When ever I try to increase or decrease the volume in these cases the volume window only shows one up level and the rest do NOT show whilst the volume actually increases. I have to wait for the window to fade away then when I press the rocker again then it shows the actual volume level but then again any change after the first press has no visual feedback on the menu screen. I'm not sure if that is common and wish someone to check that for me please. Using a White 16GB.
A restart seems to solve this issue.

Is there any way to end the call by pressing the power button?
I don't know of a way to do that. But, I also can't think of a situation where that would be beneficial. If you are using the phone directly, as soon as you move the phone away from your face on the screen there is a big red button. If you are using a heaset they all have buttons on them to end the call.
What is the situation you are experiencing where the power button would be more convenient than the onscreen button, or button on heaset?
Iv just came from the I phone and was use to pressing the top botton.
which will end the call and blacken the screen with just one button. instead of pressing to end the call then turn off the screen.

Why does only the ringer volume change when I use the volume rocker on my home screen? I realize it specifically says "Ringer volume," but is there a way to have my notification volume relatively change as well? I could have sworn this was the case with my old G1.
For example, in the volume settings I have ringer volume set at 100% and notification volume set at 50%. It would be extremely convenient if I used the volume rocker to bring 'ringer' down to 50% and the notification volume would go down by half as well, bringing it to 25%. Similarly, if they were both at 100% in the settings, they'd both be at 50% after I used the rocker to bring 'ringer' down to 50%.
p.s - ever say a word so many times to yourself that it loses meaning?
I do too!!! Lol I want it to be the same

Hey guys, just wanna ask. Have u ever tried increasing volume in Asphalt 6 at the main menu? this seem to increase the overall system's volume even after quitting the game! Instead of displaying " media volume " or " ringer volume ", the grey box only displays "volume" on top of the green volume slider. Hope u guys give this a try. This definitely increase the volume on my HTC sensation.
sorry, didnt work
it displays " volume " only in the game, acts normally after quitting
also, didnt help with the system volume
Hmm i guessed u already maxed out the volume in the first place. Try this. Go into asphalt 6 main menu again , decrease the volume to about half, then quit the game. U,ll then notice even though the "media volume"n the " ringer volume " is maxed out, the volume is still low. It seems that the "volume" slider in asphalt 6 is acting as the master volume controller.

Thanks in advance!
WidgetLocker has the ability
Just tried it, checked the box in settings, but no dice
Uninstalled and got a refund.
Any others?
no lock?
or
Screen Off and Lock?
Thanks, already tried both of them because they worked on my og evo, but no such luck
Coming from the galaxy s2 I do miss the power button on the side, hoping to find a solution still

Actually, I used to have a Nexus One and the power button was broken. To circumvent that, I had to use an app called AnyUnlock. I turned the screen on with the volume rocker and you could also use a widget to turn the screen off (rather than using the power button to turn the screen off). Which I suppose could be useful if you have smaller fingers or something and didn't want to make the reach. Very, very useful app when your power button stops functioning.

I'm sure it uses the same method that the other apps use and it even says in the description on their app page that it only works on Froyo and GB.
Yea seems like all of them don't work with ics urrrrrrrrr

Volume Rocker Wake works on CM9 Alpha 5
I've been using CM9 Alpha 5 for a few hours now and it's great !
The first think I set was the Volume Rocker Wake as the Power Button is not as easy to press when using most cases covering the power button.
To enable it, go to SETTING --> DISPLAY --> VOLUME ROCKER WAKE
it enables waking the phone by pressing the volume rocker EITHER up/down.
There is no way to specify one or the other
However, it works great ! I'm really liking CM9, my only complaint is the missing HTC Camera which was just amazing with the hardware burst (I'm still looking for a way to flash it if that's even possible).
