Hello, has anyone seen the original HTC car kit, made by Herbert Richter, for Diamond? I wish to buy one cos I had one for my Touch cruise and it's very good in quality.
Cheers!
something like it
looks nice.
now to find someone who sells them
I bought the Gripper 3 from HR Richter with holder Global 9
I now have a E-ten M700 with original holder, the back and sides of the phone now have scratches because of the holder.
So if you want to protect you're phone against scatches buy a universal holder,
and every time you buy another phone you don't have to buy another holder.

I want to buy Herbert Richter GRIPPER 3 for the diamond but can anyone suggest which kind of arm buy? I have a Toyota Yaris and the windscreen it's far away from driver...
i think this one it's ok: Herbert Richter GLOBAL 2 Banana Suction Mount but it's sufficient long ?
the other two are: Herbert Richter GLOBAL 4 Rotating Tower Suction Mount
Herbert Richter Gooseneck Suction Mount
gooseneck can be long enough but what about vibrations ??

Linda, this is what we call BAD timing from a manufacturer point of view.
Your team's were not aware about this upcoming product
It would take me 10 days to make a mold in Guangzhou, so I guess you're having other issues @ brodit no?
So, Proclip, or holdmyphone.com will neither obtain the holder as they buy from Brodit SE ?
I paid 106 USD for a Brodit Honda CRV clip + holder for my TytnII, and I do not complaint about the fricking price for 2 pieces of plastic , but at least I and many others hope on a good - quick - service.
Just my two cents.
I've the Universal carkit of HTC. I sale him. So contact me with a pm!!

Guys,
This Herbert Richter holder comes without the arm right?
Can this holder be used with the arm that comes with the P3300/Cruise? (It's from Germany, and I don't know the name)
Coz I have P3300 arm which I used for the Cruise as well (just changed the holder). Really good arm, and I wish to continue using it with the diamond.
Thanks!
Hi,
Has anyone purchased a car mount for their desire?
My Desire should hopefully arrive tomorrow and I'm trying to get some accessories for it! The car kit is fairly essential, I have the bluetooth radio that supports A2DP so I'm very excited!
Could anyone recommend a decent car mount?
I have a suction one for my N95 but I think I'd rather one that clips into one of the vents.
I`m waiting for Brodit to release one for the desire, supposed to be soon.
I used their active kit for my G2/Hero and its good. Easy to fit into your car, took 5mins, you have to buy depending on your make/model and where you want it mounted.
Look at the 'Desire Accessories':
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/trailblazer-universal-car-charger-and-holder-p22954.htm
Had it for several days... its cheap £9.99 and holds the phone and charges it as well! Delivery is megaquick too.
I read somewhere that the nexus one brodit is supposed to work with the desire - who's brave enough to try it now!?

Brodit have told me its imminent and to check the website for release (dsldevelopments dot com) within 14 days.
I've used them for years, just replacing the holder on the mount for each new phone.
MOD EDIT - Moved to Accessories forum
Hi,
I was really suprised when tried my old brodit holder for iphone 3G - its almost ideally fitted for Desire too No need to buy new one, hurrey!

Ask brodit theyre fast at resonding. I`d say it might not work as the connections might not align up. I`d try and wait a few weeks for the desire one
to appear.

I emailed them and they said it wouldnt fit due to the clearance being 0.1mm
We're out of stock of Nexus One - but we get some I will test it.

Really liked the look of this but I have an Audi A3 and the car cigarette lighter is housed within the ashtray about 3 inches from the outer dashboard. I doubt the trailblazer will fit.
Also it looks like the holding parts would go right over the volume controls on the Desire like it does on the HD2.
MINI WEIGHTED CUSHION FRICTION MOUNT with UNIVERSAL HOLDER for MOBILES SMART PHONES MP3 (SKU 5043)
I have just ordered this one for my desire, wanted something that wasnt a sucker mount and I dont like the airvent mounts, I also wanted something that meant that I could turn the desire from horizontal to vertical very easily without having to dismantle the device or struggle in doing so, lastly I wanted something that meant I could easily fit into another car quickly if i needed it, found this and it seems to fit the bill nicely, I have read up on the reviews on this mount with a garmin attatchment and they have all come back hugely favourable, love the fact that if i wanted to add another phone to the mount in the future all i have to do is to buy another back plate instead of the entire mount. was sceptical at first haven never seen a friction dash mount before but after reading the reviews and watching the video on the link i have provided and it only being £18.32 inc delivery i thought why not, will post up when i have received it and let you know how it is
buybits.com/product.aspx?id=5043
I have ordered the Nexus Brodit mount and it in fact does not fit as the Desire is 0.5mm wider and thicker.
So i have now ordered the Desire one from morpethmobiles.co.uk and should be receiving early next week so will post some pics

As I have said here, I think they may be selling the Nexus mount as the Desire mount.
i suspect that aswell because i talked to brodit directly 3/4 days ago and they said it should take at least 2 weeks for the holder to be available.
<START RANT>
It annoys me some shops are selling Nexus accessories as Desire ones - like this dock and also Clove are marketing the Proporta Alu Leather case for both the Nexus and the Desire.
If Brodit and Proporta think it necessary to redesign their accessories to fit the Desire, shops shouldn't be selling the Nexus versions as if they were designed for the Desire. I am sure Brodit and Proporta would have been delighted if their existing accessories would fit as they would increase their market without all the new R&D costs.
I would be very annoyed if I bought something as designed specifically for the Desire, only to find in a few weeks that the manufacturer had brought out a version that really was designed just for the Desire.

hi folks!last night i was looking around the web for a Car dock for my n1,and i found there are not many that hook on the dashboard (hate to have it on my windscreen, blocks the view).
I even looked for the Google official c.d, but it appears they are not selling it any more or not available for Greece
Could you experienced folks tell me which dashboard N1 holders are good? Are you using any?
thanx
would you recommend this one?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AIO-PREMIUM-HOLDER-CHARGER-GOOGLE/dp/B003AIND30/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280068626&sr=8-1
http://www.amazon.com/Type-AC30267-60-XGrip-Universal-Holder/dp/B001PRPBB0
was using one of these until i upgraded to the HTC Car Dock worked pretty well
i looked for the HTC one,but it's out of stock almost everywhere,or it will be too expensive
i m looking for a cheap system,preferably maximum 30euros(around $60 i think)
i was thinking of looking for a "flexible neck" adapter,so that i can only change that,as my dad uses that for his GPS device
its a last resort, but i doubt i can find anything mountable on dashboard, and due to my car's vents( colt cz3) i dont know how compatible them "vent mountable" holders will be
i checked in proclip site but they didnt list my car
nexus one mounts
this site has a cool selections on car mounts check it out. http://www.amzer.com/HTC/HTC-Nexus-One-accessories.htm
I have had i-phones forever until i found the amazing N1 - I always used a cheap 30 dollar car mount for my Iphones and when i bought the N1 i found that if fits damn nicely into the iphone 3g mount for this specific dock.
The dock is a
Griffin windowseat that i bought at best buy - it fits snugly in what is intended for iphone 3g. I use it daily and would recommend it - i trimmed the ghost armor i have on the phone on all 4 corners where the dock holds the phone.
here is a link if you want - i mount mine just under the rear-view mirror!
Best buy
Android newbie here, hello
I'm waiting for my Sensation to arriwe and I've tried to find webshop which sells charcheable car holder designed for Sensation, but haven't found one yet I've previously used Brodi's holder with my N900, but they don't have one for Sensation yet.
Any good ideas where to point my browser? Thanks in advance

HTC has it´s own charging car dock for this phone, as a original accessory, so get one from a htc dealer.

I also mailed to Brodit Sweden asking info about Sensation holder, but got no reply yet. Brodit would be the best solution for me as I don't want to stick anything to the windshield and don't want to drill any screws to my car's interior. I also have the car specific adapter for my car already where I can mount any brodit holder.
Brodit is of course a good choice too, specially if you have the base part already installed.
Dock for my nexus came with the kind of sticky platter to be placed on the dashboard, to which the suction cup took it's contact. It was quite good solution too.
The Brodit mount I had for my HD2 was perfect and I will wait for the sensation one as I have the car mount already and just need the phone mount.
I sit mine in my old HD2 mount for now... but cant wait for it to released!

I don't currently own a Sensation, but isn't the charger connection on the side of the phone? How's that gonna look/work? Having the phone in landscape is not something i would be fond of.
The brodit clip+holder for the HD2 still works like a charm for me. Hope the sensation one will be just as good, since it's kinda holding me from getting one now.

Just look on brodit for the Active Holder for HTC Wildfire S
That's how it will looks for the sensation
That's a bit of a bummer, just doesn't look good :x
Well, Brodit passive holder for the Sensation has been launched, so I'm guessing active holder won't be far behind.

I'll be driving around South Africa for a month next October and want to use my Desire as a GPS navigator. Don't yet know what car I'm going to be renting and even if I did, the rental company could easily give me a different (but similar) one when I get there. Can anyone suggest a reliable holder which I can use with a charger connected? I'm guessing that one which sticks to the windscreen would be a safer bet because it's more universal than an air-vent version but not sure if the phone will overheat. Looking for something sturdy that doesn't let the phone vibrate too much.
Thanks.

Buy a cheap one, no more than 5 bucks. Every single car holder is made from poor quality plastic.

There are 2 kinds of holders first choose the one you want then look it up on Ebay or Clove.
Active e.g. search google for Brodit Active Holder - HTC Desire
Passive e.g. search google for Brodit Passive holder with tilt swivel - HTC Desire
