chrome reload - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Load a site, hit home button, hit chrome icon again, the tab reload. Is this new behavior ? it didn't happen in nexus 4.

I've got this issue too. Also happens on chrome beta. Did not happen on my old nexus 4. This behavior also happens sometimes when switching tabs. Tried changing the preload page setting but didn't help..

back button refreshes website instead??

been having a very annoying issue where i press the back button an all it does is refresh the page. issue is with dolphin and default browser.
*example. if i search something in google and click on a link and want to go back to search page, it just keeps on refreshing the page and only way to go back is to close the browser and start all over again.
I experience this issue as well.
Here's something you can do until someone figures out why this is happening. Instead of closing the browser and starting all over again, try holding down the back button. History will pop up and you can select to go back to the page you were on before. I'm not sure if that works in Dolphin, but it works in the Stock browser.
Same thing happens here, guess its a bug.

This happens on pages that does redirects. So when you hit back, you are pushed back to the redirect page which pushes you forward again. Normal desktop browser behaves the same way.
Its not really a bug with the browser...more like a missing feature. With regular browsers you cab typically go back multiple steps.

Chrome web browser problems

I have a brand new HTC One X on att, and I have been using chrome for awhile now and all of a sudden it stops cooperating. Specifically when you try to load a web page it shows that it is loading, but never actually shows the web page and you can keep clicking refresh and it does the same thing. Also at the same time if you click the button to view open tabs the top of the screen changes, but the rest stays white and you cant see the open tabs. I have uninstalled the app a few times and re-installed and the problems persist so I am stuck using the stock web browser which isn't as bad as chrome but does have some annoying features. Has anyone else experienced this problem with chrome?

It's not a phone specific issue, I've run in to that before too. Sometimes clearing the apps data and cache in 'Android Settings>Apps.'

[Q] Download notification won't go away...

Whenever I finish downloading a non-Play Store file and clear it from my notification tray, a few minutes later it pops back up. I clear it again, but it returns a few minutes later, etc. I have to go into my apps screen and clear data for Download Manager to finally kill the notifications. (The same thing happens when I simply tap on the notification for a completed download, though nothing happens when I do that -- the notification simply disappears temporarily.) Moving the file out of the Downloads folder doesn't fix this either.
Any idea on how to fix this?
Reboot?

Browser glitch. Write to the browser maker. Dolphin can be that way sometimes. I just ignore it. They go away when dolphin shuts down. (Greenify)

Are you using ART runtime, maybe Dolphin is not compatible with that.

ART is still experimental atm, never had an issue on Dalvik myself.

[Q] Dolphin browser crashes horrifically with side effects, anyone else have this ?

So when using Dolphin browser on my S6, and visiting some sites [replicable for me loading up imgur.com ] the browser freezes up midway through loading it, and the page becomes unresponsive. A few seconds later the screen goes black, and brings me back to the home screen of the phone. After this, my wallpaper would be reverted to default, and while plugged into my computer I would lose access to the sd card.
Has anyone else experienced a crash like that from Dolphin on their s6?
I've since uninstalled it and have been using chrome for now.
Hi, Same problem with my S6 Edge and dolphin browser. I think we should wait for an update from dolphin and it will be solved.
If you have jetpack enabled. Try disabling and/or uninstalling it. Worked for me.

Hello, you can send a report when you encountred the freeze/crash issue again via Dolphin Settings> About > Send Feedback > Not responding/Stopped unexpectedly. After all, the issue you described seems complicated.

They actually fixed it a month or two after the phone came out. It was in the changelog. Still, too long for such an unusable bug. I moved to chrome and haven't gone back.

Chrome tabs keep refreshing

Wondering if anyone else has noticed this and has a fix? When switching between apps many times if I go back to Chrome any tabs I have open will completely refresh. Annoying as hell and I don't get this issue on my Note 4 Edge
Thanks
Likely due to Android memory management

No fix, unfortunately. The tab can't seem to multitask between apps well, every time I switch back to an app I was recently in, the app restarts. It's incredibly frustrating.
