I bought China made BBK Vivo XPlay model X510t which is running on TD-SCDMA. My country is using wcdma and thus I have problem with 3G. I successfully rooted my phone and replaced the Vivo XPlay X510w ROM. With the new ROM, all phone features running well but the phone still running on TD-SCDMA.
May I know in what way, I can get it changed to WCDMA?
Your valued advice is very much appreciated.
Thx/ Jim
Yeah you'll have to return it to seller and ask for a WCDMA version. There's no way around that.

Nope. Snapdragon 600. Still it have TD-SCDMA modem and i don't think there's really a way around it. Only replace it with WCDMA model.

like xiaomi mi3, this phone come with 2 versions, one is wcdma, another one is td-scdma, td-scdma only works in china. both versions are equipped with snapdragon 600. unless there is a way to flash radio @ baseband like nexus, lg @ samsung phones, i cannot see any possiblities to change it.

wcdma&scdma
Hello everybody,
This is my first message.
I have the same problem with a Jiayu F1. The mobile runs with MTK 6572 chip and it supports both base band, therefore, i am sure that is a software trouble.
I have installed the WCDMA ROM and I lose the IMEI and the radio identification file.
Is there any possibility to unlock of the last option (OEM-specific info/setings) of Phone Information showed by MobileUncleTools? I think that the solution is here hidden.
Thanks...

I have lenovo golden warrior s898tp it is also td-scdma and mtk chipset
That is mtk 6592 using mtk uncle but it doesot show option only show td-scdma bands
What can i do
I have a solution, but it demands our collective efforts. Both MTK and snapdragon 600, 410 MSM 8916 has capability to process the WCDMA frequencies, but the phone makers disabled the function. Radio flash of the chips will enable the 3G, 4G mode of WCDMA. So lets work and see if there would be a simple way to do that. If you got answers whatsapp me on +2348064782500

Ok so I bought this phone online without knowing much about frequencies and such.
Now I have it and I'm unable to use anything other than edge service! I freaking love this phone but the poor connection leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
The phone supports bands 1, 3, 5, 7, & 17. And LTE 1800mah & 2600mah frequencies.
Is it possible to get my phone to accept USA frequencies?
Thanks for all input in advance!
AT&T uses band 2,4,5 and 17. I am using F350 on band 17 just fine.
Thanks for your reply.
I have the d838 model.

Band 17 is the main AT&T LTE band. I don't believe the D838 can connect to Band 17 LTE700.
LTE Lost on D838 LG G Pro 2
Can any one tell me why the option of LTE/4G has lost?
How can I restored it?
I never Root my phone, my last Android Version is D83810f.
Thank you,

I have 10f Version on it and no Option 4g.
With 10e have 2g/3g/4g
Install the 4G Switch app from the playstore and you'll be able to enable the 4G/LTE. With this app you can even change the GSM/UMTS band (Auto, Euro, USA, Japan, AUS)
or
Enter this 5457#*838# into dialer (which will get you to the service menu) from where you can enable the 4G/LTE .
Lte works with 10f with this trick 5457#*838#,but when you go in the settings 2g/3g switched lte automatic off,you must go back to 5457#*838# and turn on the lte, this is not good.
I go back today to 10e and in the settings have 2g/3g/4g and no must go back in the hidden menu.
Sorry for my bad English,i hope you understand me.

Hi,i found a Trick,delete or copy to Sd Card LteConfig.apk and LteConfig.odex in System/app.
You have 2/3/4g in settings.
Your Phone must be rooted!
On next reboot goes this automatic on 2/3g,but you can go manualy on 2/3/4g

I may have some bad news for you. ?
You can't change the modem bands on these tablets because the actual modem firmware on the chip prevents the other bands on the ROM from passing the security check. So the US bands will load regardless of the fact you have the global ROM loaded.
I'm in Australia, facing the same issue. I just flashed the US WiFi ROM so it cripples the modem stack and use my Nexus 5 to tether.
hi guys..
im from Malaysia and also have problem with this..
i bought it from local seller and its (US) AT&T model...so i cant use it with my local line..

Good day all, hope I'm on the right place/post here.
Wondering if someone can help, I've purchased a Xperia XA F3113 via Amazon from SA.
Phone works 99.9%, the other 0.01% is my issue.
To start with all the settings are set to LTE(Preferred)/WCDMA/GSM, my carrier Vodacom has sent and verified that my sim is LTE activated (Used the same sim on other phones with LTE present)
Here's everything I did to resolve the problem....
1- Phone came from USA with android 6 and no LTE signal just 3g (In a 4G environment)
2- Vodacom sent settings and confirmed. did not work
3- Spoke to Sony and they suggested I upgrade software
4- Upgraded software via Sony Companion to Nougat Android 7
5- Vodacom re-send the LTE settings still no luck.
6- If I search the mobile networks it only finds 3g-Vodacom, 2g-Vodacom, MTN, Cell C NO LTE on any network. Screen shot Attached....
7- Think I've reached Google's end of their information network (searched everything)
OK so now I'm thinking I want to flash/re-install ROM/Firmware with SA (South African) settings due to different Base band versions.
I came across a link but are not allowed to post it yet due to my 1ste post on you're site. But the ink only have the "(F3112_1302-4393_33.3.A.0.127-R1B_Customized_SA.ftf)" for model F3112 dual sim and apparently it wont work on the F3113 single sim....
Google this: 2017/06/xperia-xa-android-7-0-nougat-firmware
Can Anyone maybe help or have some suggestions except for returning the phone.....?
Thnx

Hi, I think that it will not solve your problem. Did not you asked yourself why Sony sell 3 differents single sim device (F3111, F3113 and F3115)?
Look here and "Networks":
http://www.xperiablog.net/specifications/2016-xperias/xperia-xa/
And if I look here Vodacom SA uses LTE B3 for 4G:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/carriers/vodacom-south-africa
To confirm your problem if you look here you will see that only F3111 and F3115 will have 4G on Vodacom SA:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/carr...eria+XA+&q[device_brand_id_eq]=&commit=Search
Be careful next time you buy a device

You can try but it will probably brick your device or Flashtool will not let you flash it (never tested). Firmwares are not unified probably for a good reason. Maybe an other user can confirm if it works or not

I don't want to break your hopes but the problem is not your network provider so changing some lines in build.prop will not enable LTE Band 3 on your device. It's a modem feature (or maybe related to modem firmware if you are lucky) so it's on the hardware side of your phone. You can try but I know the result The better way is to know if modem chips are same on all XA Single Sim and, if yes, try to flash the modem firmware from a F3111 or F3115.
Cool, will investigate and try that. Thank a lot

Flashing ROMs from F3111 or F3115 to F3113 is not a good idea. Like @rrvuhpg said it can brick your device. My advice is to send it back and ask for different model (if they have it, because you have warranty). There is also a possibility to change just baseband, but I don't have expirience in extracting baseband. I remember that when I used Huawei G510 I flashed MIUI rom with Chinese baseband and then developer added one small .zip file to flash it for other regions and it worked (but I changed that ROM because it takes too much resources for a that phone). So try contacting some senior developer or google for it, but do this if you can't change your phone, because you will lose warranty if you root phone.
Thank you guys I will definitively try some of you're advice's, thanks again....... Will give feedback asap. have a good one..
Hey Guys!
So I have just gotten an S7 (930S) and apparently, there is a mismatch between the bands present in the phone and the one offered by my network. I would like to know if I flash 930F modem on my phone would that be ok or not? I just want to flash the modem as well as the CSC of the 930F model. I hope someone can take the timeout to reply to my query.
Thanks

Yes you can, hardware is the same. However when you talk about network bands I assume your talking about the difference between networks using GSM and networks using CDMA? In which case you need to flash firmware which uses CDMA radios.

Well, when I am talking about Bands I am talking about the frequencies in which they operate. For example, my network offers the UMTS 900 frequency, but that frequency is missing from my current modem.
Therefore, I am assuming that if I flash the 930F model's modem, which does supoort the UMTS 900 frequency, I will be able to operate on the UMTS 900 frequency. Can you confirm me on that?
Or will I have to flash the 930F firmware on my phone to operate on the UMTS 900 frequency?
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Yes 930F will work and install the radios you require.
The problem I am facing right now is that although the modem (Shannon335) on my phone (G930S - Korean) is the same as that on the international model (930F). But my phone (G930S) does not support one of the bands that my network supports which is UMTS 900 and that band is supported on the international version , although hardware wise (both are Shannon335) they are both the same.
So, I was thinking if i change my modem, currently its a South Korean modem and flash the international version modem could it work and make the band work for me?

Yes it should work
Thank You very much.
I would also like to know how should I choose and which modem to flash on my phone. Which things should I match and what to avoid during the flashing process. I have currently U1 security level modem, so when I flash another modem should it be U1 level as well?

To avoid problems you must match the modem to the version of firmware you are using, so yes U1 to U1. Flash the modem separately via Odin
