Let me start by saying I do nto want to spend 20$ on Touchdown.
Has anyone used this email app for their corporate emails? I am just wondering how secure it is and how I would talk my director into letting is be used if it keeps getting blocked my gmail as coming from Israel? I did email their support and here is an answer I received.
Dear Customer,
Please login to your Gmail account from PC browser and see if there is a warning about suspicious login attempt. Allow access from our server.
The instructions are inside Google warning.
Then long press on account record on main application screen and choose Send / Receive.
This is not a hacking attempt - it is an attempt of our service to communicate with your account.
Emoze designed to work as client - server. We do not save any information on our servers. They work as smart routers only. All data transferred only when device connects to collect new mail through encrypted tunnel.
If you have additional questions do not hesitate to ask.
I do like some of the options it gives me in Emoze, such as the ability to be notified when i get an email in one of my folders that is under my inbox...I have many folders set and I have rules set to send emails to them, in the stock email app it will not send me a notification when I get emails to those folders.
So, my question is, what are your thoughts on this app and would you use it for work?
Why not use K9 mail with APG encryption?

How do I sign up?
1. Fill out the short form at www.consilient.com. It won't take long.
2. You will get an SMS on your mobile phone.
3. Click on the link in the SMS and complete the simple setup.
Why do I need to give you my mobile phone number?
We need your number so we can send you the SMS you need to set-up Consilient Push on your phone.
What is "push" email?
Push email is mobile email that is instantly delivered to your mobile phone giving you real-time access to your email when you're on the move. "Non-push" email solutions only poll your mailbox at intervals looking for new mail and then send it to your phone. Using a true push email solution, your mobile phone will always mirror your desktop mailbox.
How much does it cost?
Nothing, Consilient Push is a free service.
Why is it taking so long to sync my emails on my phone?
The more emails you have, the longer it takes to sync them with your phone.
Are there any additional costs?
The only additional costs are for a data plan from your network operator. You need a data plan to use Consilient Push on your mobile phone.
How do I get a data plan?
Contact your network operator and select one of their wireless data packages that best suits your needs.
Can I view attachments?
Yes, you can receive, forward, save, and view photos and other attachments with Consilient Push.
Can I use my existing email account?
Yes, Consilient Push supports all popular email platforms. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo!, any POP3 or IMAP4 account.
How many email accounts can I set up?
You can have up to 5 of your favorite email accounts pushed to your mobile phone.
When I travel, do I get charged for roaming?
Contact your network operator to find out about roaming fees.
What happens if I go out-of-coverage?
If connection is lost, Consilient Push will immediately bring all new emails to your mobile phone once a connection is restored, including anything that was received during downtime.
Is this a secure email service?
Yes, all data transmitted is encrypted via 128-bit industry standard SSL protocol. User information including your password is not stored on the Consilient Push server.

For Windows Mobile Devices [ Most Important on this forum ] ;-)
Windows Mobile
I've installed Consilient Push on my Smartphone 2003 device but there is no Push account available. Did the installation fail?
Smartphone 2003 devices require a separate utility to provision the Push account in Outlook (on all other platforms the CAB installer performs this step automatically). After the CAB is installed, a Push Setup application is available in the Start Menu. When run it will provision the account in Outlook, prompting for credentials if an SMS message with the credential information is not found. When this utility is completed, a Push account should be available within Outlook.
Can I add more than one account for Consilient Push?
At this time Consilient Push can only be set up to sync mail for a single account. The ability to sync multiple accounts is being considered for a future release.
What attachment types can be viewed by Consilient Push?
Users can open any attachment as long as their device has an application installed that can view that attachment type.
Inline attachments are not showing up in my message body, why?
In order to transfer as little data as possible and save data charges from your carrier, Consilient Push treats all attachments (inline and otherwise) the same and the attachment is only downloaded if the user chooses to retrieve it.
Is there a way to download a single attachment for a message instead of downloading all attachments for that message?
This functionality is not available at this time, but is being considered for a future release.
My phone already offers POP and IMAP access, why should I use Consilient Push?
POP and IMAP continuously poll the server to check for the existence of new email. Consilient Push differs in that new email is "pushed" to the device and very little overhead is used to keep the connection alive to the server between emails. This results in lower amounts of data being used and then in turn lower data charges to the user from their carrier. Consilient Push is a much more cost effective way of retrieving your email.
Why don't I see a "Consilient Push" icon on my start menu?
Since Consilient Push uses Windows Mobile's native Outlook interface we have not provided a "Consilient Push" icon at this time. Simply launch Outlook from your mobile device and select the "Push" account
Why is that when I go into account settings in Outlook and change the message download options (eg. Only download for the last 3 days, only download headers), it seems to have no effect.
At this time these settings are not supported by Consilient Push. By default the message header plus 2 kB of data is downloaded for each message. If you wish to change how many days worth of messages to have displayed on your device at a time then please contact Consilient support to have your account updated.
When I install on my PocketPC device a security warning displays indicating that the application in from an unknown publisher. What should I do?
Simply select "yes" to allow the application to install and you will not see this warning again. This does not happen on SmartPhone devices
Why do some messages seem to be cut short and the entire message not displayed?
In order to keep data charges to you as low as possible, Consilient Push only downloads the message headers plus 2 kB of the message body for each email. In order to view more of your message, from the message's menu select "Download Message" and the next 1 kB of the message body will be download. This can be repeated as many times as desired or until the entire message has been downloaded.
Why do I need to tell Consilient Push to download the attachments I want to view? Can I have all attachments downloaded by default?
In order to prevent excessive data charges from your carrier, Consilient Push only downloads attachments requested by the user. This cannot not be changed at this time.
I'm currently with Fido, and have this nice setup where all my G-Mail gets sent directly to my Fido e-mail; and my fido mail gets sent to my phone via SMS. With an unlimited incoming plan this is a cheap way to stay up to date with you e-mails.
Does the free version send you loads of spam ad's?i hear it does

I think it adds a footer message to your outgoing email. I haven't seen any spam incoming, however, they claim they will be releasing a new stand alone client which I am expecting will have banner ads or something, hopefully we wont be FORCED to upgrade to that client, but who knows.
Ok thanks ill give it a go
thank you dear for your great help jeasbe

The Pleasure is Mine Hussain !
Hi all
I did a search but it came up with nothing which I thought was odd
What Spam programs are you guys using to controll spam on you Topaz/TD2
I dont want to waste my limited data connection on downloading Spam
Cheers porridge
good one porridge!
no probs on outlook but on TD2, it is a disaster!
what do you guys recommend?
I too would be interested in this as the delete from server function doesn't seem to work properly either like it did on my old Kaiser, deletes it first time round but on subsequent send/receive they're all retrieved again!
hello...bump
Hi People
Most people filter their mail for spammage within their mail hosting environment - For example, I synchronise from Googlemail (using IMAP4) and Google filter the crud for me, and from an Exchange Server, where the mail gets passed through Websense hosted email first. However you do the filtering, you need to do it either on the mailbox or before it gets to your mailbox (better). Any Spam filter on the WinMo would have to retrieve the message to rate it and either burn it or deliver it, leaving you no better off.
If you can advise on how your current email is received (from exchange/pop3/imap4 e.t.c.) and if its a personal, corporate or hosted mail service, I may be able to advise how best to approach it.
As Digital.Diablo is saying...
You should have your mails filtered before they reach your device.
I have a hotmail account and an exchange server account syncronized with my TD2, and I don't get any spam on either account.
- well, maybe one on very rare occations, but nothing to write home about.
On my hotmail account, Microsoft is doing the filtering for me and on the exhange one, some spam-filter-software installed on the server itself is doing it's job...
Hello
I like the email client that comes with android (the one for accessing secondary email accounts). It does seem to have a major limitation though, you can not move mail around to different folders (e.g. lets say an important message ended up in my spam folder by accident, I can not see any way to move that message to the inbox)
If this is in fact possible could someone please tell me how to do it, but if it is not (which from what I can tell this is the case) can someone recommend an email app that supports this function.
Thank You
***UPDATE***
Yes I am using the vanilla/AOSP email app being that I am running cm6
The email account that I am connecting to is my AOL account. I am not 100% certain but I thought AOL uses IMAP.
So I guess the new questions are 1) does AOL use IMAP and 2)does the AOSP email app allow you to move emails between folders
If what you are accessing is a POP3 account, then I believe no email client permits you do do this (as this sounds like a sync function only found in IMAP accounts).
What I found to work best (and easiest) is to have my alternate email accounts foward all my mail to my gmail account, and have my gmail account tag each email with the name of the incoming account (hotmail emails are taged hotmail, etc.).
This lets me recieve all my email with one single app (Gmail), provides me with push notifications for every email, permits me to sync emails effortlessly, an so on.

I'd think that any email client can do it, but I personally use K9 Mail and love it, and it certainly does this.
As the above poster says, if you're using POP this might not be possible. IMAP it certainly is. You should not being using POP anyway.
Don't know about the vanilla android one but I know the HTC Email program will let you move between folders.
Stock mail app with a POP account. Incoming server settings are set NEVER on "Delete email from server"
Mail app does not delete the messages when they are downloaded from the server, but once a message is deleted on the phone, on the next refresh of the POP account, those messages are deleted on the server. The messages stay in the trash folder for the POP Account on the device.
This is the first time I've ever had this behavior with a POP account with any mail client (mobile or desktop) and I don't like it. Is there a way to disable this? It's basically requiring me to keep read messages on the device for enough time that I can guarantee my other devices have downloaded them, and I like to keep that POP account cleaned out on the device. It's rather annoying not being able to immediately delete those messages. This is a behavior I expect from IMAP, not POP. And no, I can't switch to IMAP as it's not offered with this account and I don't want to forward it elsewhere or process it through GMail.
Also, I can't pull down to refresh when in combined inbox view. I have 2 Exchange accounts and 1 POP account configured. Is this normal? First time I'm using a Nexus device with Google's e-mail app so wondering if pre-KitKat devices behave this way.
We have 4 android tablets and 2 android phones in the household. All of them are synced with my gmail account. I'm wanting a messeger app that doesn't rely on sms or logging in with email account. I want to be able to message my kids while they are playing on they're tablet.
Almost all messengers I can think of require either a phone number or an email address. I wish there were username based messengers too.
If you don't mind using an email address to set it up once, then you could set up BBM on each device. You will have to use a unique email ID for setting up each device. Once set up the email address will never be required again to log in unless you change your device, and adding each device to each other's contact list will be via BBM pin.
