[Q] CRT-OFF Animation

Hello everyone, I re-edited this post. I would like to know if there is a way to edit the framework.apk and go to the bools (I think) and refit some of the XML codes so we could have our old gingerbread lock animation, all help will be appreciated. Thank you.

and short answer, not really, after a full reboot, the change is lost...
best way to find out? try it! im not a fan of it, so im not even going to bother, but if you root, keep it and copy the files to system, it should work in theory...
but im pretty sure that you have to reboot for the settings to stick :/

It's not like the big letters and colors are inserted by themselves..

You should go back and edit that buddy, or prepare for people to come in here *****ing about it...

And to the OP I don't know but like the above poster said try to copy the files you need to /SYSTEM and then use the FastReboot app, to trick your phone into believing that you have rebooted it and hoefully the changes will stick.

It should be in services.odex, I decompiled it using backsmali but I dont know what to edit. Any help?

I found that it should be in PowerManagerService.smali

there is an app in the market called something screen off and lock ..which has 2 different crt/tv off animations

I would rather try to find out how to enable it through the services.jar better. But thanks for that.

sorry guys, noob question, but how do I boot my r800x into recovery? Im stock rooted so wondering if it will even work for me. would love this instead of using quicker.

You need to install ClockworkMod.
To enter recovery, you reboot your phone. When the "sony ericsson" screen comes on press the volume down button continuously.

Works great on my r800x. CDMA locked bootloader. I am glad to find things like this for us locked BL's. Thanks man!

normB8s, You need to go to Q&A section for 1 and search those kind of Q's. You need CWM or freexperia recovery. Easily found in SEARCH.

Thanks for the install of CWM. I had to find the driver for the xperia play than everything worked. Also thanks for leading me to the Q and A forums. I actually learned some things about my phone i didnt even know. Now im ready to install some cool roms. this is the best thing since DVR...I heard they have a rom for us with locked bootloaders. Im all Geeked up now....

Agreed Blanksr. You did an exceptional job with giving us xperia play users something that should have came stock. I So appreciate it. I have one problem though and that is my menus are all white and the letters are unredable

Does anyone have a flashable zip with those sms bubbles?

what I did is just pull the apk from a rom with them, its called SecMms.apk and use es file explorer to delete the old and paste the new, reboot and ur all good. Note if ur on JB then u have to pull from a JB rom, and ICS to ICS

This would be nice.. i currently have a black and blue themed sms for ICS that actually works on JB, but as exxpected most of the "extras" dont work. I dont rememebr what forum it is on.. all works except the new mms popups in JB roms.

What are you wanting to use these on. Depending on the rom they go in different places I have a bunch of them made up in different colors from the one x.

in system/app. delete your mms.apk before pasting. copy your old mms.apk and put it somewhere in case you need to reinstall it.

I dont know, but the note 3+4 and the s5 have a fully transparent statusbar, the s4 doesnt

No my cousin has Note 3 Official Lollipop rom and doesn't have full Transparent statusbar, I'll give the file to him, and ask for the result.

I dont think its will be gone, if is gone it wont work on overlay style, but ill give it a shot

This is over write style, which means there is no modification on any system app

Download the zip file, then extract it and take the apk inside, then go to system/vender and create a folder with the name "overlay" then correct the permissions of the folder then paste th apk inside the overlay folder and correct the permissions

Im working on solving it, thats why its v1

this is the correct folder permissions
the apk permission are like that too but unmark the 3 Execute

[MOD] ☆UPDATE☆ Floating_Message

Hello everyone
I put together a Floating message zip that should work for all Note 5 variants! But only tested on Tmo N920T. So make a back up, flash and report back with model confirming that it worked or not!
Just flash zip in recovery, reboot and your good to go and now have Floating messages

Im going to put together a manual instruction way to get it to work! I will post soon! In the meantime, go to privapp and delete air message and air message proxy and Secmms_delight_note_open folders, reboot! And that will remove

Manual instructions for Floating message:
Extract my zip and copy air message, air message proxy and Secmms_delight_note_open folders to system/priv-app folder and set permissions for both folder and apk.
Copy this line to feature.xml and others.xml at the bottom found in system/csc.
<CscFeature_Common_EnableAirMessage>TRUE</CscFeature_Common_EnableAirMessage>
Hit save after both and reboot!
Look in settings and floating meesage should be there and look like picture below.
These are the files and what i did to make it work! If it doest work, go back and make sure you have the 3 folders in privapp with correct permissions set for folder and apk and make sure you have that line in feature.xml and others.xml.
Pictures below show how permissions and xmls should look!

Try this really quik... go to system/privapp and tell me if you have a Secmms_delight_note_open and Secmms_delight_note_usa folder....if you do go to usa apk and change the apk name to Secmms_delight_note_usa.bak, just change the apk to bak and reboot and see if it shows in settings

If you can learn to fiddle with this stuff like you just did, you will figure out how to make other mods to work too Thats how i learned! Alot of trial and error and lots of restoring back ups, but it took me a few days to figure this on out! Have a great weekend brotha:beer:
