I have the solution!!!
I just downloaded Wiimote Controller from the market and can now use my Wii controller to play NES games and SNES games on my X10. Woot!
I tested out Contra and Mike Tyson's Punchout and they both worked flawlessly using the Wii remote as a controller (Saw video of SNES games being played). This may not be the best solution for our phones(Obviously MT would be great but meh) But it is a damn good substitute.
If any has or wants to download this to try out games on a PSX emulator or any other emulator you may have that would be awesome!
Cheers!

P.S. I did a search to make sure nothing similar was posted and found nothing in this forum. If it's old news sorry!
It is pretty neat to be able to use a wii mote to play games, but it just feels wrong when your controller is bigger than the screen haha. And when i'm playing a game on the train there is no where to put the phone to use the wii mote. Unless you set it on your lap then you get major neck cramps staring down at your legs.
Now if you could rig something to clip the wii mote onto the phone that would be cool.
How about PS3 controller?
Though PS3 controllers are bluetooth I don't think they could ever sync with the phone as they only pair through the usb cable, while the wii-mote pairs wirelessly.
? once you've paired the Wiimote with your x10... can you still use it on the Wii without having to re-pair it with the wii??

Good question, I don't know my Wii doesn't want to work right now.
After pairing it with my phone, then quitting the game and turning the wiimote off I pushed the power button on my wiimote and the Wii turned on
Lol too many wiis in that statement.

Hi, Im wondering if it is possible to use a gaming controller, such as the phonejoy or other xbox, wii etc with the gameloft games on the Xoom?
Since these games dont have the ability to switch off the on-screen controls I was curious if there is an app or similar which will allow me to play for example Dungeon Hunter 2 HD on the xoom with a controller.
YES YES YES
Look for a cable that specifically states OTG or host. If you go on ebay and search "micro host otg" almost every result will work. Downside is that they're all shipping from China, so it takes ~2 weeks to get here.
then use and emulator of course a few good ones are: Nesoid, Gensoid, and the Super Nintendo emulators
remember to thank me....
DIDNT REALIZE YOU SAID GAMELOFT GAMES THE ANSWER IS NO THEN BUT YOU CAN USE IT WITH EMULATORS SO I GUESS YOU COULD GET THE PS2 EMULATOR AND PLAY THAT WAY
Hey, I am looking to get a bluetooth game controller for transformer to play old console games on. Can anyone recommend me a good one? I would also like to use it with my Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks
A ps3 controller with the sixaxis app works well, or a wired xbox360 controller (wireless works with adapter too) Both should work on ICS.
I use a wii remote. Use wiimote from google play to sync. App is free

PS3 controller w/ SixAxis app FTW.
I play FFVII, Megaman Legends, Parappa Tha Rappa and a few other PS1 games on my tablet w/ it.
I also play shadowgun and GTAIII w/ it as well.
How are the PS3 controller and Wii controller with the Genesis and Nintendo ROMs?

I did have the Genesis emulator on my phone. I don't think I ever tried it w/ a controller, but I can tomorrow and report back.

Cool, thanks. My goal is to get a controller that works with as many emulators possible. Would be pretty sweet to be playing all the old classics again on a portable device.
What does everyone here use for a gamepad/controller? Wired or wireless? How do you like it?
I'm specifically interested in a setup for nes & snes that isn't too costly.

If you have a Wii, the WiiMote works great. Even better if you have the classic controller. It doesn't even need to be supported by the emulator, perse. You can set it up as an input device, so it'll work with any game that supports key input.
Just my pc connected with hdmi to tv + a set of 5.1 speakers + xbox 360 controller wireless
I use a PS3 controller for N64 games on my gaming computer, surface pro, and android devices. I usually use it wired, but I have used it wireless before. I'm not sure how much PS3 controllers cost since I got my PS3 about a year after they came out, but it works well if you can deal with the windows drivers if you want to use it with windows.
I use ps3 controller as well with the app forget the name. Works well with most games some require that analog input feature which can be sketchy sometimes. I used that with my old g2x with HDMI for PlayStation games. And Chrono trigger on SNES. Haven't put anything and my nexus though. Not much of a gamer anymore.

I'm testing out the Moga Pro right now. Early returns are it isn't worth the money.
And in case it want clear, my question was for playing the ROMs directly on the nexus 4.

I use the GameKlip with PS3 controller and SixAxis app. I put that set-up together the first week I got my N4 and have been using to play NES, SNES, GBA, N64 and PSX emulators with no issues. Its worked perfectly for me, especially since PS has the best gamepad for fighting games.
I was using a ps3 controller and a stand I bought. But I got tired of having to keep putting it on the stand. I went and bought a moga hero two weeks ago. The price is a killer and works alright. L2 and R2 doesn't work on epsxe. Fits in pocket nicely.
I'm using a Moga Pocket for emulator stuff.
I got a impulse controller from kickstarter but after waiting so long for it, I bought the Moga.
The impulse controller arrived like 2 days later
I use this...

I will have my portable shield in half a month so I'm preparing stuff... I wanted to know which are the best emulators for this device. I will mainly use it for this thing. From NES to whatever more I can. And one more question, I know that you can stream a game from PC to the Shield. Is it possible to stream a video?
Noone huh?
Retroarch has a ton of emulators built in from nes to psx, Reicast is a dreamcast emulator (the older version from the play store lags less), Robert Broglias emus from play store used to work great but since the latest shield update they lag, so stick with Retroarch unless you want to root and then change your cpu governor. Mupen64plus AE and n64oid are good n64 emulators but n64oid is outdated. DraStic is the best DS emulator. FPSE and ePSXE are good psx emulators but the one in Retroarch is better. PPSSPP is a good psp emu just make sure you download a nightly build.
