Is it possible to disable the Navigationbar completely?
I´ve still tested "Auto Hide Soft Keys" and modifying the System\build.prop but no chance.
Dave
got it...
its: qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
not: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
in Syster\build.prop
do you need to root the phone to change those settings ?

I wouldn't know, Xposed is the fastest way to do it so that's what I use.
Good luck.

You can use this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.recently&hl=en_GB
for close all button.
And for APM I'm using this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc&hl=en_GB
you can set it to have power menu button in notifications.
Hello any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. I accidentally disabled system.ui with Package Disabler Pro and now lost touch on the phone. The touch screen is still active because when the phone dims it lights back up when I touch it. However, I can't access any applications, menu's and the volume keys also appear to be disabled. I also can't scroll between home screens. The power button does work, I have not tried to restart the phone as of yet.
Is there anything I can do to re-enable the system.ui from Package Disabler?
I think that if you wipe your phone by recovery it should be right even if you will lose all your data file. Try and wait for another solution... it could be you will save your data file

I was able to fix it by going into safe mode and disabling the administrative permissions to package disabler pro. Thank you the thread can be locked.

Anyone know if it's possible to change the size of the navigation buttons? It's so small for a giant screen like that what has in this phone.
Thanks.
Or, does anyone know how to make them disappear?

adb shell
settings put global navigationbar_is_min 1
This hides the navigation bar while keeping the status bar visible.

This trick doesn't work anymore on MHA-L29C185B182.
To apply the settings temporarily, the original Huawei Home launcher must be used, and after reboot the phone , navigation bar reapers.
Did you find any alternatives?
Thanks!

You can try to activate feature a retractable navigation. Need full ROOT
Method:
Using RootExplorer go to System and keep a copy of the build.prop. If does not help, restore stock recovery. Then open the build. prop in a text editor and find the following line ro.config.hw_navigationbar=false(change to true)
If such lines do not exist you just need to enter
ro.config.hw_navigationbar=true
Put "permission 0644 and reboot

None of the usual methods work so far. I too would love a way to disable them as I prefer to just use LMT pie controls with no nav bar.

Can anyone confirm if this actually works? When I tried editing the build.prop previously it glitched the screen out and I had to wipe. Have you done this and successfully disabled your navigation bar?

i have done this and after reboot there is still no option for me to hide the navi bar
www.xda-developers.com/how-to-hide-the-navigation-bar-in-emui-5-0/amp/
That removes the Navbar but unfortunately LMT or any similar apps don't work when swiping from up the bottom of the screen, only the sides work.

Hi Guys,
I was planning to root my phone but I don't want to do a factory reset. Is there any possibility to edit the build.prop without root? The only reason I wanted to root is to enable on screen navbar and disable the hw buttons. I hate them
If anyone has any solution for this, i would forever be in debt to you
Thank you!
Dan
No, build.prop is a system file and thus requires root to edit
