Great ! DJ' kitkat is here

Please follow the OP installation directions. Only tested with PA's 4.4 gapps, Flash SuperSu if you want root, and i would also install busybox after first boot. Its still a early build but enjoy

Sweet! I am glad to see your contributing with KitKat as well. I love the CM10.2 Kang you have been doing so I am sure I will love your work here. Thanks!

very nice rom

Its a issue with the launcher itself its not optimized for a tablet yet. Been using nova no issues.

Wonderful do you think it is necessary to wipe data if we are coming from your 4.3 ROM?

Love your CM Kanged builds, this is going to be good, will report back.

This 4.4 bad boy is running great for an initial release! Thank you DJ!

I would definitely recommend it. This rom is almost completely stock compare to his other rom.

Running this now pretty sweet

Installing now, your 4.3 was great. I'm sure this will be too.

Thnks for giving us 4.4 If I understand well we have to use an our own launcher for the moment. I use Apex as it is my favourite.
Do u keep your plan for Nexus 5 as well? I will have my device in 2-3 days but I'll keep it "clean" and standard till u give us a ROM for him....

Yea the new Google launcher isn't optimized for tabs so there are some issues. I'm just using nova and its working well I'm not into the slide out search anyways. I'm getting the N5 for a Christmas gift hopefully it will still be available. Working on a new build with a few extras hopefully have it out tonight. I don't have a build server still so it takes some time to compile on my macbook.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4

I had installed Dj8218521's 4.4 before you got yours out, but I'm switching over. I wasn't having any unexpected issues but, for me, you dah man. lol.
Looking forward to great things. I am really liking what I have seen in terms of how "lean and mean" kitkit is. Just goes to show how much can be done on the software side to improve user experience without relying wholly on faster hardware.

Woohoo!!! Seeing DJ's 4.4 just made my day, can't wait to flash this after work

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself. This is a build composed off of the CM10.2 builds and i have added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

Please follow the steps before posting any issues. Don't take that the wrong way, I am most certainly here to help but all I ask is a little effort in seeing if the issue has either been addressed, resolved or a work around has been figured out. I always try to keep a positive, fun-loving attitude with users and I intend to keep it that way

It has some interesting features. Does the fact that is cm based, means that a caf kernel is necessary?
Thanks for bringing us this rom I'll be sure to experience it.

Is this ROM a official build of beanstalk or is he just built from source?
Do you plan to update this ROM if there's updates for beanstalk?
And do you own a Nexus 7 2013 by the way?
Is it stable for as a daily drivers and what are the bugs that are involved?
Sorry for the questions. Its coming to a new year and my studies are starting soon and its going to be hectic for me since I'm having national exam soon so I doubt I have the time to be flashing so if it's stable than I could use it till my exams are over. Since updating doesn't take long :fingers-crossed:
Hope you do not be offended alright? And thank you for bringing a new ROM for the Nexus 7 community :victory::victory::victory::victory::victory:

I sound convinced now. Do you have a slot for me in the beta team of yours?
Sounds great from what you said and I would like to give it a try. I'll do it later when I get home ^^
Once you make a DPI change of 245 or lower it causes the settings to go into split mode (which is what I wanted), once the settings is in split view you can no longer open Harmony Settings, settings force closes at this point. Does this happen for anyone else? Would you like a log cat or can you replicate the problem?

OrionOS is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? ). We started this project for falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and is packed with a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. Needless to say, this project is a product of our hobbies and the love we bore for Android.

First. Thanks for this. Would love to give it a whirl. Downloading now, going to flash it on my grouper as soon as I get home to her.

So far running well. Only small issue is in Settings, selecting More causes settings to FC. I only go in there to turn off nfc.

Looks like my kind of ROM. Downloading now and giving it a spin! Thank you for your hard work!
First, thank you to devs for taking the time & effort to provide what looks like a nice Rom for our old grouper.
I would like to give this a whirl and I read your complete OP notes about the features, but didn't see 2 things I wanted to ask about first:
1- Is this f2fs ready for data and cache?
2- I see 2 mentions of double tap to sleep, but nothing about double tap (or sweep) to wake? Yes/no?
If the answer is no to the questions, is either in your plan of features in the near future? I must admit that once I got used to f2fs speed over time, and dt2w/sweep2wake to turn on, I can't live without either.
Thanks!

Ok I will update the OP with new added features and I tested the ROM only in ext4 .....f2fs may work
for double tap to sleep, you have to flash a custom kernel(DC-Kernel)

Hello dev, I have been on a flashing binge lately so did try Orion and wanted to report back to you. I am happy to say that it did install on my grouper over top of /cache and /data as F2FS.
As a small bug report there is something wrong with the display of the brightness slider, instead of being centered in the extended pulldown it goes off to the right out of visible range. Also there seemed to be problems with the auto-brightness, the screen varied quite a bit while sitting still in a room with inside lighting, and I was sure to not be blocking the light sensor with my hands.
Thanks for your efforts!

dumb question
When I click the link for gapps it starts itself on gapps for 5.1
I see the ROM is 6.0.1
is 5.1 just the default selection for that downloader or is that the apps were supposed to be using for this ROM instead of the 6 version?
thanks

5.1 is the default selection and 5.1 gapps aren't supposed to work with this ROM. Just manually select ARM>6.0>PICO and hit the download button. It should work.

Hi
A dumb question from someone who has been out of the flashing game for a long while and has lost his confidence, if you don't mind. I have the Nexus 7 2012 WiFi Only model. Will this ROM work with that? Also, do I have to upgrade TWRP before flashing? I only use the N7'12 as a Kindle Reader so I have no issues with performing a clean flash.

Thank you, I get stoked every time I see a new rom to run. I'm gonna try it out this evening.
Looks like a rom that's right down my alley. Good looking my dude. Quick question; does this come with busybox too or should I zip up a busybox 1.24.1 and flash that also in recovery. I tried to find it in the changelog but i couldn't seem to find it, thanks again

Gave this ROM a try, used opengapps but when I booted I couldn't get through start up cause Google Play Services kept crashing. Did a clean install again using PureNexus Dynamic Gapps and this worked fine but when I used the Quick Settings tile changer it was all finicky and I reset them then System UI crashed and some weird stuff happened telling me firmware update was in progress so yeah I ditched and when back to uber.
Google Play Games error?
hey man love the rom so far however i'm having one issue, its not allowing me to sign into google play games in my apps.

well thats strange man, i installed opengapps mini and micro, both of them worked for me without any crashing of UI or services. Its just the Google Play Games that's not letting me sign in on my games is all for me, which is quite strange.

Did you wipe your system in TWRP?
Advanced wipe system....
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5X mit Tapatalk
Orion OS recommend opengapps. I always recommend banks on all my builds, been using this rom for a few days now and not having issues with playstore. i will ad banks on OP when i get a chance.
Super smooth for me right now. Thanks for a great build.
Running for 2 days now and the rom has been great. Just now found a bug with wifi hotspot. Upon turning on the hotspot it just says error and doesn't activate hotspot. Other than that, running great
It also gives me error of Google Play Services in the Setup Wizard (cant get through it) with OpenGapps stock

Of course I wiped system. Also for all the other replies GApps isn't the huge issue here. For the record I used opengapps stock that's when I was getting crashes during setup. The real problem was when I edited my quick settings then clicked the reset button. Some crazy stuff started going on. System UI crashed, screen started flashing then rebooted saying it was performing a firmware update. Showed a progress bar and everything. I stopped it and booted to recovery and flashed the uber build I had saved.

Yes clicking on reset button brings a SystemUI fc that dosen't stop....hopefully we're working on it to get it fixed until then just simply don't use the reset option sorry for the inconvenience though....Also if you follow our gplus community you could have seen the warning given there...do follow the community to know about upcoming events/teasers or any such stuff.

I can confirm that wifi tethering does not work. I'm given an error when I try to enable it. The brightness slider on the status bar also doesn't work properly. Other than that this is my favorite rom for the N5x out of the six that I've tried. Thank you!

OrionOS is a project based on AOSPB.

Hi Droid,
Thanx for the roms u upload/build
Have some problems with the Orions 2.3 build on my M7..
Here a list:
Whatsapp call, mic doesnt work in calls (other person cant here me, i hear them.)
In normal calls, when i push speaker/handsfree. There is now sound, i cant hear the other person. When setting handsfree off again, i hear the other person again.
No vibration when pushing home/back button's in lower black bar.
This is what i found after 1 day.. Hope u can help me out..:highfive::highfive:
Is there a way to change LTE to 4G in statusbar.? I know it is possible, but cant find the place to change it
And i miss some battery icons.? I like the round one with percentage in it
Now some positive things about the rom:
Feels quick
Layers (have to figure it out haha)
Battery looks good, lost +- 8% overnight in 9 hours.
Hey, thanks for this. It's nice to have an AOSP based rom for my old M7.
I really like this rom so far, especially since somehow, other roms tend to unload my launcher from memory and it has to reload everytime I exit an app.
Been testing it for a day now and the only problem I've encountered so far is with the mic not working for apps (like the google app), phone calls are OK though.
As for the camera, I don't really use the built-in app (I have it frozen with TiBu), but the third-party camera app I'm using seems to work fine.

Does snapchat work on this, or is it a CM style ROM and therefore has problems running it?
