[Q] How to Fix SMSC after trying everything on forums? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi All,
I just recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 (I535) Last night. I'm running a Straight Talk AT&T sim card. MMS is working perfectly, Data is working perfectly (although stuck on edge with the HSPA+ block verizon likes to put on their phones), and phone calls are not a problem. I'm having a problem with sending out SMS messages. I've tried everything so far on the forums with regards to the PDU. When i hit refresh from the Phone screen the +131.... number is correct, I enter the 0791311...Number, hit update and I always get an update error every time. I've tried going through GoSMS and Chomp, with nothing working.
Here's the ROM I'm Working with:
Build Number: Illusion_d2vzw-userdebug 4.3 JLs36G
eng.AndrolinRoot.20131010.134951 test-keys
Kernel Version: 3.4.56-cyanogenmod-g77d2f5d
[email protected] #1
Andriod Version: 4.3
Baseband VersionL I535VRBMF1.
Any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks

And just for some additional info, my SG3 is Verizon Branded. When I go into About Phone>Status, my phone number is listed as unknown and it says Network is Verizon Wirelss, even though I clearly registered with AT&T under Mobile Network Operators

This worked for me, at least as far as data goes - in the same place where you choose network operators, choose the option for "access point names" then, when there, if there is no option for Telus, try pressing the menu button and clicking the option for "new APN" then in the fields enter the following:
- Name : TELUS
- APN: sp.telus.com
- Proxy: 74.49.0.18
- Port: 80
And then press the menu button again, hit save, and click the APN out of the list to connect.
That helped when I couldn't connect to Koodo, and they're the same network.
Hope this helps!

Hi, Did you manage to find a solution. I have a Nexus S 9020T and been using it fine under Fido/Rogers (WIthout 3G). Now that I moved swapped SIM to TELUS. it won't detect the TELUS network or connect to any. Any help would be appreciated.
Seeing how it says no radio you probably have to flash a radio for the i9020a, most likely UCKF1.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Provider: TELUS
version: 4.0.3
Baseband: I9020XXKI1
Build: IML74K
Phone was working perfectly fine before the switch to Telus. Even after reinserting the Fido SIM, phone will not connect to network.
Please assist.
My dads with telus... put his sim in my phone and no service but my rogers sum is still working fine... weird :S

[Q] Help required - Nexus S i9020

I bought this Nexus S, i9020. It's just a couple of days old. Had ICS 4.0.4 and when connected to WiFi, phone started downloading latest system update. Installed the update quickly. The battery however, started draining too quickly after the update.
My problem or nightmare started when I tried to revert or downgrade this cellphone to Gingerbread 2.3.6, because I read that on GB, this phone's battery lasted for more than a day.
Anyhow, when I downloaded this One_Step_Click guide for downgrading to GB 2.3.6, the phone actually downgraded, but to my utter surprise, it has downgraded to Sprint Nexus S 4G, the phone now shows following:
Model number: Nexus S 4G (which it's not, its Nexus S i9020)
Android version: 2.3.4
Baseband version: Unknown
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-ge382d80
Build number: GRJ22
The phone has lost the GSM signal, although SIM is still in the SIM slot. I can still connect to WiFi and connect to my Google account.
FYI, i am using Ufone GSM network here in Karachi, Pakistan.
Need urgent help in restoring my Nexus S to its original state to be able to use on GSM network.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks.
Seems like you are actually messed up. So you want Gingerbread 2.3.6 on your NS, right?
Just confirm me one thing, is it I9020T or I9020A? I'll be easily able to help you then

I am facing a similar issue (in Pakistan) and can't seem to find the right baseband/radio. I tried almost all radios at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884 but the problem remains - I get very very low signals (my SIM works fine on other phones). Any PM for me as well

basically my problem was, I flashed 10.1 a few days ago...lost all services of any kind except data. I got a new sim...no luck..odin'd back to stock...then dialed a *# number and was able to get roaming data and voice even though my IMEI was showing as zero. Repair the imei via a tool here however i've been stuck roaming since. I'm back on CM 10.1 and have selected those options you selected.

MEID (all zeroes)
ERI not displayed in this version, however it is showing as none in stock
IMEI repaired...not sharing this info

I did everything imaginable to fix this, finally was about to give up and just use the insurance...then I noticed someone link the 'XDA Samsung Repair Utility' guide earlier with a download and instructions...it restored my eri, my meid, and my imei...and now I Have 4g, no roaming everytnhing working perfect...super pumped.

Can Not Send/Receive Calls or Send Texts

To begin, i had been on the same Hyperdrive Rom for several months before my phone died over night and when i turned it on i was able to receive text messages and send texts for several minutes before i experienced delivery failed on every text message. I tried to make a phone call, but it would constantly "dial" but never ring. When trying to call my cell number from a different phone, it would go straight to voicemail. Currently, i can receive texts but not send them and i can not call or receive calls. Also, i can use 4g and WIFI just fine. The only issues are calling and sending texts.
I searched the forums and google for a solution and discovered that my IMIE was 0 and my ERI said "None". Using QPST i was able to manually input my IMIE back into my phone so it now reads correctly as the number that is listed behind my battery but the ERI still says "None" and i am having the same issues, nothing was fixed.
I continued to search for alternative solutions and came across a "Reprovision" trick but i could not find a stock rom old enough that was compatible with the *2767*3855# trick. Apparently, it has to be VRALF2, VRLG1 or VRLG7 and the links i have found here are all to hotfile.com which is shut down.
I came across a "Samsung MEID Repair Tool" that had apparently been on these forums but was removed, i followed the instructions (i would post link but i have not made enough posts to list outside links) but I could not get that repair tool to work because the radio of the oldest ROM i flashed was too updated.
The oldest Stock ROM i was able to download through ODIN successfully was:
Android Version: 4.1.1.
Baseband Version: 1535VRBLK3
My phone status looks like this:
Network: Verizon Wireless
Service State: In Service
Roaming: Not Roaming
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
ERI Version: None
IMEI: (Correctly showing the same number as the number behind the battery)
IMEISV: 00
Can anyone direct me to a link to a stock VRALF2 VRLG1 or VRLG7 Odin ROM so i can attempt the reprovision trick or get the Repair Tool to work or suggest steps for me to take to get my phone working again?
Thank you for any and all help.

LTE and 3G not working anymore on G930T

Hello guys,
I got a Samsung Galaxy S7-G930T T-Mobile, and since yesterday, 4g and 3g aren't working anymore and my phone is showing 2g only...
I have already checked the settings and it is on LTE/3G/2G, and I have also checked the APN settings and they are good..
I have done a factory reset = didn't work
I have reinstalled the firmware = didn't work either..
I have checked if it was the SIM card problem by testing it on another 4g phone, and 4g worked perfectly..
The problem on my phone is that when i'm trying to force 3g only or 4g only, I lose all the signal (i can't even make phone calls) until I use 2g again..
So the problem is that my phone isn't supporting 3g or 4g anymore but only 2g..
Phone model number: SM-G930T
Android version : 7.0
Baseband version: G930TUVU4BQG5
Build Number : NRD90M.G930TUVU4BQG5
Thank you guys for helping me..
were u able to resolve it. i'm in a similar situation
