[Solved]HTC keyboard for 2.3.3

When I was on 2.1 I sideloaded the HTC keyboard to my phone via the SLWM program and I loved it, not sure if it would work or not I installed in on my phone which now has WB GB v4.0 and it didn't work. Just wondering if anyone could get that working for GB, WB GB particularly, and share it with us. This is the one i'm talking about:

did u also install the clicker.apk??? u need to install that first...then htcime.apk

Man...I made a sick 49ers themed keyboard, installed the clicker apk and the keyboard apk, activated the keyboard, went to set it as my default keyboard and I get an immediate FC once I choose it. Grrrrr

On a better note.......
Finally got the damn thing working on my phone! I'm running WB v5.0 and it works like a charm! Here's the one i'm using

The one for Froyo, hi res version. I think it's v27

the v27 is ok...but everytime i reboot my phone ,FC again..but only after each reboot,then,its ok

You need to make sure the v27 one you're using is for Froyo, there are v27 versions floating around that aren't for Froyo and you will get FC's with those.

Yeah I just changed a few things though. Mine still has the System UI error on the current one, and I just added in the fix for phone apk. If you want I can still post it though...

Yeah would be nice, can you see the statusbar in your build and have you tried the system ui from the nexus s port btw??

I'd love to check out the latest stoneyjones build even with the systemui error....maybe play around with a few things and get lucky and sort it out = )

General talking in here just for fun... Easier than subscribing.
But I know I'm going to stay in the Dev thread because it's exciting.

I found a little easter egg. Just like in Gingerbread AOSP, if you tap really fast on the Android version in 'About Phone', it pops up with a cool 8-bit style Android.

So does the build you posted have the touchscreen working? And graphics not distorted? Sorry for the questions but there's so many builds and fixes knocking around now im getting confused!!

No graphics distorted, just slow. And full mutitouch is working, once you make it to the homescreen and switch to maps wallpaper.

Hmm might not have it in that version. Sorry... Oh well, I'll have an updated one posted tomorrow, and hopefully radio or wifi at least.
If you can find the maps apk, you can use adb install to put it on the phone.

because its not for the milestone it was ported to the droid. they are different phones

your idea for emoji.zip is a good one. little things like that are what alot of people look over and forget. im trying to get it to boot atm haha. okay im getting black and white emojis. i cant find the keyboard though

hmm....might be a problem with the modded font not sure.
also the zip should be compatible with any other gingerbread rom since the files it replaces aren't ROM specific

yes it is possible but i don't have a milestone i only have an optimus V and a Droid 1

Thanks for the Emoji Enabler, I have flashed it on numerous ROMs on both my OG Droid and my new HTC Vivid (Gingerbread and ICS, Sense and non-Sense), and it works great. As you stated, the emojis are only B&W, but it's nice to be able to see what my iOS user friends are typing regardless!

Hi Memnoc, I just install the ROm and 1st impression is it's fast (I change the kernel to SB + hardswap) with larger free RAM (over than 200MB) and I'll test furher then. In the mean time I'll report some findings :
a. the EQS button seems won't work. and I don't find any TWEAK app inside the ROM.
b. phonesky.apk is the same as vendering.apk, and you have both inside.

As a matter fact, I've installed it twice, once without removing any bloatware and it's not there.

Nice post question is will this use HTC Camera functions or just pure AOSP rom stuff.
considering the camera on the HTC Roms are way more advanced.
I guess we will wait and see.

except the button mapping sucks compared to the sense rom

Again fingers crossed, I can't wait to turn my AT&T HTC One into a Google Edition, or at least have a 4.2.2 Pure Jelly Bean experience with no bugs

Will the AOSP camera do photo spheres... That is one thing I miss from my NS4G. I don't want to trash the sense camera rather I would like to have both.
