[Q] Samsung Galaxy Acer will not turn on - General Questions and Answers

Hi, so I found my old Samsung Galaxy Ace (first model) recently, and I have come here to try and resolve the issue that rendered it unusable.
It will not turn on via the power button, I'm able to use the emergency boot feature, but it does not display the Download page (or whatever it is that they show in the tutorials). It just displays text in a box of hash tags. Whenever I connect the device to power via MicroUSB it displays the battery charging screen, however the grey/blackish battery never fills up with green colour (to indicate charging) as it used to. When I take out the battery and connect it to an external battery charger it indicates fully charged (I've even tried two external chargers).
I took it a part to see any physical damage, but did not see anything that stood out. Below are links to inner components and the motherboard/mainboard.

Can you help, and if it is a most likely unfixable, is there anyway of booting it via my PC, or an external device?
Thanks!

[Q] Hardware - Tablet power inlet - mod advice (Ampe A10 Quadcore)

Hi guys, this probably isn't specific to my tablet model.
I recently had issues with my tablet, Ampe A10 Quadcore; it was always showing that it was charging, even when unplugged. It eventually died completely but could also be charged via USB so it is not the end of the world. I'll keep it brief...
Basically, I have removed the inlet thingy, for the direct power, from the mainboard and it still says that it is charging. Have a look at the attachment and, if you can, please tell me what I need to do to get the unit to be in the state of 'discharging'.
I had a look at the thing that came off and I believe that (with my limited knowledge) 3 is ground, it had a pin going down the middle of the inlet; 2 and 4 are a gate (from the looks of what I pulled off) that detects when something is inserted, it must also take the - or +; and then 1 and 5 takes the other - or + and it just a solid connection that picks up the electricity on contact.
I need to know how to make a change so that it makes the status discharging and also what the best way of doing this is.
Thanks!

[Q] Question! Permanent Car Dashboard Project.

Hello Gentelmen,
I am rather new to android dev but seassoned in linux, i decided to convert my old phone (samsung admire) into an in dash computer.
I am using two basic applications:
* Torque OBD2 Connector: This connects to the car's OBD2 Port, reads the computer and displays information on screen (like HP, Torque, Manifold Pressure and temp, Boost ...... )
* Autoguard Blackbox: This app acts as a CCTV recorder taping my driving and saves it in case of accident so i can have video evidence.
I have modified the andoid system to open both applications on boot and on external power and to kill them when external power has been disconected. Also when external power is disconected phone will wait 5 minutes then go to sleep. (yes i realize there are apps for that but i like shellscript)
This means that when the key is turned and the car is on recording automatically begins and my gauges come up, when the car is off they close AND STOP RECORDING and go away without any kind of interaction on my part.
The problem: Whenever the car turns back on, external power is connected and i would like to have the phone do a full boot so that my scripts kick in,however instead it goes into charge only mode where it boots in to some kind of "hybernation state" that only displays the battery charge in the middle of the screen.
I would like to bypass this and have the phone do a full boot whenever the power is connected.
I have searched for weeks and have found nothing but people withthe same problem and solutions that involve harware and wiring and soidering however this is not an option for me because the phoen is exposed (not actualy insidethe dashboard)
I am not afraid to compile a custom rom and have it run on the phone ... the phoen is solely for the propose of having the dashboard display. (i dont use it for calling)
Could you guys point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] One day and still powered off...

Hi mates, yesterday I've made a change for 7 inch galaxy tab 2, 8GB, more specially the p3110, as well as I rooted it and updatet it and about 6am insomnia makes me take the tablet, So far so ordinary ...
well then turn it on and tells me that my sd is empty Nothing, I lost the data and I am about to make clear the sd, pretends to format and passed 15-20 secs it power off.
I get out of bed and went to connect it to the wall charger, knowing as sometimes if you leave the battery holding power and swiping your finger across the screen some time reappears stack and reloads it, I do it today that should have full charge and nothing, doesn't returns, when I connect it usb pc and when I do turn on the tablet it sounds windows connected usb sound and at the second connecting it disconnects device again, and there will end up pressing the button again
I removed the back cover and I have even removed the battery about 2 hours, reassembled and still doing the same ....
Summary: Does not display anything on the screen and battery charging even having tried the method "samsung" when this happens, (which only have it, with its official android I had to do it once, and recalibrate the battery even reach 4000 and mark its 100%, hence looked last longer and it was when the update and was working fine about 3 hours with it, no problem opening emails looking face and such, nothing out of the ordinary, there is no heat either, doesn't gave any fatigue sign and the battery was at 80% when It turned off suddenly), when you turn the computer connected to the usb nothing still while connecting a second and off the next, only once, until you return to try give the power or any combination, whether recovery, download, nothing shows anything on the screen
however when I connect it to pc to it hears something in windows, that tells me that the board is not dead, and the lcd was working ok and absolutely have any shot.
can you think of anything? I'm already crazy with this ... odin doesn't sees it, that connects the second and still sounds the little sound of I connect I get disconnected every time you try to pull it out, hopefully a recoverable semibrick at home or less silly ...
still nothing??

Tesco Hudl 2 boot

Hi all. I've been given a Tesco hudl 2 that has turned into a paper weight and basically tesco have washed their hands from it.
It has a common error 'No boot device. Hit ok' - but there is no response from screen or power/volume buttons to enter 'ok'
I plugged in a usb keyboard via OTG adapter and pressed enter which takes it to Boot Manager - with sub menu - Boot Options Menu
but there are no options to select and pressing enter just flashes the screen.
I have tried the factory hard reset option and doesnt work. Just turns on and turns off.
There is no charge light when plugged in, but does turn on to, again 'No boot device. Hit ok'
There is no adb access
I absolutely hate wasting tech and like to use them for other uses. Anything that can be done here?
Is the motherboard blitzed someway.
Anyway to flash a rom via SDcard or force some sort of bootloader access or recovery?
Can the rom be flashed with hardware directly on the chip (tho I don't have the equipment, just a query).
Its suppose to be a good enough IPS display with 1,920×1,200.
Ok now for the out of box ridiculous thinking. Can the mainboard be replaced with another brand of tablet with perhaps better specs.
Can these LCD panels interface with other systems at all, to perhaps a laptop via some sort of display board for a possible car project?
A lot of questions, but hope someone can shed some light. I love finding things out and fixing things, if possible.
Thanks

I have replaced a dead hudl2 charging port and battery all i am getting is a faint green light but not always. however still not booting any ideas please

How can I run Pixel 3 without the screen?

I'm attempting to run a google pixel 3 without the physical screen. The phone will be used in remote management, so I have a remote management utility installed on the device as well.
Everything works flawlessly when the screen is installed - all apps and configurations work as they are intended. However, once the screen is removed, the phone doesn't work. On a pixel 3a I was able to attach just a ribbon cable for the screen without the actual screen, and when I pulled it up in airdroid, it would only display a condensed screen about 1/3 the height. On the Pixel 3 it doesn't load up at all.
I've connected the phone to my computer with USB debugging enabled. Without the screen it shows up in the devices list. But with the screen it doesn't even show up in the devices list. The only way to make the phone operational is to remove the battery cable then restart the phone. About 30% of the time it displays a message upon boot "This device failed to boot, do you want to factory reset", with an option of "yes" and "reboot" (selectable through the volume and power buttons).
Also of interesting note, if I power on the phone without the digitizer connected, I can use AirDroid just fine, but it won't register my clicks on the remote view screen. Which leads to believe the phone is registering the hardware of the screen and digitizer upon boot.
If I disconnect the digitizer and LCD after the phone is booted up, I can attach them both and it'll work. It's just when they're disconnected from the phone during the initial boot phase.
I tested this with a Galaxy S8 previously, and that phone worked just fine without the screen attached, and ran fine that way.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to "register" the hardware correctly? I'm not certain that's what's happening, but it appears to be something with the hardware not registering correctly, or something like that. What's odd, is that it doesn't work even with the ribbon cables attached. It requires the full screen to be connected to the ribbon cables.
I've searched up and down google, but there doesn't appear to be much information available on this, as it appears to be a very specific problem which not many people encounter.
Thanks!
