I am using TB Donate and have two questions.
1. Is it possible to back only data of the system/system apps and data of my installed apps without backing up the custom applications itself?
2. Is it possible to check if some data have been changed and only actualize the current backup with those databases?
I'm looking to root my NS to overclock and dab into the voodoo stuff (heard it can really improve sound and screen quality) but all the root methods I've seen will totally wipe the phone. I have a lot of valuable data on my phone along with data in games that I don't want to lose. Is there any method that doesn't wipe the phone clean? I'm on a Mac btw.
to my knowledge, no. when you unlock the boot loader, it wipes you clean.

There is no known way to root without wiping. If you have any data you want to preserve, you can use cat or sd in terminal emulator (or perhaps adb shell) to copy the data files to the sdcard. Then backup the sdcard, as it too will be wiped. I can help you out with the commands to backup any apps that I have installed. Perhaps some one else who's rooted can give you the paths & filenames for your other paid apps.
Which apps are you looking to backup?

i would love your help with this, i got a replacement phone and i need to transfer data from one app. i have a mac and pc available
Gingerbreak, I did it.
2.3.2 or lower only
There is no way to NOT wipe but you can backup your data in several ways. Often when I have to change ROMs you need to wipe data as well, so I find apps to backup my apps (titanium backup) and other important data like texts and things.

Titanium backup requires root.

Hello I want to know if there is the possibility of modifying the rom or an apk so that the data of a single application is installed in the system to avoid losing the data after a factory reset. thanks i hope you answer

You can backup the data and store the backup somewhere other than on your device then use the backup to restore the data if it gets wiped.

So my understanding is that in order to be able to make a complete backup of all my data which can't be backed up normally such as my browser data, game progress, protected apps etc I need root which requires unlocking the bootloader which wipes all the data I am trying to save. So how to I backup this data?
It's been many years since I rooted a phone but I don't remember the rooting process normally erasing all my data.
You can use HTC Sync Manager and Google Cloud services to save/restore apps and apps data. You have 3 hours or so to restore data from Google services cloud.
is there method to take a copy or app data recover without root?
