Can someone who is rooted confirm if smart status bar app ( pro / free ) version works ?
I use this everyday to get screen back on my N4 hoping the launcher has not screwed this up
Hey, I just looked into the app and if I understand correctly, it reveals the status bar in full screen apps.
KitKat has this feature built in. Swipe from the top down to reveal the status bar at and time

Yeah almost, however when combined with full screen mode the status bar auto hides when not in use and pings down and shows its self until you deal with the notification.
It needed root under 4.3 to work in order to redraw the status bar, its not simply hiding the bar constantly not sure how 4.4 deals with it as I have poor WiFi and can't download a build for my n4/7 in any less than 8 hours.

I want a drop down status bar menu like this :

Is there any way to get that ? i dont know what it is called but I saw on my frnd's cell and its pretty handy at times. So is there any app by which we can get that thing ?
Thanks
Never mind I found app called notification toggle
My recommendation would be to install a ROM with toggles already on it. Which most do. Notification toggle is an app, which you'll notice it says "ongoing" all the time. That's because it's an app that runs all the time. This is likely to consume battery, and it also sits IN the notification area, cluttering it up, while a ROM with toggles is above the notification area.

Hello, I haven't find a way to change the status bar toggles (can't remove annoying google plus profile acces?) and to make it appear at first when touching status bar and not having to touch the top bar right icon after , screen is big enough to have toggles displayed always (I would want to make them more lilttle also).
Thanks
Have found If I pull down status bar with two finger it goes direct to toggles, it's better than nothing. To modify toggles could be something with root and not another Rom?
note, that functionality had to wait for roms

So I'm a recent covert to PA, using immersive mode with PIE and loving it! My only gripe though is without the status bar, there's no quick way to get to any new notifications without swiping down once to show the status bar, and then again to show the notification shade.
On the lock screen i tried using DashClock in expanded mode so i can just click on the notification from there, but i find that annoying because then you have to hold the lock icon to unlock the screen? How do you guys do it?

You swipe up the lock icon to minimize an expanded Widget (You expand it by swiping down).

And that works fine, I guess I was looking for a one touch solution. In reality, pulling down the shade and choosing the notification was two touches, and so is pulling down to expand, and then choosing the notification is two as well, so that's not bad, but still trying to find a solution from the home screen or other apps.

You can use DashClock Widget on the home screen too?
Why don't you just use immersive mode with the status bar visible? Its a setting behind the quick toggle for immersive mode. Set it to Nav Bar only.

Hello,
I've tried to find how to make the status and navigation bar transparent with gravity box on Nexus 5 but every post on the Internet shows something like "transparency management" in Gravity box but this option seems to be non-existent.
Any ideas?

Status bar and Nav bar transparency is determined by the app. Most launchers have it implemented and a small number of other apps do. There's an Xposed module to force transparency on apps but it's buggy as apps that weren't designed with transparent bars in mind would have elements drawn behind the bars rather than leaving it as space for them.

The term "transparency management" was removed after KK I think.
Go to GravityBox -> Display tweaks -> Enable Translucent decor at the bottom. Reboot.

I believe what that does is always force transparent status and nav bars on the Recent Apps screen (and maybe elsewhere, I never noticed it anywhere else). In AOSP (also stock ROM), if you're in an app that doesn't support transparent status/nav bars then tap on recent apps, it won't fade away the bars to transparency. Vice versa, if you're in an app that supports it (most common being launcher), tapping on recent apps will keep the bars transparent.
Most custom ROMs have worked around it so going to recent apps will ALWAYS fade the bars to transparency regardless if the app you were in had them transparent or not. That option in GravityBox does the same thing.
Try disabling that option in GravityBox and you'll see.

Actually, not for mine. When the option is enabled, recent apps screen displays black bars even if the app supports transparency weirdly enough. I never used the transparency option in gravitybox in the first place, so I'm more than happy to stick with the system default.
Hi I normally use bxactions to hide both the status bar and nav keys but it doesn't seem to be compatible yet and looks like Samsung have even stopped use been able to hide the softkeys
Does anyone know another way of having immersive mode I know it can be done with adb but doesn't that just leave us with a constant black bar at the top?
Thanks

Yeah, I tried hiding the status bar with ADB but it doesn't look right in most apps. You can still hide the navigation bar and use gestures, I'm just baffled that you can't hide the status bar in the default Samsung browser anymore. The option is still present on my Note 9 running an older version but on the Note10+ it's gone.

Ya I have the note 9 too and I've just got it set to immersive on the bxactions app but cannot seem to get it sorted on the note 10 I'm too paranoid about screen burn so its normally the first thing I do lol
On the Note 9, you can enable gesture navigation and then turn off the "hints" buttons, giving you a full screen experience. It should work the same way on the Note 10+.

Thanks I've tried that but don't like full gestures I like been able to swipe from the bottom and it brings up the softkeys also I'm after hiding the status bar the same way
You can use this to have an immersive mode toggle. You can choose what it hides. Status bar and nav bar or 1 or the other
