Hi I normally use bxactions to hide both the status bar and nav keys but it doesn't seem to be compatible yet and looks like Samsung have even stopped use been able to hide the softkeys
Does anyone know another way of having immersive mode I know it can be done with adb but doesn't that just leave us with a constant black bar at the top?
Thanks

Yeah, I tried hiding the status bar with ADB but it doesn't look right in most apps. You can still hide the navigation bar and use gestures, I'm just baffled that you can't hide the status bar in the default Samsung browser anymore. The option is still present on my Note 9 running an older version but on the Note10+ it's gone.

Ya I have the note 9 too and I've just got it set to immersive on the bxactions app but cannot seem to get it sorted on the note 10 I'm too paranoid about screen burn so its normally the first thing I do lol
On the Note 9, you can enable gesture navigation and then turn off the "hints" buttons, giving you a full screen experience. It should work the same way on the Note 10+.

Thanks I've tried that but don't like full gestures I like been able to swipe from the bottom and it brings up the softkeys also I'm after hiding the status bar the same way
You can use this to have an immersive mode toggle. You can choose what it hides. Status bar and nav bar or 1 or the other

Hi there. Lovin the N5 so far. Definitely the fastest phone I have ever used (and I've used tons). Trying to move to more gesture based things and looking for a way to hide the status / nav bars so I can just use Pie and swipe down for status bar / notifications. I can use GMD Gesture Controls to hide both, but it reverts back to normal after I lock the screen. Plus the status bar doesn't swipe down easily if at all like that. Anyone else have any ideas or just have to wait till more devs get their N5s to build up the KitKat support for mods?
Is there any way to use expanded desktop/immersive mode without getting rid of the softkeys?
Essentially I don't want a status bar at all, but I don't want to lose my soft keys or have to swipe up to enable.
Ideas?

With Xposed + Gravity Box, there's an option to just do immersive status bar, so the navigation bar stays, but the status bar "hides".

ART is overrated. At least right now since its in development stages. The pros of Xposed outweigh the pros of ART in my opinion.
Is there any way to have a 100% empty status bar,no signal bars of any kind?I am looking for a way do it.I can't seem to kind a way with using immersive mode, which I don't want.I looked for a xposed module and didn't find any. Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear, why would you rather have a status bar with no status icons instead of simply no status bar at all?

Personal preference. I want a change.I like immersive mode with pie. It's just not what I want to be honest.I would like it empty and to use a widget to relay the info that would show up.(I.e WiFi signal carrier signal clock )

Sorry, I get the "clean look" idea. I just don't understand what the difference is to you to have a clean status bar vs no status bar... I don't see why you would want the former not the latter. Or would completely hiding the status bar be an option too?

I would "hide it".I've never really been a widget person,so I'd like to try something new and use a widget to give me all the info normally displayed in the status bar,but I don't want to use something that takes away the keys I added and colored. Any thoughts?

Widget is only good if you're in the launcher. What about in apps? Some custom laucnhers can hide status bar when you're in launcher (homescreen etc) but then not when in apps. How would that suit?

I'm one of the small niche groups that actually really G.N.L.I like the functionality of swiping to my left for my cards.I think I had a ROM on my gnex that I was able to hide icons than make status bar transparent.I'll check out a few custom ROMs and see what I can come up with.If not I'll make my own build to suit my needs.won't be the 1st time...thanks for the feed back I was just looking for the cheap way out.

Use the xposed module gravity box. And use the display setting called immersive status bar. It'll hide the status bar while keeping your navigation bar. You can keep your colored nav keys, not see the status bar, and you won't have to use pie. If I'm not misunderstanding, that's what you want?

Thanks buddy, apparently I missed that set of options in G.B.That's what I was looking for.
Since a couple of OTAs ago the customization of the nav bar has changed. I pretty much just want it to be black in all apps. There was an app "Nav Bar Apps" that did this but now it doesn't work like it used to. An example is in Nova Launcher the nav bar is always white, also in Swiftkey it's white. Any ideas?
I am looking for same thing. Black Nav bar and option to selective enable pin for all and individual apps

If you want the black nav bar back just use this theme from XDA. No need to void your warranty. Also there is Substratum for Samsung devices.

If you are familiar with ADB commands, this works perfectly for me without the root.

I've been messing with substratum and somehow my nav bar ended up like the pixel. When I try to change it to something else, when I press home button it still shows pixel icon. I tried to remove all layers and uninstall subtratum app but the pixel nav bar remained. Is there a way to get back to stock nav bar without having to reset phone. I also installed custom nav bar app and now the spacing between buttons is smaller I think.

You'll have to uninstall the substratum theme. Settings> apps > your theme. I'm using swift dark and there are around 20 layers to uninstall.
Alright so I got the stock nav buttons back... Is there a way to get the right dimensions? I used the custom navbar app and made it more compact than it was.

Do you still have the app? Did you make a backup of the original? If you didn't make a backup you should be able to use the app to remedy your situation.
yeah not sure how to get it back to the right layout. Everything is scrunched to the center.
edit: figured it out, had to purchase app to get custom layout
now get systemui error every time I rotate to landscape. Just gonna reset my phone I guess.
I haven't used it in years since i prefer swipe gestures but i haven't found a way to hide it in Android 11 and the methods i know no longer work

I mean the 3 button navigation bar
Why not use gestures? I'm thinking Nova has hide nav bar, but I prefer gestures. I use Full Screen gestures magisk to hide white bar. I'm rooted.

Hiding the nav bar is no longer available in android 11. I just turned on gestures and it took 4 days of use to like it.

I know you can hide it with xposed edge but that means flashing edxposed then safety net doesn't pass so i switched to vivid gestures but now i can't hide navigation bar with it
Can you explain what you mean?
It is still possible to switch between gesture or three button navigation in Android 11, isn't it?
