Hello. My sister has a Galaxy tab 2, and I rooted it several months ago. Today, after letting it on the charger last night, I find that the charging animation is on for a few seconds, then the device reboots and repeats the process. I couldn't connect to my laptop or get into recovery. I need to know what to do to fix it, do I use Odin and flash stock? Also, I'd like to put cyanogenmod 10 on it, what's the latest stable build, and how do you put it on the tab?

try to boot into recovery and wipe cache partition this might help you
and try latest aokp rom for tab 2 its great
I had recovery flashed, I somehow managed to fix this. I booted while holding the volume up and down buttons, then pressed, not held the power button. It wouldn't charge while it was on or off, so I powered off normally. It then started charging only when it was off. I used CWM's ROM manager to flash CWM, then backed up, wiped, and installed CM 10 stable. I'm a fan of Cyanogenmod, I've ran it on about every phone I've owned.

Hi,
So my SGS2 Skyrocket is stuck in a boot loop. I've have the Sky Icecream Sandwich ROM installed for a few months now, and haven't changed anything recently.
What is happening is my phone with vibrate every 2-3 seconds with a blank screen. When I take out the battery/power source, and put it back in, the phone shows the Samsung splash (not the Android splash) for a few seconds, then goes blank and does the vibrating again.
I've tried plugging it into the computer, but the power it gets from USB turns it on and into the boot loop, so I can't get it into any kind of recovery mode. I also tried the Vol+Home+Power key combo, with nothing.
Any idea what could cause this/what the course of action should be? Thanks!
Turn phone on and wait 2 hours. If it wont work do what you use to do when you booting recovery mode. (home screen i guess). But hold it longer.
Good luck
nathan-96, do you have any idea what caused this? Because what's concerning me is that it's not getting past the Samsung icon (before android starts actually booting).
When you say turn it on, do you mean just put in the battery? Because the loop starts right when I put the battery in, it doesn't wait for me to press anything.
No, I meant turning it on. Hold centre button and put battery in. Just hold it for a moment. Hopefully you will reach recovery.

Can you access download mode instead of recovery? If so you could try re flashing something with Odin...
Definitely try getting the battery out for a few minutes and boot the phone while maintaining the combination to enter recovery

AT&T Skyrocket BOOT LOOP Cyanongenmod 10
Hi ,
I´am playing with my Skyrocket to run the Cyanogenmod 10 and always I got stuck at Boot Loop .
This is what I have and did :
- Running AT&T Stock ICS 4.0.4 UCFL6 rooted ( I have a back up of this)
- CWM 6.0.1
- Cyanogenmod 10 Nightly Dec 07 , but I also tried with Cyanogenmod 10 Stable
- Gapps
- Factory Reset / wipe cache
- Wipe dalvik
- Mount/storage format system
- install using CWM Cyanogenmod
- install using CWM gapps
- Mount/ storage format cache
- reboot
I also tried to wipe twice as other threads say.
So I´am still with the boot loop
I returned my backup to the ICS ...
Thanks in advance !!!
Skyrocket Bootloop
Whats happening is the power button acts as if its being pressed. Thats why you have the bootloop and the phone turns on as soon as you put the battery in.
Try repeating pressing the power button or hold the power button without the battery for a few seconds. :fingers-crossed:
I unlocked bootloader and rooted a couple of days ago. Phone was running smooth. I downloaded and installed cwm. Today I downloaded Bean's Build 14 and tried to install through cwm. When it rebooted I got stuck on the Samsung screen. I tried to flash back to original settings with Odin but now my phone won't turn on at all. I am charging but no battery indicator or led is on to indicate charging. Please help.
Try leaving it plugged in for an hour, and then trying. Also might want to try leaving the battery out for 30 min and trying again. If you are unable to get any response from the phone, then it is likely hard bricked. The only thing that can save it at that point is sending it in for JTAG repair. That service starts at $60.

How did you unlock the bootloader? using EZ-Unlock? Also did you make a nandroid before you flashed? If so try booting into CWM using VOL+ Home and Power and restore your nandroid and see if that works.
I think i might have wrecked my P5110!
I rooted it to Cyanogen mod about 6 month ago to CM10.1.1 and that was great.
I had been using the built in updater to get the latest Cyanogen firmware without any problem. Decided to try a CM 10.2 nightly but was having big problems with it draining battery, crashing and rebooting for no apparent reason.
No problems thinks I, just unwind it to an older version of CM from the built in Cyanogen Mod Updater. I selected 10.1.3 RC2, and left it be.
Came back to it some time later to find the old logo spinning there. Figured it was still running and left it some more, and some more, and some more and it just kept spinning. I guess its knackered. I DID NOT wipe the cache and data as i was doing it from within Cyanogen so naively thought it would work okay.
Okay thinks I, go into recovery, wipe the cache. No dice. Try as i may i can NOT get ClockWorkRecovery to come up, only ODIN.
Talk about fools rush in. Simple thinks I, reinstall CWM from ODIN, go back into CWM, wipe the cache, see if that works.
flashing goes smoothly, but try as i may i can no longer get into ODIN or CWM, only into a never ending circle of Cyanogen bootup.
Any suggestions for a next step. Had the worst day at work and really shouldn't have bothered touching the damn thing!
Oh, I might well have spotted the problem
I thought I was flashing the CWM for P5110, but a closer inspection of the filename
GT-P5100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0.tar
Shows quite clearly what i've done.
I'm guessing there is no coming back from this?

Flash stock firmware via pc odin this will solve your issues. ....

Every time you flash with ANY ROM you need to wipe data or bootloop obviously will appear.

Even though your recovery may be screwed up, it's strange that you can't get to the download mode... So, what exactly happens if you force reboot by holding power for several seconds, and immediately after that hold power and Volume Up together while it's powering up?
When stuck in the CM boot up, pressing and holding the power button would force a shut down, but the tab would then instantly reboot.
Holding the volume up (or down, i was desperate) until the samsung logo appeared wouldn't get me to ODIN, it would go to the CM boot screen.
If i plugged it into the charger once in the CM splash, and powered down, it would take me to the charge screen. Pulling the plug would then turn it off, without it rebooting.
Initially this wouldn't work, but perhaps because i was being impatient. All the instructions i had read say that the volume button can be released once the samsung logo pops up, perhaps i've miss read. Ultimately i found (more by accident than anything), you need to keep the volume button pressed until the second time the samsung logo pops up, then it will enter ODIN.
I managed to download a a stock rom from SamMobile, and flash it in.
It still wouldn't boot though, until i went into recovery and wiped data/cache. It also then took rather a long time to boot back up, presumably unpacking various 'stuff', had me a little concerned, so i left it alone for a few hours and came back to find the first boot welcome screen.
Lesson to be learned, always wipe the cache/data before an update, even if the previous half dozen CM updates had been fine.
I think what actually screwed things up was going from a 10.2 beta BACK to a 10.1 RC ROM.
Oh well, its working happily again, and not falling over like on the 10.2 beta. And i dont need to buy a RIFF box!
I tried updating my tab from 4.0 to kitkat using omni rom but couldnt because the CWM that is installed isnt capable of installing kitkat. In the bid to have my tab running since i didnt backup when i tried to install the omni rom, i couldnt boot again, it keeps restarting to recovery so philz touch hoping that will fix it but it didnt, so finally got Twerp, the version i presumed will install kitkat. After this was installed, i chose to restart recovery and that was it. My tab never came on again. At first i thought it was the batttery, charged for a long time using different chargers and cables, even trickle chargged it but to no avail. When i plug it to my laptop and press the power button, it shows omap 4430 for few seconds then disappears. Nothing else has seems to work. Please help
my nexus 4 was on temasek's unofficial cm12 build ver 6.1
recovery in use was recovery-philz_touch_6.59.0-mako
i decided to update the rom to build 6.5, so i downloaded the zip to my sdcard,
i had not made a nandroid bkp
after flashing the rom/gapps/superuser, wiping dalvik and cache, things went wrong
after that the phone would only show 'google', then freeze, then go blank, then again show 'google'. this is the first Loop i have encountered where the boot animation never even showed up.
after that in about 8 hrs, i tried all of the foll-
installing the stock images: my phone booted up the first few times i flashed stock images using fastboot, but after three times (because each time it successfully booted i would go back to recovery to try flashing the customromzip) my phone stopped booting up for stock.
it resolutely stayed stuck on the boot ani.
recovery: flashed many times, via sdcard and also via fastboot. no problem with the recovery
zips. absolute fail. nothing can get me past the 'google'
now there's another peculiarity, which makes me wonder if there is hardware damage involved in this softbrick story
after all this flashing my charge came down to 20%, so i tried to charge it (switched off, obviously, since it isn't booting up)
but every time i connect my charger, it boots up,and then shows me google, and freeze and restart..same old cycle
in a last ditch attempt to somehow charge my phone i have brought it to fastboot, and left it connected to my laptop. i don't know if this will work.
please help, also i am now considering using a toolkit, unified android or wugfresh (the latter, i have a previous bad experience with) to get my phone to atleast switch on with something.
should i use the toolkit or just take my brick to the servicecenter to check for damage to hardware
