifi and added my gmail accounts but iam missing the launcher. Is there a simple way to reinstall stock firmware or if someone can backup their stock apps and I can reinstall them. I can get into root uninstaller and I still have root.

I have previously tried both of those methods numerous times to no avail, each time ending with an android on its back and a red triangle my tablet it currently running with limited function If I could find backups of the system apps i could reinstall them. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you rename it properly? The method will always work if you rename it correctly and follow the instructions.

Can you PC communicate with your device through fastboot?
I probably could my tablet is not unlocked I do not know if that matters
If i reboot tablet it will not boot back up unless i wipe data then it goes to setup wizard which does work. I have enough functionality to manually install apps

I have a ASUS Transformer TF300T and i can still update and install apps from the play store, but when i go online and try to install something (trying to install casper, which is a snapchat alternative not available in google play), it says that there isn't enough space. I am stumped. Any ideas? Asus Transformer TF300T with Cromi-x custom rom and rooted. Android 4.2.1
use a custom recovery to wipe cache partition then try again
I don't know how to mark this as solved, but i did a factory reset and it is working good again. Needed one anyway. Thanks for the help though. I did wipe the cache too.
