I have a Note 2 and a Nexus 5. When I first turned on my N5 I noticed something was up with the display (not the camera). Then when I put it side by side with my note 2 it was obvious that the N5 has a bad purple tint to the white screens.
My nexus 5 has a warm display, but not purplish. The whites have a slight reddish hue.
Mine is massively too warm, whites are yellow

Same here. Would like normal colors again.

Well thats good that the displays seem to at least be consistently off. Should be easier to rectify. Either way the display still looks gorgeous even though the colors are off a bit. Will look stunning once someone gets a kernel out there that allows us to properly calibrate the colors.
Mine is really brownish warm too with backlight bleeding in the corners. I'll take a picture next to my Nexus 4 when I get home.
In the meantime, could someone take a side by side picture of their Nexus 4/5 using a white background?
Thanks.

So I have an odd blue tint on my screen when it dims. I had another Nexus S before and this didn't happen, how do I fix this? It's only when the screen is dimmed or the brightness is low.
Same I took mine to best buy and the guy said that some screens are just like that and that's theres nothing wrong with it and he wouldn't let me return it. I'm a little bitter and I like ruin on sentences.

I have been noticing a strange tint when the screen is dimmed on my phone as well. I generally run it on mid brightness just because the thing looks so damn beautiful to have dim all the time.

Trust me, you don't want to return that one. The blue tint screen is the closest to true color display. Most of us are unfortunate to have the purple tint display, and trust me, it's ugly compared to the blue tint issue!

Has anyone noticed/experienced a yellowish tint on their g2x? It is very noticeable on my phone whenever there is any kind of white background, and it is only in the bottom left corner area. Im on my second g2x and everything else is great, but this is starting to bug me. Is this something that can be fixed?

If it is screen bleed, it's not the "typical" screen bleed that lots of people experience to different degrees. I do have minimal bleed in the upper corners, but this is different. Unlike regular bleed, It's noticable on bright-colored screens (like white). For example, if I am reading text on white background, the bottom left corner looks yellowish - almost like it's dirty.
I noticed this, too. My screen is more yellow than my wife's g2x, but hers has some screen bleed. I honestly like the slight yellow tint. Much easier on the eyes, and colors on this phone look more natural.

Here is a video of the yellow tint problem I uploaded 2 days after I purchased it. Since then, I've had 3 replacements, each one fixed one issue but magnified another. Out of all of the issues the device has, this is the only one i can tolerate.

My fourth one had the worst screen bleed and this tint issue. It was very obvious. Because the bleed bleed was the worst on that one I assumed the tint was because of that.
me too

I've gotten a little worried about all the talk here regarding screen defects. Made a quick video to see what you think?
At the first boot I did notice a stuck pixel on upper edge of screen....greenish. Didn't think that would bother me much. Decided to get one of the test apps and take a look. Its hardly visible... Mostly on dark screens.
I did notice on the black screen some bleed light. Not sure if that is a little inevitable with LED screens. It changes a bit if u squeeze the bezel. Just not used to that coming from AMOLED Note. Blacks on this are way better but whites on Nexus are better.
Thanks.

Or it's just my unit? I mean it's not bad, I can only see thin horizontal lines when the screen is off/dark and reflects some light. It's not as annoying as the replacement I once got on my Lumia, which had like thick checkerboard-like grid, pretty much always visible unless you were in a super dark room, but I notice it from time to time. How's your screen? Is it perfectly uniform when light reflects upon it or you can actually see some pattern, even if it's very light? Just wondering whether my unit is defective or it's just the norm. Thanks.
I can see slight lines in mine also. No big deal since that's how the screen is made I believe.
Sent from my amazing nexus 5 that dicecuber/trolls hate.
I've seen it too in the right lighting conditions.
That's what I was thinking pretty much...well, I feel sorta relieved right now, but basically I was simply curious...this is the best screen I've ever seen period, I'm more than happy with it!
The Nexus 5 definitely has a beauty of a screen, I can notice digitizer lines barely in direct sunlight with the phone tilted at a certain angle

I have turned red off in colour balance, I have tried a different display formats and can't get rid of it. what's worse, is that at the endge of the screen it's a red GRADIENT so even if I get it close to white, it will never be even

Is this while viewing straight on or at angle?
This is crap. Samsung will ever get their screens right?
Pics please
Mine has a very slight red/pink tint on the right hand edge as you look at it straight on. Goes away when you tint it to an angle. Something obviously isn't as it should be but it's almost like the curved edge is causing it. My S6 Edge had nothing like it though.

agreed, a couple of others on another forum I post on have the same issue, looking straight on doesn't help because of that graident around the phone.
