back button refreshes website instead?? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

been having a very annoying issue where i press the back button an all it does is refresh the page. issue is with dolphin and default browser.
*example. if i search something in google and click on a link and want to go back to search page, it just keeps on refreshing the page and only way to go back is to close the browser and start all over again.

I experience this issue as well.
Here's something you can do until someone figures out why this is happening. Instead of closing the browser and starting all over again, try holding down the back button. History will pop up and you can select to go back to the page you were on before. I'm not sure if that works in Dolphin, but it works in the Stock browser.

Same thing happens here, guess its a bug.

This happens on pages that does redirects. So when you hit back, you are pushed back to the redirect page which pushes you forward again. Normal desktop browser behaves the same way.
Its not really a bug with the browser...more like a missing feature. With regular browsers you cab typically go back multiple steps.

Browser Refreshing

Ok I'm using the stock browser app, and after going to the home page of the phone then going back to the browser app it refreshes the current page. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?
That happens to me too and I hate it!
I see it's the same on JFv1.43 Holiday and JFv1.43 RC9.

Yea its the browser itself, but its annoyin, and the "stop" command never stops when you press it, or it stops on a blank screen
Don't like it too.
Not sure why it works this way. Should be some reason...
yes its annoying when i finally get mobsters to load, i have noticed some things, if i get a mms message read it, reply and put the phone back in portrait mode, before i click the back button, the screen will normally not refresh, but when switching between multiple browser windows, sometimes it will, sometimes it won't, possibly it cant keep that much information in memory?

Dolphin Major Issue

Everytime I switch back to Dolphin page it keeps opening loafing Google my set home page. I want it to stay the same page it was last at. It womb do that but its just normal. I tried clearing the set hone page to blank but that just has it launching a blank page still doednt fix thy issue at all I've gone into the habit of pressing back each time there must be a simple solution but I haven't found it in the options..tell and help me please!!!

[Q] Stock browser closing unexpectedly

Has anyone experienced this or has this been discussed in any thread for the TF? But my stock browser often closes unexpectedly with no force close message and returns to the home screen. When reopened, it forgets the recently the opened pages. Very, very annoying..

I got this a few times last night. It happened mainly on large/busy sites. I think this is an issue that will be rectified with the future 3.1 update.

Had it happen once or twice in the past 3 weeks. I think it is just an HC stability issue.
It seems to happen to me more often after I updated to the latest Adobe Flash 10.3.
Ditto. It has happened here every once and a while... But not enough to bother me.. I assume it will be addressed later.
This happened about 3 times yesterday evening while I was browsing. I don't know if it is related to a HC stability bug, or an Adobe Flash bug, although I'm more inclined towards the former, because I can browse perfectly fine with my Atrix on Flash 10.3. Also, I noticed a strange thing for the first time yesterday: When the browser crashes with no FC message, and you restart it back again, I get a screen filled with banding and multi-colored interference. Only way to fix it is to restart. I hope all of this gets taken care of with 3.1, because the browser experience really leaves something to be desired on 3.0.1 in my opinion. It just does not handle any heavy pages at all, let alone any embedded videos or just videos period.
happens when you try surfing to gmail
If you would like to see it crash 100% of the time, go to your gmail and try to open a message
It also freaks out in Gmail main page.
I was having browser crashes as well until the sudden disk space full error. After my factory reset the browser crashes have gone away. I wonder if they are related.
I got it twice in 3 weeks. It happened both times on Yahoo's ain page.
Happens to me also but never loses its place.
3.1
i first noticed this happening last night, 2nd night after updating to 3.1. never happened before that. i don't have the screen timeout on so the screen will stay on so i can see my moves list at a glance on a website. after about 10-15 minutes of not touching device it will just suddenly return to the homescreen and if i open browser it has to reload the page. i thought maybe it was something to do with the built in android memory management auto killing the browser, since there doesn't appear to be any flash on the page.
i too am having this problem.
Stock browser is where it started, so I go Dolphin HD and it still happens. So its not the browser itself it would seem, since 2 different browsers both do it.
There HAS to be a fix for this...
Since the 3.1 update I'm seeing something different - The browser simply stops responding after a while.

I to am having trouble with my browser. I am experiencing it ceasing to function aftwr awhile as l as frequent crashing when I load it. Crashes all the time if I type anything or use the menu if Ido so before it finishes loading my home page.
When your updated to 3.1, click reset all in the settings menu. Then when it's finish go into the browser settings and set plugins to be on demand. I'm able to run well like that it is flash that kills it, soon as you click the flash content to enable it on a page it may crash.

Chrome web browser problems

I have a brand new HTC One X on att, and I have been using chrome for awhile now and all of a sudden it stops cooperating. Specifically when you try to load a web page it shows that it is loading, but never actually shows the web page and you can keep clicking refresh and it does the same thing. Also at the same time if you click the button to view open tabs the top of the screen changes, but the rest stays white and you cant see the open tabs. I have uninstalled the app a few times and re-installed and the problems persist so I am stuck using the stock web browser which isn't as bad as chrome but does have some annoying features. Has anyone else experienced this problem with chrome?

It's not a phone specific issue, I've run in to that before too. Sometimes clearing the apps data and cache in 'Android Settings>Apps.'

chrome reload

Load a site, hit home button, hit chrome icon again, the tab reload. Is this new behavior ? it didn't happen in nexus 4.
I've got this issue too. Also happens on chrome beta. Did not happen on my old nexus 4. This behavior also happens sometimes when switching tabs. Tried changing the preload page setting but didn't help..
